Chapter 50: Sports Festival Part-7
After the match-up between Anri and Todoroki the other matches just went by, without any impressive feats to attract the attention of the audience unlike the other matches so far, and after several matches finally came the match up everyone was waiting for.
"Now we have one of Class 1-A's strongest students, being able to win the last two courses with ease, Izaya Kurogami" Present Mic yelled into the mic, causing the crowd to roar in excitement.
Most who were watching were eager to see what Izaya will do here. Having seen his unique and cool abilities earlier, they couldn't help but want to see more, so most were rooting for him to win in this fight.
"And going up against him is another student of Class 1-A, Tokoyami Fumikage" Present Mic yelled into the mic, causing cheers from the crowd, mostly from their own class.
Izaya and Tokoyami walked up to the platform and stood there waiting to hear the confirmation to start.
"Are you two ready?" Present Mic asked. Seeing the two students nod their heads, he immediately yelled out
"START!"
As soon as the present mic said that Tokoyami summoned his dark shadow and started charging towards Izaya with the intention to throw him out of the bounds as soon as the fight started. Tokoyami already knew about Izaya's fire ability and he understood that Izaya needs to be taken out as soon as the match starts, if Izaya were to activate his fire ability then it would be over for Tokoyami.
Unfortunately for him, not only did Izaya already know about Tokoyami's weakness but his speed also exceeded what Tokoyami is capable of, for him Tokoyami was moving at a snail's pace. Izaya jumped to the side and evaded the dark shadow that tried to throw him.
Tokoyami send his dark shadow to attack him again, however, Izaya jumped back to dodge again, Tokoyami mistook this as Izaya can't attack while he is defending himself as he threw a barrage of attacks towards Izaya.
As Izaya was efficiently dodging his attacks, he was preparing to use his fire ability to end this match.
Tokoyami continued his attacks on him so she could distract him for him to get a chance to hit him or throw him out of bounds. after all the attacks he finally managed to get Izaya at the corner of the arena.
"Time to end this" he said as he summoned dark shadow behind his back that looked more bigger and intimidating than usual.
The blackbird rushed towards Izaya ready to throw him out of bounds, however instead of dodging this time Izaya decided to counterattack.
Light emitted from behind his back and a flaming bird manifested the same as the size of dark shadow spreading its radiant wings in its full glory.
Dark shadow retreated back and shrink to a considerable degree, Tokoyami's eyes widened after seeing this sight in front of him, even teachers didn't have anything else to say.
"WHAT" Tokoyami said after seeing the flaming bird looking at him with burning eyes.
He already knew Izaya could control fire but this is beyond a normal level of control.
While they were shocked to see the flaming bird, suddenly flaming pillars burst out of the ground to form a huge cage around the arena. What was left of the Dark Shadow disappeared in the extra light that released from the pillars.
More light emitted in the area as the bird grew even larger covering the whole arena under it's flaming wings.
Sweats formed on Tokoyami's head as he said "I...I surrender"

"Tokoyami Fumikage has surrendered! Izaya Kurogami is the victor!" Present Mic screamed out, causing the crowd to grow even louder.

"His control over fire is exceptionally great. I wonder what else he can do" one of the heroes watching the match said
"But his quirk is telekinesis, he clearly found a great use of it, from what I remember, I've seen a telekinesis user who can manipulate winds, but never have I seen a telekinesis user who can manipulate fire"
"You are right, I always thought of telekinesis as a weak ability, but he clearly found some great uses of it"
"Well, the strength of one's quirk depends on the user, the other users were simply not able to exert this much amount of power unlike this kid"
"It's really is great, he could be a long and close range fighter both"
The heroes continued their discussion after the match while cementos was preparing the arena that was destroyed in the previous match by the flames.

"Congratulations Izaya" Momo said to him with a smile when he reached where the other students are as well.
"Dude that was so manly, the bird behind you and the pillars were so badass" Kirishima said to him, still awed at the 'badass' ability he showed in his match.
While the rest of them were Congratulating Izaya Tokoyami approached him.
"Izaya" Tokoyami said while the other students went silent
"Yeah, What is it"
"It was a nice fight, I learned something as well, I know my weakness very well, and I'm trying to overcome it, I know you could have used your other abilities but thank you for using fire so that I could learn something new" Tokoyami said with gratitude in his eyes.
Izaya put a hand on his shoulder and flashed a smile.
"No worries man"
After all that he sat back at his seat to watch the next match that is going to unfold.
