Chapter 51: Chapter 50
"I have a big feeling that we're dealing with shadows here", I said and looked at everyone in the room.
Alpha Harry, Luna Nina, Maxine ,beta Gideon, Fabian and I were in alpha Harry's office discussing on what could be the cause of the killings. It needed to be dealt with immediately before it got out of hands. Even vampires that are practically immortal were being killed mysteriously.
Fabian looked at me, "what do you mean?"
"Shadows are creatures that we are yet to know about. We don't know how they cane about,what they do, how they feed, their habitats or just anything at all. The only information we have about them is that, they are scared of fire"
"How do you know they exist? Did they threaten you?"
I took a deep breath, "this was supposed to be confidential information between the oracle and I,not even my mate knows about this. Javier is a descendant from a Phoenix and it seems like his life is in danger and we don't know what they want with him. We have reasons to believe that they're most probably looking for other children descended from powerful beings. We have a child who is the direct descendent of the moon goddess in our care, whose life is also in danger. They're probably the cause of adrianna's death"
"You mean the former Luna?"
"Yes, no one knows how or if she died but we know that they are responsible for it", the only person that did know was her son who had his memories wiped.
"Javier doesn't know that does he?" Maxine asked with a sigh.
"He believes she died during birth and it's for his own good"
"What do you mean by they're probably looking for children of direct descendant of powerful beings"
"I don't know what they want with them but the two know victims that are alive are children of powerful beings. We most probably need to find the other children before it's too late. They are fucking dangerous because we don't know anything about them and are not to be messed with and maybe...just maybe, Dakota knew something about it before she died.
"What if they're is something bigger than the shadows? Someone in the background controlling everything", max says.
"What do you mean?"
"What if these creatures were born from an experiment or a spell gone wrong, they are definitely no know records of their existence. It'll probably be hard to deal with them?"
To be honest it could be true that there was someone behind all this but I couldn't think they could a creature strong enough to summon a whole race of mysterious supernaturals. Not even witches could accomplish that, their powers were limited.
"Whatever those things are need to be investigated now and fast. We don't have time to wait around. My men are dying and soon they will spread and threaten the existence of other beings", Fabian says.
"Don't you think it's better to contact the king"
"We are keeping it low for now,we can't disturb the royals. They have other things to worry about."
Beta Gideon clears his throat before speaking, "we are all at risk. We can't have so many people die before the royals are contacted. Surely the safety of the people is important"
"I'll see if I can contact Casper to reach the royals. In the mean time, is there any way we could contact any witch in existence? They might know something about it"
"No",Luna minnette shakes her head, "they are perfectly content with building safe lives with the humans. The only few that are contacted aren't pure witches and want nothing to do with all this"
"How about you come back to the capital with me Fabian. You can see the king personally and discuss all of this with him"
"That would be good"
"Will alpha Casper be okay with this?"
I nod, "I'll call him and explain the situation with him"
"Can we go now? I'm starving", Maxine complains and pouts a bit.
Alpha Harry sighs and nods, "I guess we can conclude the meeting here today"
Fabian was first to leaving, murmuring something about work before taking his bow. Then, Maxine and I followed.
"Mommy", Javier says as he runs into my arms with Tammy and Isaac right behind him. I pick him up and balance him on my hips with a wide smile.
"What's wrong baby?"
"I haven't seen you in like—forever" he exaggerates.
"I've just been really busy but we can go play some games"
"Not now, I'm playing with Tammy and Isaac " he gives me a quick peck on the cheek before kicking his legs signaling for me to put him back on the ground.
Isaac smirks at me before taking Javier's hand in his, "I'm dad and husband material. What more do you need?"
"Age and height", I answer and chuckle.
"Take my hand too", Tammy grumbles and pouts before grabbing isaac's hand.
"It's not what it looks like babe", I hear a shriek before I could even chuckle at what Isaac said.
"Isaac", I hear violetta scream, "I hope those kids aren't on fire"
"Does this house ever experience a moment of peace and quiet? ", I struggle to hold back my laughter. I look over at Maxine who is just laughing her guts out.
"It was just one time", he screams at her.
"You burnt the kids?", I hear Luna Nina's panicked voice behind us.
"It was just one time and it wasn't bad. They weren't hurt"
"Just one time?", Violet scoffs and put her hands on her hips.
"Shut it violetta, your voice pisses me off", one of the twins says as he passes by the commotion in the hallway.
"David", Luna Nina scolds.
Violet pouts before talking back, "you stink"
"So do you, that's why jasper likes jessica not you" he replies with a smirk.
"Mum", violetta shrieks with tears in her eyes.
She pinches the bridge of her nose before throwing her hands in the air, "Harry come deal with your kids. I'm done"
Alpha Harry rushed to the scene trying to console both Luna Nina and violetta. No matter how loud this was,it was still the perfect family scene. One day Casper and I are going to achieve that.
"I feel a headache coming on. Will Javier be okay with you?"
Maxine stifles a giggle at the sight before her and nods, "you go up ahead. I'll stay with the kids"
"Thanks", I murmur and quietly detach myself from the crazy scene and continue upstairs before heading to my room.
I press my fingers to my burning forehead and decide that a cold shower is probably what I needed. I strip carefully before taking a quick cold shower and dressing up in a pair of sweatpants and sweat shirt.When I finish, I decide to call Casper to tell him about the meeting.
"Hey love", I feel my headache lessen at the sound of his voice.
"Did I wake you up?"
"No, no you didn't", I hear rustling of sheets before a click, "you okay? or do you just miss me to much?"
I roll my eyes, "I just wanted to brief you on the meeting we had to today"
"I guess nothing happened much except that we've agreed that the royals of both vampires and were-wolves should know about this. Fabian has also agreed to come back to the capital with me to personally talk to the king and queen."
"You mean that blood-sucking creature", I could hear his distaste.
"A vampire Casper, pronounce it with me, vam-pi-re"

Before I could reply to him, a sudden wave of nausea passed through me which had me running to the bathroom and throwing up in the toilet. I flush and rinse my mouth before taking deep breaths.
I go back to my room and pick up the phone I dropped on the bed in a hurry to rush to the toilet.
"Are you okay odetta?"
"Bloody hell, answer me"
"What's wrong?"
I sit on the carpeted floor and rest my head on the frame of the bed, "I'm okay Casper"
"Are you sure? what happened?"
"I just threw up nothing big happened. I haven't been feeling great lately"
"I'm sure it's that vampire being around all the damn time"
"He doesn't even live here", I struggle to hold back my laughter.
"When you come back, I'm going to fuck his scent from you"
"Oh no, we're definitely not fucking anymore, you've hit your mark alright"
"Hit what fucking mark?"
I take a deep breath, "I think I might be pregnant Casper"
