Chapter 3
**Where do you come from?
**You must me wondering, how did I know?
Mika was mystified how the mayor identified him to be not from this world. Then he realized that he was still wearing his clothes from the time he was transported. When he was about to explain about his clothes…
**When you a person is promoted to be a mayor of the village an ability is given to see the names of the people living in that village through the altar.
**Have you seen the broken crystal outside?
Mika being silent the whole time just nodded in agreement.
The mayor stood up and walk towards the window, viewing the broken altar.
**Can you see that broken piece in front of us?
**You may not see it but there are only 9 names in the crystal and Mika wasn't one of it.
This gave him an explanation that every member of the town has its role and has a unique ability bestowed into them. Mika just silently listen to the mayor's story to assess his predicament.
Another fact is that names of the villagers must be registered at the altar.
When he was about to ask, what happened to the other villagers, the mayor interrupted.
**I know you are not a spy because even though the altar is broken but it can detect foreign and enemy units and it will destroy it. So what is your story?
Mika paused a little bit realizing that the altar has its own defense mechanism. Then he quickly response.
"I can't remember"
Mika lied to protect himself from the things unknown in this world.
"It happened so fast, it was dark then a huge light sucked me in and I heard a loud bang. Then when I woke up I am beside the broken altar already."
The mayor looked like he is pondering on something.
**Hmmm… strange. I have heard there is a very rare case of this happening it is called translocation. I only heard stories about it but never really seen or experience it. It is when an altar is heavily damage, it summons someone to protect it. Story goes, that one village was about to be captured then a person not from this world magically appeared and save that village. It is a story passed down from generations. Why don't you go to the city and ask the scholar, they might know more about your case. When the reinforcements from the capital settled here you can come with us in returning.
I really wish I could help you but we are not yet clear out of danger. They might attack anytime.
Then the mayor walk towards the door. Mika stood up immediately. He has a lot of questions that needed to be answer.
"Wait mayor…"
"Who are they?"
"What capital?"
"Where am I?
The mayor paused awhile and say…
**Oh I forgot, you are not part of the survivors. Even though the survivors lost their memory, there are some basic information that are still available. Like, their name, the name and location of the village, which kingdom or faction they belong.
Then Mika inserted.
"Faction?"
"Kingdom?"
"Mayor just give me a minute to process everything."
Then the mayor opened the door.
**I wish I have time to explain everything, but it is almost dark. We have to finish the repair the altar to protect the village. Why don't you help Greg with the tower and let him tour around the village then meet me later and I will tell you everything I know.
Come walk with me outside, let's talk while we go to Greg.
The mayor waited for Mika to come, he instructed her secretary ti tidy things up in his office.
As the walk outside, while Mika was eagerly waiting for the mayor to talk.
**This village is called Tig, it is located in in the border of the Moniyan Empire and the Barren Lands.
"Wait did you say Moniyan Empire?"
"Like Tigreal...?"
The mayor's eyes widen. He pointed his hand to him like he was holding something. Then out of nowhere a gun materialized in his hands.
**Depending on your answer, I will spare you…
Mika froze and raise his arms in surrender.
"Mayor, wait let me explain."
While in panic, Mika tried to remember the word Moniyan, it feels like he encountered it just recently. Then his eyes widen while he having his epiphany, a smile can clearly be seen in his face. He can't contain his happiness.
"YES… YES…. YESSSSSS…."
"Thank you lord…. Yessssssss"
He ran towards the mayor and kisses his forehead.
"Thank you! Thank you! Smack! Thank Youuuu!!!!"
While the mayor is still confuse and still aiming his gun at Mika in mystery.
"This is Mobile Legends… Welcome to Mobile Legends." He shouted.
The villagers who were repairing the houses were startled. They were curious why the mayor is holding a gun towards a person who they didn't recognize. The mayor just stares at him completely lost.
"Thank god."
Then Mika put his arm around the mayor's shoulder, as he switched towards his side. As he was switching side the mayor switch his grip and repointed the gun to Mika's face. Mika realized that he is still being interrogated. He hold the barrel of the gun and pushed it away from his face while clearing his throat.
"Look mayor, I remember"
He acted like his memory came back.
"I remember I had a boring life, I was working under a lazy king. He used for 8 hours every day, he gravely underpaid me. He always scold me even though I did everything for him. My blood boils just remembering him"
Then the mayor interrupted
**So from what Kingdom are you?
"I still can't remember everything mayor. But, my king was old he has spectacles. he is grumpy all the time", as he was describing his former boss.
The mayor, seeing Mika as a weak person and does not pose threat, he lowered his gun and it dematerialized. Then the mayor said.
**Let me help you. When we return to the city, I'll introduce you to some scholars. They will surely be happy to know and learn your story. Come let's help Greg.
As they were walking, Mika's smile still can't be contained.
**We are here, these is the one that protects us from the…
"Jungle Monsters", Mika interrupted.
The mayor was shocked.
"Mayor I told you I remember some stuff", Mika smiled in response.
Then the mayor continue talking.
**Well that saves me from explaining everything. So, basically the defensive towers are connected to the altar. The crystal on the altar are the same as the crystal from the turrets.
**Difference is, the altar is connected to core of the planet. Altars grow significantly over time. That's why not all villages are similar.
"Oh I didn't know that", Mika now regrets on not reading the game profile and its lore.
"Stupid, Stupid, Stupid me…", while jamming his fist against his head.
**Are you OK
The mayor ask.
"Yes mayor I remember the things I should have done to ease thing up. So anyway mayor, why not build a lot of tower to protect the village?"
**I really don't know but the books said that the turrets takes up its energy from the altar. If a village people die, the altar used up its stored energy to respawn the dead villager, that's why you need to embed your profile at the altar when you are going from 1 village to another or else you will not be resurrected.
"So if the towers are the same as the altar where did you get the crystals for the turrets?"
**It is said that the towers are from the broken altar crystals. There are special units that are assign to put turrets to the places where there are altars.
"Where did they come from?"
**Nobody knows, they just come with a new crystal and connect it to the altar. Then they collect the old crystal and turret then leave after they establish the connection of the new ones. They just leave the mounting of the crystals to the townspeople.
**So here are we, looks like they finish mounting the 3 crystals.
**Greg, Greg..
The mayor shouted to notify Greg that they are near. Greg came out and went to where the mayor was.
**Greg I'll leave Mika to you. Give him a tour after you finish the repairs.
**And also, move faster its getting dark.
As Mika and Greg meet, they said good bye to the mayor, Greg later, introduce Mika to the team that were repairing the tower. Since Mika, doesn't know anything about repairs, he help in lifting stuff.
When Mika started lifting the piece of wood his health bar and stamina bar blinked, as a reaction he dropped the wood. When the blinking stops, he lift the wood again. As he was holding on to the wood his stamina slowly decreases, so walk towards the place where he should put the stack. In his approximation, the weight of the log was around 25 to 30 kilograms and the distance he walk was around 100 meters. He checked his stamina bar. It was around half bar left. He thought that he can only travel 2 logs in this case, but as he walk to the logs, his stamina slowly recover.
It took like 5 minutes for the stamina bar to be full again. So he carried another log and put it in the stack to be used by the carpenters who were repairing the towers.
After he deliver the 2nd log, he now checked his health bar who is still blinking. But to his confusion, the health bar didn't increase nor decreases, it was just blinking. It is acceptable because he is not hurt.
He continued helping on the repairs on the last tower.
As they were done, they decided to go to the altar where most of the people are staying.
While walking towards the altar, Greg toured Mika around the village for him to familiarize the location of the buildings.
It is a fairly small village that can house around 50 people. It has its basic facilities like a marketplace, blacksmith, farms, houses and the main hall.
Then suddenly a red flash startled Mika.
"Did you see that?"
**See what?
Greg replied
Then a voice notify Mika.
-OUR BASE IS UNDER ATTACK -
