Chapter 9: Interrogation lessons....

☆"Sophie's P.O.V"☆

After the bar fight and having the newbies get their first taste of real combat, it was time to get down to interrogating one of these low-life scum bags and see what kind of information I can get out of them. Who knows?  We might get some useful information….. Or it could just send us on a wild goose chase. It's worth a shot. I turned around to see a young man attempting (and very poorly might I add) to escape from one of the very few windows that hadn't been shattered or busted in the fight.

I let out a small sigh as I walked over to the idiot, (who by the way was climbing out the window head first …. Moron) grab him by the waistline of his pants and yank him back through the window. He landed across the room and hit the wall with a loud *Smack*.

"Hey, Newbies!" I called out to the gang and gestured for them to come over.

"What is it, Boss?" asked Jacob.

I grabbed the moron that was still trying to escape, by his throat, slammed him against the wall with his feet slightly dangling above the floor.

I then turned to the gang and said, "Time to teach you some interrogation moves."

"Do your worst slayer." Growled the puny fledgling that I had pinned to the wall by his throat, a slight trickle of blood leaking out of the corner of his mouth, "I ain't gonna tell you shit."

I narrowed my eyes at him and then slapped him hard across the face, "Now listen very closely to what I'm about to say to you." I hissed out slightly tightening my grip around his throat, "Make the right choice for once in your fucking life and tell me.... what the fuck is a human doing in a demon bar?"

"What makes you think I'm a human?" He sneered at me, "For all you know I might be a powerful demon."

I tightened my grip on him and dug my nails into his scrawny little neck, "You think this is a game?!" I shouted at the punk.

He was gasping for air about now and trying desperately to lessen my grip on him.

"If you were an actual demon, I'd have your sorry little ass sent back to the pit from which you crawled out of." I hissed then I let go of him, letting him crash to the hard floor.

I put my foot on his chest, hardly putting any pressure on him yet still keeping him down, "Now tell me... why are you here?"

 ☆"Alex's P.O.V"☆

Damn..... She's good at this whole interrogation bit. It felt like she was trying to put the fear of God into him. Well, whatever she did it was working, 'cause the next thing I knew he was telling us everything.

"Okay, I'll tell ya." The guy said, trembling and wide eyed, "I was told by a friend that if I came here I'd meet a powerful man that would make me rich!"

"Did you meet with this 'powerful man' already?" Sophie asked.

He nodded quickly, "I met the guy my friend was talking about, but he looked kinda off. He told me he was some all-powerful demon and promised me that he would pay me a lot of money if I would help him find something. He called it a leviathan."

The guy seemed to squirm under Sophie's boot as she then asked, "What exactly did you tell him?"

"I told him he was crazy. That a giant fish from the bible was not real and he flipped. Next thing I knew he stormed out the door."

Sophie then removed her foot from his chest, and walked over to us, "We've got a serious problem here." she said in a serious tone.

"Why? What's wrong?" I heard myself say it out loud and started to regret it already.

"Are you deaf or are you just that stupid?" She said, giving me this look as if I had just asked what was one plus one, "This demon is looking to unleash the leviathan..... and you're asking what's wrong?"

Just then I felt like I was the dumbest person in the room. Way smarter than Izzy.... but still dumb enough to ask that question out loud

{What the heck was I thinking... oh right, I wasn't} I thought as I mentally kicked myself for being so stupid.

She shook her head at me, "We need to stop this before it gets outta hand, and fast."

"Where to now, boss?" Jacob asked.

She looked down, then at the rest of us, "Let's just say, we're heading for a lost city."

"Which one?" I heard Jacob ask with a slightly worried tone.

     "Atlantis."

(Jacob's P.O.V)

[Oh, great… this is just perfect. Of all the lost kingdoms in the world, this guy has to go to Atlantis. Not only that, but this dude's after the Leviathan.] I thought to myself, [He's just crazy if he thinks he can find the Leviathan. Heck, he's crazy if he thinks he'll get past the high end, and I mean very high end, security system in Atlantis.]

Not many people think Atlantis is a real place but trust me when I say it is real. My pixie dust buzz is already gone and I'm completely aware of what's going on.

"Come on dudes, no one has ever located Atlantis let alone the secret chambers of the Leviathan." I said, trying very hard to keep my cool, "Besides, even if we found Atlantis, there's no way we'll be able to get inside."

Sophie gave a curious look, "How do you know we won't get inside? I can be very persuasive if you haven't already figured that one out."

"Well…I… I was just…" I started to stammer as I felt my blood run cold.

[This is so not cool.] I thought nervously.

"I have a feeling you're keeping something from us." She said glaring daggers at me, "Mind telling us what it is, hmm?"

"Well I guess the fish is outta the net now…" I sighed.

"I believe the term is the cat's outta the bag." Abby butted in but was silenced immediately by a raise of Sophie's hand then she gestured for me to continue.

       "Well… the truth is…" I sighed, "I'm an Atlantian."

Everyone just looked at me in silence. Just then I totally felt like pond scum for keeping this secret from my teammates. We are supposed to be, like, honest with each other, but I, like, have this creepy feeling that each one of us is holding something back from the group.

Finally Sophie spoke up, "Ok… so you're from Atlantis. Then you won't mind leading the way, now will you?"

I opened my mouth to protest, but then shut it when she raised her hand and said, "There is no time to lose. This mystery demon is on his way to Atlantis and we have to make it there before he does. If you have something to say, I suggest you keep it to yourself for now, understand?"

  "Yes, ma'am." I said reluctantly.

   "Now let's move!" She ordered.
