Chapter 1: Chapter one: I'll check
"you're a fool Joel!" Daphne lambasted at her husband who was slumped on the couch, drunk.
"mad woman go away!!" Joel exclaimed prying Daphne with red-shot eyes.
"Joel, i want a home that was once happy. Look at how we're living?"
Joel did not answer, instead he got up from the couch and pushed Daphne out of the way. As soon as he was out of the living room, Daphne burst into tears as she leaned on the table. Her useless and worthless husband who she still loved hadn't been supporting her and her 19 year old daughter, Lynn. With the sobbing noises she was making, Lynn bounced off her bed and ran to the living room. She sat beside her mother and embraced her.
"don't cry mother, I will make you proud" Daphne raised her head and looked at her daughter. Whilst stuttering in her sentence she said "I'm so... Sorry i can't... Take you to university. Your father doesn't want help us out. My part time jobs still make no difference and..." Lynn placed her her finger on Daphne's lips and said "I will still make you proud" Uncorking her sob even louder Daphne hugged Lynn who parted her back.
Later that day as Lynn was in the park with her best friend she let out her cries.
"I really hate my dad. He acts like I'm not his daughter and doesn't care about me and my mother. Sometimes I wonder if he's really my biological father..."
"don't have such thoughts" Marcie interjected "we just have to find a way to help your dad out"
"when he was drunk I tried to kill him" Lynn whispered audible enough only for Marcie to hear "but he caught me in my act and said he'll kill me when he gets the chance"
Marcie let out a soft chuckle "one thing i know, you can't kill. I'm just wondering why you tried"
Lynn rolled her eyes at Marcie who was still giggling
"stop it Marcie..." she interrupted her "... How can we deal with my dad? We've tried everything we can but nothing worked"
The two girls went silent for a while. After some time of vagrancy, Marcie turned to Lynn with a glee on her face "we can ask my mom to..."
"no!" Lynn interrupted "we can't ask your mom for any more favours"
"please Lynn"
"we aren't taking advantage of your mom any longer"
"what's the point of of belonging to a rich family if i can't help out"
Lynn heaved a heavy sigh and then looked at Marcie "what do you suggest?"
Marcie smirked and crossed her arms in front of her chest "you'll just get the good news. I'm no longer telling you the plan"
"seriously Marcie"
"I'm not joking" she stood up and glanced at her smart watch. While walking away, she said "my driver's at the gate. He'll drop you off, let's go"
Lynn thought it through and then ran after Marcie "wait for me!"

When Marcie got home, her grumbling stomach led her to the kitchen where she found her twin brothers. Louis was cooking while Bruce was sitting on the counter, keeping his brother company.
"has mom come back from the office" she asked as she opened the refrigerator and grabbed a sachet of yoghurt.
"if it's 6pm then she has" Louis replied
Before she could slit the sachet open, Louis grasped it from her.
"Louis!" she uncorked a keen cry.
"not until supper's ready" Louis said turning his back to stir the food.
Marcie shrugged and punched Louis's shoulder then ran away. Before Louis could turn she was already out of the kitchen, Bruce, laughing at his brother
"a silly girl we have as a sister" Louis softly chucked.
Marcie strode upstairs to her mother's bedroom. Upon arriving, she knocked. "come in" a voice called. Marcie walked in and spotted her mother coming out of the bathroom with a towel swathed around her. "oh my little strawberry"
"how was your day?" Marcie asked as she sat on the bed
"fabulous and yours strawberry?" Fauna asked as she stood in front of the mirror whilst drying her hair.
"it was okay" getting straight to the point, Marcie said "are there any vacancies in the company"
Fauna turned to face Marcie "you finally want to join the company?"
"no actually..."
Fauna sheered from Marcie and turned to the mirror again "then why ask?"
"for Lynn's dad"
Fauna furrowed her brows at Marcie who then added "her mother is the one who's taking care of everything plus rude treatment from her husband"
"I'll check if there's any"
Marcie pounced on her mom and gave her mom several kisses "thanks mom"
"I'm doing it for Lynn. I owe her big time"
Before leaving the room, Marcie turned and said "your son's cooking again"
"Louis. What are the chefs for if he'll be cooking for us"
"talk to him" Marcie said and closed the door. she looked left and when she turned to the right, Dean's babysitter had just come out of his room.
"good evening ma'am" Paula bowed
"good evening Paula, is Dean sleeping"
"yes ma'am"
"let me just take a look at his cute face" she said. she gestured her hand for Paula to leave. She then entered Dean's room then softly tiptoed to his cradle and leaned on it. For a while Marcie stared at Dean's cute face. Dean was Bruce's 2 year old son.
