Chapter 5: Part 5

Sung-Jin woos POV
We rode across the open land in the carriage as I lamented on the slow travelling speed thinking that flying would be better. I eventually chose against that idea as I didn't want to ruin the current life I had by exposing my powers to the rest of the group.
It became close to night so we set up camp nearby close to a lake with a waterfall and a wonderful view of the everlasting forest.I sighed inwardly at the thought of one of the strongest beings in the universe to camp outdoors, which made me realise that this is my first time camping. I wondered why I had never went before until the realisation dawned on me of the fact that my father had disappeared in a portal and my mother was in a coma for 10 years so I never had the choice.
I sighed as I walked over to help Rey, Adam, and Durden to set up camp as everyone else went to go bathe in the lake. I looked over to see Arthur being unwillingly dragged over to get cleaned as I smiled at the thought of how uncomfortable it must be for him. We continued to set up camp as the sun began to set and the others came back in clean clothes with a disgruntled Arthur who looked like he wanted to die. I sniggered under my breath which caught his attention and looked at me with daggers in his eyes.
I turned away to walk off to the main area where they tried at making a fire many times and failing. I walked up to them and a tiny purple flame appeared at my finger tip and fell on the pile of sticks and logs of wood. Thankfully I made my abilities unknown to them and they assumed that they finally got the fire started.
After a long while where everyone camped around the fire looking at the sizzling piece of meat that was turning over the fire it was finally ready
"Who wants food?!" Rey shouted with enthusiasm and hunger in his voice as he salivated.
They all held up plates as I stood to the side leaning on a tree watching the starry sky to which I grew attached to after returning from the chaos world all those years ago. The complete grey and dull sky in the chaos world was one of the things which I always hated about the place, other than the silence which would drive anyone insane.
I turned to see all of them wolfing down the food at a rate that would make you think it was their first time eating and with a sigh I returned to watching the stars. I felt a familiar small presence walking towards me, prompting me to turn my head to see Arthur coming towards me.
Arthur leywins POV
I notice uncle Jin woo leaning on a tree away from the constant buzz and laughter of everyone else like a shadow, marching into the darkness. I got up and walked toward him with Amy confidence brimming at full capacity, and eventually came to stand next to him causing him to turn his head toward me.
I felt the experience that radiated out of his eyes as I wouldn't be able to imagine the horrors that he had seen and fought to be able to put at a pressure that made everyone inferior to him.
"Are you not joining us? There's still some food left" I asked.
"Nah, I don't need food" he said.
"Well at least you can come and join in, you look like a loner over here" I said to him in a resolute and determined voice that would make most people question if this was a child.
The response that I got was a chuckle from the tall man as he patted my head and walked toward the rest. As he walked past I could see his shadow flicker in the remaining light, making me confused before shaking my head and walking back to sit with him.
For the next hour or so we were all talking about stories of the adventures that the twin horns went on before we debated who would stay watch for the night.
"I'll do it" said Jin woo.
"Are you sure?" Rey said.
"Ye, someone else can do it if you don't want to" said Helen.
"It's fine, I'll do it" said Jin woo
We all eventually went to bed and said good night to each other.
Sung-Jin woos POV
As they all left to go into their tents to sleep I returned to looking up at the stars as they each shouted good night from their tents causing me to almost jump. I then took out a cigarette from my storage space and lit it whilst continuing to look at the stars.
"Igrit, take some of your knights and guard the surrounding area" I said.
"Yes my liege" Igrit said as he appeared behind me in a bow before leaving with twenty odd knights and had begun guarding the area.
"Beru, take some of your ants and fly across the map to gather information about the different areas of the continent" I said as the ant king appeared behind me in an enthusiastic manner.
"Yes, my lord...but may I ask something my lord" beru said.
"Sure" I replied.
"May I ask if I can kill some of the monsters around the place?" Beru asked with puppy eyes
I was shocked at the simple request of him whilst frowning at the face he's pulling. "Sure, but don't go overboard and kill every single creature on the continent" I said warning him.
"Thank you my lord, your humble servant shall gladly reap all the enemies in your way for all eternity...
"Cut it" I said sternly before he bowed once more and left with the ants.
"Sigh..I should have really blocked the historical dramas on the tv" I said lamenting at the face that this will never go away.
I turned back to the stars with the cigarette still in my mouth whilst the crackling of the remnant of the fire continued whilst I smiled at the peacefulness of this planet compared to the loud one I originated from.
The night passed as I decided to go get washed whilst everyone else was asleep, although I could do it in an instant it made me feel uncomfortable as it doesn't give the satisfaction of cleanliness. I went to the nearby lake and got undressed to my boxers before going in and giving myself a wash. I looked at myself to see the scars of my time fighting the monarchs in the chaos world before cleaning myself. After the satisfactory feeling of being clean I walked out of the lake then got myself dry and dressed again before walking back.
As I went back to the camp I realised that the sun was beginning to rise as I took out another cigarette and sat down again to smoke.
After everyone we set off again on the very slow and bumpy road as they all talked. I was surprised at how they could continue their conversations for hours on end.
"Jin woo" Rey called for me.
I looked up to see then all looking at me. "Sorry did you ask me something?" I asked in confusion as I rarely ever spaced out.
"We asked if you had any family" Angela asked.
I thought about it for a brief period of time before sighing and telling them some part of the truth. "Well my father died when I was young, and my mother fell into a coma and died as her body couldn't handle itself anymore, and my sister... she was murdered" I said clenching my fists and remembering the bastard who did it and how I ripped him to shreds slowly.
I looked up to see almost all of them crying, with a look of confusion on my face. They each tried to offer me support in various ways to my problems to which I relied it was fine. Only after an hour did they stop pestering me about the issue.
A few days later
The last few days had being peaceful as we continued our journey across the mountains as we where nearing the end of the journey. As always they didn't stop talking for the entire trip giving me a minor headache whilst Beru and the rest of soldiers continued to survey the continent.
As we where crossing the mountains I had my mana sense on, surveying the area until I noticed something on the top of the cliff.
"Adam" I said causing him to turn to me. " turn your head to the right" I commanded to which he did so in confusion as an arrow pierced the cloth outlying of the carriage and went passed where Adams head was.
They all instantly turned to the source as there where dozens of bandits coming after the carriage and they got out to fight them. I watched from the sidelines protecting Arthur and Alice.
"Kill the men and keep the women and the child, we can use them before selling them to the slave traders" the leader said maliciously.
This instantly angered the twin horns as the ran towards the enemy. I watched as them engage the 30 or so bandits with 4 of them being able to use mana which proved to be a huge hindrance. I watched as Rey fought the leader of the bandits in a battle of fists as they collided with each other creating small shockwaves whilst Angela conjured a gust of wind that sweeper a number of them off their feet.
I turned to see Durden create spikes from the ground that pierced numerous bandits causing their number to dwindle rapidly. I saw that one broke through the line of defence and headed towards us with a sword. I saw that Helen tried to intercept before signalling to her that it will be alright before pointing my finger at him. He instantly turned into a pile of blood as everyone their went into total shock and horror at this whilst staring at me.
I disappeared in a flash before appearing behind another group of them. They turned to react before realising that their throats were slit and large amounts of blood gushed out.
Arthur's POV
I watched uncle Jin woo massacre the over side ruthlessly before realising that I should be lucky that he all that happened to me was I fell in mud and not be turned into a pool of blood.
I was to focused on Jin woo to not realise that another bandit had gotten through. I instantly activated my mana core as I got into my stance and rushed towards me.
"Heh, a little kid wants to take me on, grow some hairs before you do that" he mocked before swinging the sword at me.
I instantly dodged the oncoming sword shocking him before punching him in the stomach toward the edge of the cliff. I was prepared to push him off the cliff before he grabbed onto my clothes and dragged me with him.
I fell off the cliff as my mother screamed and tried to save me, which ended in failure as I continued to fall, passing out in the meantime.
Sung-Jin woos POV
I was in the middle of killing another group of bandits until I heard Alice scream. We all stopped what we were doing to see Arthur fall down the cliff with a bandit behind him.
"ARTHUR, NO!!" Screamed Rey as he ran to the cliff to prepare to jump to attempt to save him.
I arrived their before him to stop him from jumping off as he tried to move me away but couldn't.
"You also dying does not help the current situation, and you wouldn't want Alice to be widowed and your unborn child to be without a father, would you?" I asked mentioning that face of the child as he snapped back to reality and we to to comfort Alice.
As they were being dealt with I turned to the bandits releasing a small portion of my aura as they turned pale and collapsed onto their knees. I walked towards the leader, slowly, making my footsteps reverberated in his ears loudly causing him immense pain. As I reached him I reached out and grabbed his head, as I squeezed slowly causing him a vet painful death as his blood went everywhere.
I turned around and walked back as all the other bandits turned into pools of blood instantly. I retracted my aura as I reached the edge and looked down with a very faint smile as I could see that he was alive and turned around to comfort both Alice and Rey. We stayed there for a while before eventually leaving the area.
