Chapter 6: Cara Einhart
"That's right. This is a storage ring that has the storage of three chests this size." Patriarch Colton explained while gesturing to the treasure chest behind him. He then handed the ring to James making him quickly put the rusty piece of metal on his finger.
"How do I use it?" James asked in confusion as he poked at the item and wondered if there was a trigger word.
"Try sending your Qi inside the ring. When you do this you can open it and if you leave some of your Qi inside you can even lock it from anyone that is below you in terms of cultivation." Patriarch Colton explained.
James quickly tried taking some of the Qi he had stored in his dantian and released it into the rusty ring which had an effect that James couldn't believe.
In James' mind he could feel the exact amount of space Patriarch Colton talked about and when James thought of putting his new sword inside it the item suddenly disappeared from his hand and went inside the mental image he had of the ring.
"This is amazing! Thank you, Patriarch!" James said with thankfulness as he bowed his head.
"This is but a small thing for the suffering you have gone through. Now go from here and head to the lowest layer of this mountain. That is where you will start as an Outer Disciple. You can even find your residence with the use of that token I gave you. We will all be watching over you and I pray for your future prospects." Patriarch Colton said with a wide smile while leading James out of the temple.
After James was brought out from the temple Patriarch Colton told James the directions to get to his new home while also wishing him well.
'So this is going to be my new life? I really miss my family.' James thought to himself as he made his way down the mountain.
Despite seeing so many amazing things and even gaining some things of his own it was like there was a hole in the center of his heart that was slowly eroding his mind.
"Hey what are you doing here?!" A voice shouted suddenly bringing James out of his thoughts. When James looked up he saw a younger man running toward him at a fast speed.
"What do you mean? I'm just heading toward my home in the Outer Disciple's area." James explained to the man approaching.
"AN OUTER DISCIPLE?! WHAT GAVE YOU THE WILL TO DARE COME TO THE CORE DISCIPLE AREA!" The young man shouted once he arrived in front of James. When he did this he also exuded a force that was similar to the one James faced from the elders but much weaker.
"UGH!" James shouted in pain as he was forced to one knee from the sudden pressure.
"You are still conscious? While this is impressive it doesn't change the fact you have trespassed in the Core Disciple area. For this mistake, you must explode your dantian and leave this place!" The young man said while still releasing the pressure onto James' body.
While James was struggling under the pressure he heard the sounds of people talking nearby, "It's Ricard again! Despite having such an aptitude for cultivation his attitude is the worst! I pray for that guy."
James heard similar thoughts all around him and cursed his bad luck to meet such a person. He planned to explain the entire thing but under the pressure of Ricard, James had no way of speaking!
"RICARD STOP RIGHT NOW!" A woman's voice shouted out of nowhere. Right after this voice reached James' ears the pressure he was feeling before suddenly lifted.
"GAHHH!" Ricard shouted in pain before he fell to the ground unconscious with foam coming out of his mouth.
'What just happened?!' James thought in confusion as he finally looked up from his position. However, the first thing his eyes met when he looked up was the eyes of another.
'Wow.' James thought to himself as he saw pure white eyes. Eyes that had no pupils and seemed to hold a winter so strong that nobody could resist the cold.
"Who are you?" The person asked as James quickly backed away and took in their full figure.
The person in front of James was a beautiful woman that could steal the heart of anyone she passed with long flowing white hair that accompanied her pure white eyes. In addition, she had generous curves in all the right areas igniting the lust of any man she might pass.
"Look Ice Princess Cara is actually talking to that person!"
"Is the sky falling?! How is this possible?!"
"Umm.. I'm James Blood. Who are you?" James asked after standing back up and looking the woman in the face. From what James could tell the girl was multiple years older than himself seemingly in her late 20s while James was in his late teens.
"You don't know who I am? It truly seems you are new here. I'm Cara Einhart, a Sworn Sword Disciple." Cara explained with a smile on her face after seeing James' shocked reaction to the news.
'SWORN SWORD DISCIPLE?!' James thought in shock as he remembered those people were the strongest and most influential under the elders in the sect!
"Thank you for your help but, why did you help me?" James asked in confusion as Cara got closer and closer to him. James tried to back up but suddenly found his back against the wall and Cara didn't stop moving.
She continued getting closer and closer until her face was so close to James' that he could feel her breathing before she put her lips right beside his ear, "It's because we are similar. I have never met someone so close to myself." Cara said before backing away slightly.
"S-similar how?" James asked while his face reddened.
Cara then put her finger over her lips in a shushing gesture, "It's a secret. Since you're new I will escort you to the Outer Disciple area so you won't have trouble like before, follow me." Cara said before turning around and walking away.
