After a nice meal and a good night's sleep, Shuten woke up in the morning refreshed, and noticed his hair grew quickly. It was raven black, and looked a bit like an anime character's hair. He went into the bathroom to cut it down and cleaned himself up before finding a present box in the sink cabinet. It was a unique outfit that his parents had made. The top was a black vest that extended like an overcoat and had the symbol of the eye of Horus on the left side, and the bottom was a samurai design that mixed with a ninja design. It had armor on the legs, and there were kung fu slippers with fingerless gloves inside. Shuten grinned from ear to ear as he tried on his new suit. It felt loose and fluid, and didn't hinder any movement. His fighting style, Bagua, seemed faster. Every movement had force to it and when he made a circular motion it was swift and sure. As he walked out of the bathroom, his parents were sitting on the couch already smiling, and Shuten hugged and thanked them for the gift.
"This is amazing. But what's the occasion? A fancy party?"
Shuten asked. His dad explained how they considered vigilante work since the police weren't able to handle supernatural threats, and the bad cops didn't care about any natural crime going on. So they decided on letting Shuten fight since he was the oldest. He could find others and join in the cause since he was freelance now. Shuten looked at his parents with confusion, disbelief, and a bit smug at the thought of them coming up with it alone, but dismissed it.
"Well, if you guys think I can do this, then I'll do it. I'll become a symbol this world doesn't want, but what it deserves. More or less."
He said as he started to fly out of the window, but his mom said to use the door, much to Shuten's dismay. As he flew around the town, he realized no one noticed he was flying, and all people saw was a plane flying overhead. Shuten looked in sadness that no one could appreciate his maneuverability in the air, and only saw what they wanted to see because their minds were basically tuned to block out the supernatural. Just then, he noticed a police car giving chase to what seemed like a robber, and he flew after it. One of the cops sneakily looked at him and winked, letting Shuten know he could see him, and silently chanted a spell on his gun so it would curve and take out one of the tires. Shuten teleported the robber's gun out of the car and into his hand so he wouldn't have an opportunity to shoot anyone, and made it so he could be detained faster.
"Alright punk. Nowhere to-"
The first cop didn't finish as the second shot the robber through the leg and chest, just narrowly missing the heart. Shuten looked in shock that he would shoot first when the robber didn't even move.
"What the hell did you do that for?! He wasn't moving, I had him covered!"
The first cop yelled, but the second didn't care and started eating a doughnut while cuffing the robber who was bleeding bad. Shuten closed the wound and was about to blow the gun up, but the first cop looked at him again, and Shuten knew he didn't want to make a scene, so he flew away. As he was floating over a tree, he noticed a black cloud of sand that seemed to look at him.
"Such a foolish man, shooting someone clearly unarmed. But as the saying goes, karma's a bitch."
The cloud then transformed into a 19 year old with black jackal like ears over long dreadlocks with a golden ring around his head, his figure was slender and seemed both masculine and feminine while having a black sleeveless long coat with a golden necklace that had an ankh on it. He also wore gold shorts, and blue slippers. His eyes were like a golden cat, and his skin was smooth and dark like brown sugar. His aura radiated nothing but superior compassion and a kingly feeling. He smiled at Shuten, and got a bit close to feel his hair. Shuten blushed and slowly backed away as the boy giggled.
"Ah, sorry. You just look very handsome. And your hair is smooth. My name is Ozzy. Sort for Ozymandias. One of the pharaohs of Egypt. My parents are Egyptian and are proud of it. Although, I never expected to see you here. Sorry I'm rambling, what's your name?"
Shuten introduced himself, and thought that even though Ozzy seemed like an odd ball, he seemed like a nice person.
"Also, your Fox Deer hybridity is fascinating. I myself happen to be a hybrid as well. An anubian jackal mother and a human father. My sister is a fairy due to my father summoning one and it got placed inside my sister, effectively integrating with her soul. And wouldn't you know it she became a beautiful glitter bug. Even with her stutter. How about we spend the day together, we could fight crime like Batman and Robin, it'll be fun I'm sure."
Ozzy suggested, never taking his eyes away from Shuten. He looked a bit surprised at his request, but couldn't refuse the offer and they both flew around. Unfortunately not much was going on around the city, so they had a relaxing day. At dusk, they both had burgers and fries while sitting on a building rooftop.
"This has been a great day today. Although, it's almost a shame how many people are in denial." Ozzy started to suddenly get grim. "All humans, no matter who or where, exhibits nothing but malicious intent for violence and destruction. I mean, look at movies where they kill each other for sport. Even now, they don't see us. Just 2 idiot kids eating and skipping a pointless education system that never worked or helped."
Shuten had a worried look, not knowing this side of his friend. He didn't know what to say.
"It's rotten how the world is. Hypocrites, racists, murderers, all kinds. They're fools, cowards to the truth that all humans are garbage. But the chosen ones, they'll bring in a new age. A better age than before. But what if they get killed, then what? If everyone is unhappy then no one is? Is that the logic we use now? It's ridiculous, and a worthless notion. So. Humans deserve to be purged."
Shuten looked in disbelief that he just said that. Purge all humanity? That isn't very fair to the innocent ones. He started to leave but Ozzy grabbed his leg.
"Please don't tell me you disagree. I understand your feelings about this, but you cannot deny I'm right. Besides, you saw it happen before. It was no better than murder."
Ozzy tried to convince him, but Shuten wasn't having it, and started to leave.
"Shuten…please. I know what I'm talking about, it's the truth. If it's your family you're worried about it's no problem, I'll keep them and everyone else safe."
Ozzy pleaded with tears running down his face. Shuten couldn't look him in the eyes as all he would do is wrongfully yell at him. Ozzy looked down in defeat and blasted Shuten with fire out of nowhere. He dodged just in time.
"What the hell? Listen, I don't know what you're up to but killing humanity isn't the way. Yes they're corrupt and hypocritical, they're racist towards their own kind and barely think rationally when it comes to things they can't comprehend, but what's the point in killing them when they can evolve themselves in better ways if we just show them. Ozzy, I understand your feelings, but this isn't the way to do it. So just let me wipe your face and we can eat-"
He got cut off by Ozzy punching him through an abandoned building in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Luckily his tough body was able to withstand the force, but it was still painful. As he got up, he noticed Ozzy in front of him looking heartbroken at what he had done, but there was no going back.
"Sorry, but I can't let you stand in my way. Just know, you're the one person I ever really told any of this to. I promise when I remake this world, I'll make sure you survive to see it all. It would be unfair if I-"
Ozzy was cut off with a palm to the chest, and was also launched through an abandoned building. He got back up and charged at Shuten at full speed, matching his Bagua skills with Maui Thai and what seemed like the Egyptian style of Tahtib, which was basically sword fighting, but he used a pipe he found. Both of them were evenly matched, even managing to take the battle to the air. But due to their intense energies, they were able to be seen by regular people who started to record it all. Eventually both of them were locked together in a stand still.
"Shuten, you are truly a one of a kind person. If fate weren't so cruel, I dare say a fine lover. I can't help but feel a deep connection to you, but I can't let you stop me from doing this. Humanity needs to change. Not just for people like us but for their sake. If they don't evolve they'll wipe themselves out. No more laughter or art or anything. So please just…just don't. I don't want to hurt you to achieve my goals. I understand you feel for humanity but it's not like they'll be dead forever, right?"
Ozzy looked at Shuten, seeing his rage and compassion.
"No Ozzy, this isn't the way. Humanity will evolve, it's just a matter of time. Just because we're special doesn't mean we have the right to decide anyone's fate. No one, not gods, demons, or anything else can decide humanities fate. And..thank you for the compliments. You're beautiful too. But I can't let you hurt humanity. You're a good person, good enough to know the difference between right and wrong. So please, don't do this. If you do, I'll just keep battling you until this is behind us, and we can properly have a first date."
Ozzy smiled and let go of Shuten.
"I'm sorry I can't do that. But..believe me when I say today was perfect. I met you, and we got a chance to talk about this. I hope we can have better days like this before I destroy everything. Unless that is, if you can beat me at my full power. All the power of the gods, a one on one fight to decide the fate of humanity and earth. Don't hold back on me. I want an honest fight. If you win I'll forget blowing up humanity and focus on us. If I win, you don't interfere. Okay?"
Shuten reluctantly agreed and held Ozzy's hands.
"Just know…this is insane. But I'll…see you tomorrow.."
Shuten blushed intensely and went home, with Ozzy floating there wishing to have stolen a kiss.
