Chapter 3: Magic
It's been almost two weeks since I gain my consciousness as an unborn baby, and a few nights ago I have come to know the existence of magic in this world. From that moment I want to use magic myself.
But because I can't see right now so I have no idea where to start with, Catherine uses chants like illuminate to use magic. ls that how you use magic by chanting.
When she uses magic again I will try to copy her, she's not using any magic right now so I have to wait till she uses magic again.
Hmm, I think Catherine is making breakfast right now, and it seems like David is practicing his sword skills.
I can't see but I can hear and tell what people are doing.
"Dear, come and eat breakfast before it gets cold" she called David for breakfast.
" Panting panting …coming!" David replied and put down his weapon.
I don't have to eat, breathe, or excreta
because of the placenta.it is an organ that develops in a women's uterus during pregnancy. this structure provides me with oxygen, nutrition and also removes waste products from my blood. It is attached one side to the mother's uterus and on the other side to my umbilical cord. Well, I had been pursuing my career in science, so knowing all this and that is no big deal for me.
Though I still want to eat something, I'm starting to feel like a patient who is living on glucose and can't eat anything.
Can't move freely, can't eat whatever I want. I'm starting to feel impatient, it's good that I don't have to wait very long because Catherine is almost nine months pregnant so she can give birth to me anytime. So I just have to wait for my birth. It feels so awkward saying wait for my birth.
"How's the food?" She asked with a smile.
"It's good as always," David replied with a big goofy smile.
"I'm done." He said.
"Oh.. you finished your food already but I still have some food remaining." She said that and started to finish her food quickly.
"You don't have to rush, you are pregnant so just take your time." He waited for Catherine to finish her food.
He was staring at her face while she was eating her food. After finishing her food she started to gather plates for washing but David stopped her.
"Let me do the cleaning." He said and take all the dishes from Catherine's hand.
"Da…darling let me do it aren't you getting late for your work." Catherine's hesitant at first because normally males don't help with house chores.
"I know you work very hard all day and I can't spare time for you so let me at least do this for you." He said.
"Ok honey, I'm off." After washing the dishes he went to his guard duty.
"Take care honey and come home soon." She sent him to his job with a kiss.
After that, She immediately started to do other house chores.
"illuminate" she chanted those words again perhaps she doesn't know other magics, but that's also amazing.
I did not notice but whenever Catherine uses magic there is a flow of energy, That I can barely feel and that energy is gathering inside her chest. I don't know if she knows about this or not but I assume that she can't feel this energy.
In my past life l had read lots of novels for fun and if I recall correctly then this energy is called mana but I'm not sure.
should I also try to gather this energy in my body?
Let's give it a shot, first close your eyes and don't let any thoughts cross your mind just focus and try to feel the energy of the surroundings, I have some experience because I did yoga regularly in my past life, it helps you to keep your mind calm.
Hmm, I'm starting to feel tingling on my back, is it working, that is a lot easier than I thought. Now is not the time to get distracted, let's focus and slowly circulate this energy to my body. This is amazing, it's completely a new feeling all of my senses are getting sharper and clearer.
Now is the right time to try using magic.
'Illumination' I'm not able to chant as Catherine that's why I just thought of the chants. I did not think it will work but the magic worked and glow far more Brighter than Catherine's magic.
"Ah!? what is happening, why is my body glowing so brightly?" Catherine said that in tremendous shock.
"Goddess Alesia, I beg you, please protect my child, I beg you." She fell on the and closed her eyes and hands and started to pray her.
She did not pray even once for her safety, instead, she kept praying for her child.
Seeing her like this makes my heartache. I don't know why I'm feeling like this for her, I have only known her for a few weeks, maybe it's because of her love because since my previous life I had been wanted to feel love but I never get any.
The uncle who had adopted me after my parents' deaths was an alcoholic and started to use violence against me after some time, he only adopted me because of my parent's insurance money which only he knew about.
His behavior became worst day by day, he beat me to vent his anger out, and when I couldn't take it anymore I decided to kill him. He came home drunk every night and that night too he was fully drunk. He immediately went to sleep in his room, I went into the kitchen and grabbed the sharpest knife from the kitchen.
He was sleeping deeply, the room was echoing because of his snoring, my heart was racing very fast, that time there was some excitement and fear in my heart.
I placed the knife in his throat and sliced his throat, he only suffered for a while then his body stopped moving.
I'm sure he did feel the pain because of how quickly he died but I was very happy and my hands were shaking but I had a smile on my face.
The next day our neighbor reported me to the police because I was a minor they sent me juvenile Center. I was only 9 years old at that time, I did not understand why they sent me there I did nothing wrong. I was in the juvenile center for 5 years.
So it's the first time someone cares about me this much and loves me without something in return. Is this what people call motherly love.
