Chapter 6: Chapter 5: Do they know Adam?
It was tiring. Really tiring. I don't think this body ever worked like that willingly. With the already present wounds on the body, my body started to hurt even more. My heart was beating extremely fast making me breathe faster and faster. I could barely even move my back.
The old man was happy with my work and was generous. I expected them to give me like 20 bucks and call it a day but to my surprise, he handed me a 100 dollar note. Since I needed the money I didn't refuse.
He told me there were other houses that were also looking for people to help them clean out and gave me some addresses. He told me to mention his name when I get there. I thanked him for the help and started making my way home. Well, I don't know if I will ever consider that place home but whatever.
It took way longer than I thought it would and it was already noon. On my way, I bought myself a turkey sandwich and an energy drink thinking I probably wasn't going to get much or any food. I mean I didn't even get to eat breakfast.
On my way home I noticed some strange men glaring at me. I don't really know if they know me or not. Well, I should say if they know Adam or not.
When I recalled Adam's memories I wasn't able to recall everything perfectly. There were gaps in the memories. I couldn't remember what happened right before I woke up in his body or the last few days. I don't know what happened during that time for Adam to end up in such a state but I need to be careful. If someone did this to Adam with the intention to kill then they might come for me again when they see an alive Adam walking about.
I sneaked into the house and went straight to my room without being noticed. I don't even know if anyone was home or not but I didn't want to risk it. The less interaction the better.
I took my time eating my food and gulped it down with the drink. I'm going to be checking out some of the addresses the old man gave to me. As long as I can earn money for now. I will buy some proper clothes and apply for a part-time job for minors somewhere.
It would be troublesome if the uncle's family gets curious about me going out all the time so I need to come up with an excuse. The friends that texted Adam, maybe they can help. If I ask them to cover for me they probably will. I will need to talk to them soon.
After eating I spent my time researching this world's history to learn as much as I can.
