Chapter 4: Planning.
A pink blur shot through the forest, it wrapped around a tree before stopping at the top.
'My physical capabilities have to be equal to a rank 2 Martial Soldier.' Verona said looking out from the treetop.
'If I find another village, I will use my magic this time. I want to test a spell I just thought of, if it works well then I could sneak in human towns.' Verona said as she jumped from the treetop, following a village hunting group.
She followed from the treetops until they reached the gate, she backed away and formed a magic circle above her head.
'Calamity magic: Calamitous Illusion!' Verona's skin withered away and turned from red-pink to a light brown. Her hair turned from white to black and her eye color turned blue. Her horns disappeared, her ears rounded, her nails turned normal, and her teeth looked like a human's.
'If this works, I could start my revenge!' Verona said as she injured herself to play her role.
She walked to the gate with a limp playing the role of an injured girl. She walked into the village and a woman saw her and ran to her aid.
"Are you okay young lady?!" The brown hair woman asked with concern.
Verona played her role and coughed up blood.
"H-Help please..." Verona said with a weak voice.
"Someone call the herbalist!" The woman yelled out.
5 minutes later, an old man in brown robes came onto the scene.
"Please put her on the stretcher." The old man said and 2 men lifted Verona onto the stretcher.
They brought her to the herbalist's home and laid her on the bed.
"What happened out there, young lady?" The herbalist asked as he ground multiple herbs in a mortar.
"A-A demon, it wiped out my entire village. It killed and are everyone, I was the only survivor but it saw me and injured me." Verona said as she fake cried.
"A demon! How far away was your village? We lost contact with a village we trade with around 2 days ago." The herbalist said slightly worried.
"My village was around 40 miles from here." Verona whispered.
"Do you think the demon will come here?" The herbalist asked.
"I don't think so, it looked satisfied with eating my villagers." Verona shot back.
"I'm sorry." The herbalist said with remorse.
"No, I'm sorry for being so spiteful." Verona said with admonishment.
The herbalist put some green paste over her injury and bandaged the wound.
"You shouldn't move too much for about a week. Come back tomorrow so I can reapply the medicinal paste." The herbalist said before a hand pierced his chest.
He looked back in fear, he saw a red-pink-skinned demon smiling in with glee.
"Thanks, doc." Verona said before she bit his head off.
"Humans truly are the best cuisine!" Verona said with a flushed face.
Verona spread her wings and flew up for the first time.
"Woaah, this is tricky. I think I can get the hang of it soon." Verona said as she started to fly around before hovering over the village.
She pointed her hand towards the village and created a magic circle in front of her hand. The circle slowly spun and was a crimson red color.
"Calamitous Strike!" Verona yelled out as the magic circle shot out a sphere of crimson mana. The mana hit the middle of the village and blew up, it destroyed a small part of the village.
Verona kept firing as people screamed, she stopped once she ran out of mana and flew back to the ground. The village had multiple crimson fires and charred people were spread throughout. She ran through the village and killed the survivors.
"Time to eat!" She started eating the charred humans and noted they tasted like grilled steak and she should cook humans next time. She felt her mana capacity increase as she ate more humans and her body felt stronger and denser. Her mana capacity hit the peak and she grew to a 2-star Magus.
She finished eating the villagers leaving nothing behind not even bones. She burned down the village and moved onto the nearest town.
'Now that I am a 2-star Magus, I qualify for the Magic Academy of Reian. If I get in there, my growth would skyrocket as I would be supplied with resources.' Verona said as she took flight and flew towards the nearest town at high-speeds.
'Good thing I took the villager's money although it isn't much.' She estimated it was around 50 copper coins.
She arrived on the outskirts of a town called Termor. She used her illusion spell and walked towards the line. She waited for around an hour before reaching the front.
"20 copper." The guard said lazily.
She put the copper in his hands and walked into the small town.
'Hmm, I'm going to need money when I'm in the capital. The baron here doesn't seem to welcomed.' Ever since she walked into the town, she's heard rumors about the baron taking another young girl into his mansion.
Verona waited in an ally until nightfall, she then flew up and landed on the baron's rooftop. She heard screams and a grown man's grunts.

"Please stop!!" A teenage girl cried out as the obese man continued to penetrate her.
"Heheh, you fucking whore. I bet you seduce boys with this body, don't you? Your mother must be a beauty, I'll have her next!" The obese man said as he thrusted in and out the crying girl.
The obese man released into the girl and got off of her. The girl curled onto the bed and began crying hysterically. She heard a slashing sound and saw the baron without a dick and a head. She saw a tall 7-foot demoness eating his body. Verona looked over and waved her hand.
"Hello there." Verona said smiling with bloody teeth.
The girl looked at the demoness not with fear but with astonishment. Verona saw the look in the girl's eyes and giggled.
"You want a taste?" Verona said as she held up a piece of the baron's arm.
The girl looked at Verona then the arm and nodded. Verona stuffed a piece into her mouth and the girl began to chew.
"You're the first human I've seen eating another human. You would do great as a demon. Would you take this offer?" Verona asked in the girl's face.
The girl nodded and Verona created a magic circle onto her tongue and kissed the girl. She moved her long tongue down the girl's throat and the red gem shined brightly. The girl's features changed, she grew taller from 5'4 to 6'7, her skin turned light purple, her hair turned black, her eyes went from brown to red, she grew two sharp black horns on the side of her head, her canine teeth sharpened, and her nails turned black and sharp. She also grew a large pair of black bat wings on her back.
"What's your name girl?" Verona asked her new subordinate.
"R-Reina." Reina said stammering.
"From today onwards Reina you shall live for me and die for me. Anything I ask you shall do it with no question. Do you understand?" Verona said pressuring Reina.
"Yes Ma'am! You saved me from that piece of human shit, how could I ever question your orders. I would do anything you ask me, if you asked me to kill myself right now I would do it, if you asked me to kill a newborn I would do it. Your life is my life, if you were to die I would kill myself on the spot!" Reina said with an incredible amount of obsession.
Verona was surprised at the amount of obsession Reina had. She brushed it off and continued eating the baron, Reina joined her.
"Mistress, why does this obese, greasy, piece of human shit taste so good?" Reina said as she stuffed her face with the baron's internal organs.
"All humans taste good Reina, they taste better when cooked! Also, children and women taste good as well." Verona said as she ranted on about how good humans taste and Reina listened attentively.
"Reina, go to the baron's treasury and take 2 pouches of coins of the highest worth." Verona ordered and Reina nodded before going to the baron's treasury, killing anyone in the way.
Verona searched for the baron's armory and found a large door. She pushed open the door and was met with rows of high-quality armors and weapons.
She walked through the armory and found a rapier encased in glass. The rapier had a red hilt, the guard and the blade were silver, and the scabbard next to the blade was white. She broke the glass, picked up the rapier, and swung out. She swung at a wooden post and the blade went right through.
"Interesting." Verona said as she picked up another blade for Reina. She walked out of the armory and found Reina waiting outside with 2 heavy-looking pouches.
"What did you get?" Verona asked as she threw a silver longsword towards Reina.
"Mistress he had 10 platinum coins and the rest were gold. I also picked out jewels and some shiny rocks." Reina said catching the longsword and handing the pouches over to Verona.
"Shiny rocks? They must be mana stones, we can use those to absorb mana faster and get to higher ranks." Verona said as she extended her wings.
"Let's go."
