Chapter 5: Support Team
"What!"
"Uh! Run away!"
A herd of screamers was heard under then night sky, a strong smell of blood filled the air. One after another, the ghouls were beheaded under the joint effort of Koutarou and Kureo. Only a few ghouls were lucky enough to escape.
It only took less than 10 minutes from Koutarou's arrival to kill almost all twenty of the ghouls. This shows just how strong a special-class investigator is!
But in fact, the ghouls that Koutarou and Kureo jointly killed were just underlings. If they were replaced by A-level ghouls, their battle would have been much harder, death and injury would have been inevitable!
"Huh~ Ghouls should just rot in hell!"
Kureo shook his scarlet whip and said in disgust as he looked at the corpses covering the floor.
"Dont, let your guard down, Kureo! These are just weaklings, the real fight has not yet begun!"
Compared with Kureo, Koutarou is much more cautious, and he's not relaxed at all.
Kuotarou knows that these ghouls are just the little guys in the Demon Eater Group, and the real high-level ghouls have not made their appearance!
Only the leading-ghoul who was kiled in seconds could be considered a member of the high-level group.
"Papa Papa~~"
"As expected of the "Indomitable Koutarou". Both your strength and experience are extraordinary!"
Accompanied by a gentle applause, a voive full of evil was heard abruptly, Koutarou and Kureo looked towards the source of the sound, only to see an abandoned roof, this could only mean one thing a very strong ghoul has appeared!
A bright red haired man, wearing a large black windbreaker, was looking down at the two investigators mockingly!
Behind that person were dozens of Ghouls standing silently, exuding the same terrifying red light as the red haired man. A scarlet skull coat seemed to be their symbol, almost every ghoul had a terrifying appearance.
"You're the S-level ghoul known as Demon Eater, right? Unexpectedly, the intelligence was correct. As expected, your subordinates are powerful!"
Koutarou stared intensely at the leader of the group, his eyes showed disgust, he unconsciously tightened the grip on his sword with his hand.
After seeing the Demon Eater with his own eyes, Koutarou could tell that his strength was extraordinary, extremely close to hitting SS-level, otherwise, how could A-level ghouls willingly become his subordinates?
"It seems we have a tough fight ahead of us!"
Koutarou thought.
"Beep beep~~"
Suddenly, the sound of an approuching vehicle quickly approuched them. Koutarou and the ghouls both turned their heads only to see a truck approuching, with the words CCG visible on the body. It was obvious that this was the small CCG unit that came to help after receiving the help signal from Koutarou.
"Koutarou, Kureo are we late?"
As the vehicle came to a stop, several investigators jumped out it and made their way towards Koutarou and Kureo.
"Couldn't of came at a better time Ueda!"
Seeing the support arrrive, Koutarou's frowning face, finally showed a smile, looking at the leader who took the lead.
Ueda, the first-class investigator, he's an investigator Koutarou is optimistic about. After Koutarou is promoted to a special-class investigator, then the 9th districts successor will undoubtedly be Ueda.
The situation in the 9th district is very complicated, and the manpower they have is limited, so in addition to the Associate-Special class investigator Koutarou, there are many senior first-class investigators, and many more second and third class investigators!
And the unit which responded to Koutarou's request for help was Ueda's subordinates. In addition to Ueda who's a first-class investigator, there was another first-class deputy, alongside 2 second-class and 3 third-class investigators, as well as twenty soldiers with a considerable amount of combat experience as reserves.
This squad is already quite powerful inside the 9th district, however, compared to the Demon Eater group in front of them, their odds are 50/50. It's hard to say who will survive in the end!
"Hehe, I didn't expect you to have reinforcements however are you sure you want to compete with us? It's just... based on your people, are you looking down on me!?"
The unexpected arrival of Ueda and his squad made the ghouls even angrier.
In the eyes of Demon Eater, Investigators suddenly broke into his territory, with no other intentions then to attack him, destroy him, because this is a daily occurence in the 9th district!
He didn't however expect that his arrival was completely because of a child!
If he knew this, he would undoubtedly enter a state of rage. He worked so hard to create this group and endured so much, just to slowly accumulate strength and one day become the leader of the 9th district, but now his plan was destroyed because of a child!
"Stop talking nonsense, you deserve death! Go to hell ghoul!"
With the arrival of the support group, Kureo's confidence was boosted. Currently, he couldn't resist the hatred in his heart. He stretched out his hand to steal the gun from a soldier and aimed the gun towards the ghoul and fired!
"Puff Puff!"
"The battle begins! All soldiers step back to support, investigators team up and fight!"
Koutarou quickly issues the order, and the big knife in his hand slashed towards the demon at the forefront without hesitation!
Finally, the battle between the CCG and Ghoul officialy kicked off.
There's one Associate Special Class Investigator on the CCG side, 3 first-class investigators, 2 second-class investigators, 3 third-class investigators and 20 soldiers.
In the Demon Eater Group, there's 1 S-level Ghoul, 7 A-level, and 12 close to A-level!
In terms of combat effectiveness, the CCG side seemed to be at a disadvantage, but after the battle begun, the CCG easily blocked the first round of attacks from the Ghouls with excellent coordination.
"Bang! Bang!"
At the center of the battle, Koutarou and the Demon Eater were fiercely colliding. The speed of both sides was astonishing, and the collision between quinque and kagune was astonishing!
When the two sides begun fighting in full swing, located in an abandoned house not far away, a pair of black eyes stared down on the battlefield quietly.
If Kureo saw this young figure, he would immediately yell "Sly Little Ghoul" in irritation!
