Chapter 3: Suicide Mission
"Hello Jaewon, it's been a while, how have you been?" Aria's subtle voice could be heard on the phone as she asked.
[What's she up to this time?] Jaewon frowned in suspicion after hearing how she spoke and gave a direct answer
"I'm fine"
"Where are you now? She asked further"
"I'm... at my house " jaewon answered with a tensed voice, it was obvious that he was wary about his answer, for some reason.
"Can you meet me at the company later? There's something I wish to discuss" She said.
"When?"
"Ah... What about this evening?" she asked considerably.
"Okay" Jaewon answered without giving any thought.
"See you then," she said and hung up the phone.
[Why would she call me outside work schedule? Is it for my last mission?] Jaewon furrowed his brows as he thought. It was normal conduct of the Dahee group never to contact any special agent for work-related purposes outside the working schedule.
"Oppa, is that from your work?"
Jaewon who wore an indifferent look up till now had a sudden change in demeanor, after hearing Seohyun's voice.
"Yeah... It is"
"Huh, is that so. They don't seem to give you any rest, even after working tirelessly all week" she pouted.
"It's nothing much, just a little task that I'll have to attend to this evening"
"Humph! Whatever" she said disinterestedly and walked away.
That evening...
Jaewon had left the apartment, he was dressed in a casual outfit, and not the uniform suit he normally wore on workdays. He drove his Honda Accord, as he arrived at the vicinity of the company. The company was located on the outskirts of town, so it had taken him about half an hour to arrive at the location at an average speed.
Dahee group was a big organization with different administrative sections. This place being the main headquarters, was an extremely large estate with numerous residential areas. Just at the gate, he was stopped by some security officers for a check. He directly lowered the tinted glass of his car but didn't bother glancing at them. Noticing his identity, the security officers hastily gave way for his entry.
Jaewon had two personalities. He was seen as a cold and indifferent individual at work or during missions. Most employees at the organization, typically looked up to him with awe, as the infamous Seven-Star Agent Silva. But none knew of the fact that he was a good-natured individual in reality. He always acted sweet when he was around his family and friends, making people view him as a nice guy who wouldn't hurt a fly.
He drove to the company's main villa, of course, this was where Aria stayed. It was luxurious and spacious. After he emerged from the car, he spotted two security officers by the entrance but didn't pay attention to them. Just as he was about to enter, he was obstructed by one of them...
"Wait," the security officer said as he sent out transmission through his earphone, In an instant, he nodded in confirmation, signaling for jaewon's entry.
"I've been expecting you"
Just as jaewon entered in, he heard a delicate voice. His expression tightened, turning to a corner in the room, he could see a young beautiful lady wearing a white lace mini dress, seated on one of the numerous couches.
Jaewon frowned after seeing this and said in an indifferent tone. "What is it you wanted to talk about?"
"Do you care for a drink?" She said with a controlled smile
"No, thanks" he replied
She got up from where she was seated and walked up to him, staring directly into his eyes, she said...
"Why do you act so cold to me these days?"
Jaewon was startled by her statement, he stared back and said
"I don't, this is how I am"
After hearing this, she smiled lightly. " you know... When my dad brought you in to live with us, I felt somewhat jealous, of the attention he gave you. It wasn't until I was much older, I then realized that you were a very special person. Though I don't know what my dad saw in you, I know you are different from the rest"
Aria truly didn't know about the special power he possessed, she was still a young girl back then fourteen years ago when he came to live with them. Besides, it was only her father who knew of jaewon's abilities, that's why he trained him personally.
She reached out to him and placed her hands around his neck and said "I have always had an attraction towards you... I know my father used your family to tie you down with the company, but now it's different. I'm offering myself to you jaewon, I want you to stay with me " she said, tracing her jade-like fingers down his clothing.
Jaewon stared at her, wide-eyed in shock, just then he regained his composure, grabbed her hand, and said
"I'm sorry Miss Aria...this isn't what I want, I can't do this" Saying so he gently pushed away from her hand. "I'll try my best to complete the last mission for the company, as per the agreement, when the time comes. That would also be my last mission as an agent. He added wearing back his usual cold demeanor.
Aria pressed her lips together in annoyance, she then gave a tight-lipped smile "You're so naive, you have no idea what is up ahead" she glanced at him solemnly and said " Actually, I have the last mission for you. I know you've created miracles over the years but, I didn't want you to do it because this is a nearly impossible mission. But since you rejected my proposal, there's nothing I can do about it"
Just as she said that she tossed over a file to him. Jaewon glanced through the file, but couldn't help being petrified.
[Nearly impossible mission... Isn't this more like a suicide mission?] He thought.
