Chapter 50: war announcement
"oh, was this your toy?" I asked 'tobi' while holding the body of zetsu.
he doesn't answer and just burns holes in my head... I think he's trying to put me in an illusion.
...I send a chakra pulse out.
"UGH" flinching, he holds his hand over his eye, and groans, so I take the chance.
I jump towards him, extending my hand and coating it with my energy, and elongating the tip, and making a giant stabbing rod... I'll name it "eye-stabber", perfect for dealing with Uchiha.
but to my disappointment, Tobi managed to recover and used his Kamui to become intangible.
"What did you do?!" he asked, enraged, unfortunately for him, he still has his eye activated. and I send another chakra pulse.
"oh no, you found the counter to my jutsu... closing your eyes... eye," I say with a deadpan.
"*ahem*" he years his throat and starts talking again "for my Dream, and my loved ones, I shall bring the peace to this world, and to accomplish that, I announce the fourth great shinobi war."
we all just listen, even I don't interrupt, and by the way, he is looking at everyone I think he's expecting something from us.
"so..." I start off, "you say war, you got an army?" I present my question with a raised eyebrow.
"...yes" he responds while going into the ground.
okay, don't scree this up...
"We have Naruto" Nailed it.
everyone just looks at me with a raised eyebrow, and Tobi disappears into the ground.
I just shrug and nonchalantly start walking to the Mizukage.
"I got a present for you," I say as I hand her the scroll, while the others are looking at me still.
she just raised an eyebrow and looks at me. I lean down to her height and whisper.
"I approve"
and with that, I walk off, leaving a red-faced Kage behind and a confused crowd.
hearing footsteps behind me, I look over to see Temari walking over. mulling over something.
"what's up?" I ask her slowing down a little
"What did you tell her to make her go red?" she asked in return.
with a smirk, I tell her my reasons.
"well, I told her that I approved of her". I say like it explains everything.
"oh" turns out it did explain everything.
we walk in silence for a while before a thought accrued to me.
"we're taking this whole war declaration lightly aren't we?" no really are, I just walked out of there as nothing happened.
"you think so?"
to that, I just shrug.

"so he just declared a war?" asked Shikamaru, along with his was Sasuke, Ino, and Sakura.
"yeah, and he seemed so confident too" I reply with a shrug.
we were back at the village, discussing everything like talking about the weather.
"aren't you taking this too lightly?" asked Ino.
"you think so?" I asked, I mean what's there to react about, it's just war, right?
we talked after that for a little while, before the others left to do their thing.
all except Sasuke.
he looked over at me with a serious look.
"it's time, my sight got worse and I need Sharingan to read now"
I just gave a short nod to his statement and asked.
"when and where?"
"tonight, since the Uchiha district was on the edge of the village it still has a few houses left, we can do it there and you can also stay the night, you're house got blown away right?"
"Yeah, and it was newly bought too," I say with a dejected sigh. I paid a lot for that cozy house.
after that, we went on our way, I didn't have anything to do yet, and hoped that the Hokage wouldn't give me a D rank or anything.
"Haruto Hatake, Jounin of Konoha, I Konohamaru Sarutobi challenge you to a fight!".... who the fu... oh, it's that time, but I thought it would happen to Temari, and she isn't here, so he challenged me.
turning around I see the little twirp that challenged me. an S-rank ninja.
" you're talking to me?" I ask while pointing at myself. he takes it in stride and announces in a louder voice gathering attention.
"yes! I will prove that I can contribute to this war, and become a Hero"... this kid. is delusional. you're 12, enjoy life, why go to war?
"... kid you crazy?" I ask, genuinely curious, and maybe a little concerned.
he seemed confused so I elaborated.
"you" I point at him. " are challenging an S-rank ninja," I point back to myself "that fought most of the Akatsuki members and went up against the pain, and got out without a scratch. honestly, what are you expecting" I ask as I return my hand in my pocket.
"... I will defeat you, and prove that I can participate in this war" he answered, not losing his vigor.
with a sigh, I take out a staff from my inventory and twirl it around.
"Okay, hit me once and I'll see what I can Negotiate with the hokage." that's a lie, I ain't letting this child in a war, but hey. motivation.
