Noel patted her half-full stomach and stood up. She took the last key in her hand and proceed to walk to the last door yet to be opened. It was said that people are afraid of the unknown but Noel, other than death, had not feared anything over her 19 years of life.
Standing in front of the door, Noel carefully opened it with a key and take a peek inside, and just like she saw, the room was gigantic, it was puzzling how a small laboratory could have such a place.
The circular apparatus was in the middle of the room and Noel cautiously walked over, avoiding the small wires on the floor. Now that Noel was inside, she gazes at the big wires connected to the apparatus and exclaimed. She can literally see the electricity flowing inside the semi-transparent wires.
And unlike the screen she watched, Noel can see the center of the apparatus, the hollow center was filled with wriggling blue matters that Noel doesn't know what was called.
As Noel stared at that hollow center, a red glow catches her attention, two meters away from the apparatus was a square device. Noel curiously approached it.
On the device were a screen and little buttons of different colors. Noel guessed that it's the apparatus controller or something similar like that.
She softly tapped the screen and to her surprise, a line of numbers suddenly appeared from the empty screen. Unknown symbols and plenty of digits materialized on the screen and it started loading after a few minutes. Noel watched in amazement as all of this happened.
While watching the screen finished loading, a screen asking for a password stomped Noel's enthusiasm.
"I don't know this." Noel mournfully bit her nails and remembered the small room full of folders.
'Maybe one of the folders contains the password!'
Noel pumped up and run to the small room again, as she remembered the first folder, she quickly picked it up and skimmed through the content, noting down the important parts.
'Hmm. Proceeding in attempting to connect to the other word line is successful.'
'Coordinates E2-AR78.9120'
'The world line E2-AR78.9120 is currently stable and safe.'
'Time discrepancy between two different world lines is still unknown.'
'E2 can now be crossed as long as the energy for the Door is filled.'
'01-74-00-80-01'
Noel gazed at the numbers on the last page and brought the folder with her to the last door.
Noel stride in again and neared the square device, comparing the blank spaces of the screen to the numbers she'd found, and as she'd expected, she was right.
She quickly typed the numbers and bypass the password problem but then, she was presented with another dilemma. How do you activate this?
Noel only saw a lot of words and blanks. She gritted her teeth and read the contents of the folder again.
After persevering, Noel slowly filled the blanks on the screen while tapping the colorful buttons of the device. After filling up the blanks, Noel watched as the screen show another loafing screen.
After she waited for it to turn to 100%, Noel noticed how the blue matters in the center of the circular apparatus changed colors. Various colors seem to swim in the hollow center of the apparatus. The various glowing wires also dimmed.
*Ting*
Noel turned her head back at the screen and saw the message 'Successfully connected.'
She put down the folder in her hand and came closer to the apparatus, a strange calling seems to seduce her to enter the colorful matters of the apparatus.
Just centimeters away from the colorful matters, Noel's blank eyes regained their clarity and she subconsciously steps back, only to feel a hand pushed her in.
Noel's whole body was pushed into the colorful matters, leaving no trace of her in the room. The whole circular apparatus crushed down as the various wires exploded, the folder burned to ashes, and the electricity running the laboratory came to a stop.
In the sudden silence of the room, only a light sigh can be heard.
