Nathan laid beside the woman on his bed, he had told her to sleep on the couch but she remained adamant. Does she really think he can't kill her?, He towered over her looking at her face keenly, he knew she wasn't sleeping.
I stiffened when I felt him leaning on me, I gently opened one eye to see if he was still there. Nathan watched the woman amused, he leaned in on her as their nose rubbed each other.
"What are you doing?" I asked him, he also didn't know the reason why he was interested in her, he should be repulsive towards.her.
"Did you know Rose?" he asked me and I nodded, his father had asked of Rose and he doesn't have an idea of who the woman was
"Who is she?" he asked me again.
"Me" I said and he raised his brows.
"I don't mean you, I mean my wife Rose?" he asked again.
"Me" I said again and he creased his forehead.
"What do you mean by you, you are my maid" he reminded me. I felt tears threatening to come out at the back of my eyes. I tried to suppress them, I wasn't going to cry in front of him.
"Don't you really remember me?" I asked him again but he looked more confused. He wanted to get away from me but I pulled him back.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, "Maybe if I do this, you would remember who I really am" I said as I leaned in to kiss him. I delved deeper into his mouth, I probed further as our tongues kept playing tags with each other, Nathan had never felt this way before, he felt his heart pounding hard in his chest. He really wanted to stop this but he couldn't, she tasted so sweet like berries. He wanted more of her sweetness. He tilted her head back as he sucked on her neck.
I tilted my head back to give him more access to me and I started to undress him. His eyes widened at what I was doing, he broke the kiss as he suddenly got up from me. it dawned on me that he was leaving the room I quickly got up to run after him, I couldn't let him go. Accidentally, I stepped on my dress and stumbled forward. I hit my ankle hard and yelped in pain.
"Ahh, Nathan please help me" I begged him and he rushed back to me.
"What happened to you?" he asked me and I pointed to my ankle..I stretched my arms towards him indicating him to carry me, he raised his brows at me and he pulled my hand instead.
"Come" he said as he walked to the bed, I dragged my feet to meet him, he applied the ointment but he asked me to rub it myself and he walked out.
I didn't see him for the rest of the day, I kept looking for him everywhere. I asked Zach where he might be but the demon wasn't ready to spill it out.
"Zach, please I have been looking for him, I can't find him" I complained, Zach looked around looking for what to say. He couldn't tell on his friend that he went to a brothel.
"Rose I really don't know where he went, you should relax, he isn't running away, he would be back" he said and I sighed. I went back to our room waiting for Nathan, I didn't know why I was worried unnecessarily, he was a demon and he could protect himself.
He came back late in the night just like he did last night. He was squiffy and had that woman smell on him, I couldn't help but think about the fun he was having with women, when I was busy looking for him?.
Why was he behaving like this?, was this the way he behaved before he met me?, this was very bad. I wished he could remember everything and stop constituting nuisance.
"You dare to say that about your master?" he asked and I gave him no reply. He pounced on the bed and I didn't have any space to sleep so I went to the couch instead.
"Ahhh" Nathan yelled from his sleep, I guess he was having a nightmare. I rushed to meet him and wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug, he didn't push me away and I was thankful for that.
"What happened to you?" I asked when I saw sweat beads on his forehead, he really was having a bad nightmare. He looked around confused.
He kept his head on my chest, I caressed his hair as I sang him a lullaby. Soon, his breathing was normal and he was no longer dripping with sweats.
"Where did you learn it from?" he asked me.
"From my mother, she always sang the lullaby to me whenever I had a nightmare" I explained.
"Why did you sing it to me, you should sing it to someone important since your mother sang it to you" he said, I couldn't believe he was saying all that. He was very important to me, very important. I loved him so much, he was the only person I would love.
I gently laid him on the bed, he had slept already. I crawled back but he wrapped his arms around my waist to pull me back.
"Sleep here with me" he said and I smiled at him, I snuggled closer to him as I wrapped my arms around his waist and fell asleep.
.....
"Would you go out with me?" I asked him after I finished eating breakfast.
"Where?" he asked.
"To the market, I want to buy the Chinese lantern" I told him.
"What for?' he asked, he wasn't ready to go without a relevant reason.
"I heard that if you write your wish in it and the lantern flies high in the sky, it would come true" I said hoping that he would believe me, he smirked at me and said.
"That is just a lie to fool people, wishes doesn't come true" he said, he wasn't going to buy that nonsense and I creased my forehead at him.
"Why don't we give it a try?" I asked him.
