Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Kobold Extermination

The next couple of days I continued to do as many F-Ranked quests as possible, some that even involved hunting animals outside the city and bringing them back in the best condition possible.

I was quite happy that even Adventurer was considered an Occupation, even more so when I found that every level I gain in it gets me a free attribute point I could allocate freely.

Plus, that [Sense Civilization(1)] skill would be quite useful if I were to get lost in the wilderness or the Northern Bestial Lands.

I also found out how to level up my inventory, basically, I just have to repeatedly use it, like a muscle.

Sadly though, it costs all of my mana to open my inventory to put something in or pull something out.

So, I will need to start putting points into Magic or get an occupation related to it, like an Enchanter if I wanted to effectively use my inventory.

Anyway, with every level in my Inventory, I unlocked another slot to store something,

Currently, I had food and water taking up both of the slots I had access to.

Now enough about that, in these past few days that I have been working I have earned a little over 4 Silver Coins, which a single Silver Coin would be equivalent to 100 Copper Coins.

Overall, I had 4 Silver Coins and 32 Copper Coins.

I was also a few quests away from reaching the required amount for the E-Ranked Test, sadly I still had to reach level 25 if I wanted to take the test.

Anyway, today I wanted to take on two Subjugation-Type Quests that involved clearing out a Kobold Den and a Goblin Den.

Kobolds were small lizard-like humanoid monsters that were almost exactly like Goblins but bred at a slower speed than Goblins.

They were both menaces that could breed at a fast speed, but at least they attacked each other and weakening themselves.

So it shouldn't be too hard to clear out these two dens and collect their ears as proof for the quest.

Soon after leaving the city, I began walking in the general direction of the Kobold's Nest which was a little south of the Mountain Range that separates this part of the continent from the Northern Bestial Lands.

I decided to go after the Kobolds first since they were the closest to Stormhold and the Goblin Subjugation Quest's location was west of Stormhold in a thick forest that houses many beasts.

Using my tracking skill, I soon found some faint tracks and began tracking them all the way back to some kind of abandoned Mine.

Well, let's go clear out some Kobolds.

...

As I began slaughtering my way through the Kobolds I noticed that the Kobolds all were wearing loincloths, the more I saw this the more I saw why the Kobolds were seen to be the same as the Goblins...

Before long I hit level 8 and put the 5 points I got into Magic, raising my Mana Capacity up to 100 MP, allowing me to open my inventory twice within a small time frame, it takes around half an hour to regenerate 50 MP, so it should only take an hour to regen 100 MP.

The reason that my MP regen was so shitty, was because I did not have a Magic-based class that would assist in the regeneration of my drained mana or even a skill that could help me regen my mana at a faster rate.

Soon enough I found myself at the bottom of the abandoned mine where I found the Kobold Chief protecting the youngest Kobold remaining of their tribe.

Although they are savage monsters that could become as bad as Goblins, they actually had a little bit of a family bond between all of the members of their tribe, which means if you kill one member of their tribe, then the rest would try to avenge them.

I assume this Kobold Chieftan wanted to protect the only chance of a future their tribe could now have since I killed all the other Kobolds.

Soon enough, however, I killed the Kobold Chieftan, leaving only the adolescent Kobold who was hiding behind a pillar.

Just as I was about to kill him I recalled some chatter between a Monster Tamer was talking about in the Guildhall.

Walking over to the Kobold, I used my sword to cut my finger and then grabbed onto the struggling Kobold before dripping my blood into its mouth.

And just as I was hoping, a notification appeared.

[Do you wish to obtain the Tamer Occupation?]
