Chapter 10: The secret of the ice cream shop
There was a rumbling noise then Tom felt strong notice me not charm being activated around the shop.
A door opened behind them on the back wall of the shop which was opposite the front door. Tom and the owner entered it. There were some visible stairs but other than that nothing else could be perceived.
*Lumos* Tom chanted and a bright white light. The improvement in vision was noticeable but it was not much, it was as if something was devouring the light. They both traveled deeper into the passageway. Sometime later they reached an end and there was an iron gate that was rusting. It was probably not used often.
The owner turned to face Tom and said "This is the farthest that I am able to accompany you, The wards only listen to me till the outer chamber but inside is a whole other matter. I can only wish you luck" with that he walked back up the stairs. Tom didn't give any reaction.
He walked up to the gate and put his right palm on it and said a chant which was in the ancient language of 'majo'
*ओम भू भूअ सव तस्थ वितुर वरेन्यं*
As he finished chanting the door opened inwards with a bang. Inside was empty grey walls and the only source of illumination was the miniature sun at the top. It was an intricate work of 'incendio' with a 'statico' 'modulus' charm. The spells were common, but the imaginative thought process needed to think of something this odd from simple components was praising.
