Chapter 22: 21) I've seen better
I clench my lower lip between my teeth and hurry to cast a quick glance towards the camping tends
to make sure they are all asleep, regardless of the two that are having fun.
I take a deep breath and resume looking at the clear waters of the river in front of me,
shivering when I step forward and the water starts to wet my ankles.
A feeling of pleasure leads me to throw my head back slightly as I start to mentally agree with Ian and his stupid, banal legend.
"Hell with it!" - I begin to swear in a low voice, resuming looking over my shoulder for a
thousandth of a second to make sure everyone is really asleep, so I bring my hands at the base of my sweatshirt and I hurry to take it off before I realize
how crazy the idea of taking a bath in this river now is.
It's probably after midnight, but that doesn't stop me from continuing to look towards the tends while I bring my hand up to the button of the light shorts that I have decided to
wear.
I hurry to throw my garments ashore, far enough away so that they don't
get wet, and then even deprive me of the elastic that tightens my hair and let the
soft, wavy locks fall on my shoulders.
Only now I realize how much my hair has grown, so much so that I risk getting the spikes wet when the water reaches my hips.
I close my eyes and let the slow flow of water caress my legs, though
I start shaking when my panties get wet.
I wonder why it hasn't occurred to me to take a trip like this before.
Now that I have this place memorized I promise myself to return, with or without my friends.
I fold the corners of my mouth up, opening my lids wide to stare at the moon
lights up the river, as I take a turn around myself slowly with the intention of
memorizing every single detail of the forest that surrounds me, but my lips leave
a moan and jump in place in fear when my eyes land on the figure of a
man leaning against the trunk of a tree near my tent, while staring at me from
far away with a lit cigarette between his lips.
I just notice how wide his shoulders are and how serious his expression is to
understand that it's Matthew, so I hurry to cross my arms to my chest to hide my skin and turn away from him, even if it's not the first time he watches me in
this conditions.
«Calm down.» - his voice is so hoarse that I can hardly understand what he is saying, but I am
so embarrassed right now that I let him continue:
"I have seen better." - he shamelessly reproaches me, giving me the courage to dissolve
my arms and turn back to his side, but now his shoulders are no longer pressed against
the tree.
He walks in the direction of the shore until he is a step away from my clothes,
but I hasten to retort without giving him the time to say anything else to put me off:
"That's why you were staring at me?" - I ask outspokenly, while I carry a lock
long of hair behind the ear, at the exact moment in which he lowers to my
clothes thrown on the ground, while I squint when he grabs my elastic between the index and
the middle finger, standing up again to look at me with arrogance.
"I was there before you arrived." - he says after throwing his cigarette butt on the ground,
as he slips my elastic into the back pocket of his jeans, but I'm too distracted
to ask him to give me the clothespin when I realize his words.
If he was outside his tent ... who was keeping his cousin company?
I widen my eyes as the thoughts start to haunt me again, but he doesn't give me the time to
give an answer to my questions and I frown when i see him unbutton his jeans like I did a little while ago.
"What are you doing?" - I ask alarmed, while I squeeze my eyelids to pretend not to see him
undress, but I blush violently when he discovers the huge muscles of his legs.
He doesn't answer my question and avoids looking at me with his indifferent expression
to make me understand that he would do it even if I wasn't there.
If it weren't for his bullshit I would have already gotten out of the river and rushed to
cover my skin, but I don't want to ruin this evening because of some bastard.
I came here before him and I decide to relax regardless of his presence, then
I hasten to take my eyes off his giant boxers as soon as I notice he's on the point
of taking off his shirt.
I'm not going to drool in front of his Greek statue body and I don't want to either
give importance to his presence, so I just turn my back on him and resume
admirimg the row of trees in front of me.
I jump when I hear him dive behind me, while droplets of frozen water end up on my back, half covered by my soft waves.
I try to calm down and not think about the fact that I'm half naked in front of the eyes of the my boss.
He himself made me understand that he had seen better and I'm sure my shapes make him
so disgusted that he doesn't even want to look at my body right now.
At times like these I wish I had attended the gym where I work, but not to attract
the attention of this bastard, indeed, not to feel weak in front of him and that red-haired woman.
I straighten my back and glance at Matthew's reflection in front of me to understand
that he is behind me right now.
I also notice the heavy sighs
that his lips leaves as he approaches behind me.
I clench my jaw and continue to avoid him to make him understand that his proximity doesn't have any
effect on me, but from my mouth comes out a sudden moan of amazement and pleasure at the same time when
I feel his hand encircle my upper arm, brushing my armpit with
his index finger as the chills begin to run through my lower abdomen.
