Chapter 20: Chapter 16

When Princess Freya was kidnapped, Princess Elise and Siesta were helping put bandages on the injured victim. Even though the two could use magic, it was only one circle of magic and didn't do much to heal the victims' wounds. Princess Elise looked exhausted after running here and there to provide treatment to the survivors.

"Please take some time to rest, Princess Elise. You look exhausted right now." Siesta was worried after seeing Princess Elise's pale face.

"I'm fine, Sister Siesta. You should be the one resting because your face looks much more tired than mine." Princess Elise shook her head at Siesta's request.

Siesta couldn't help but sigh when she saw the stubborn Princess Elise. He looked around the shelter for the victims, and his face turned even paler. The number of victims in that place was not small. Fortunately, the shelter was quite far from where the enemies and monsters gathered. So they can be safe for a while.

"Well, at least you rest for a bit, Princess Elise. If Princess Aishia finds out, then she will be mad at you for pushing yourself too much." Siesta slightly threatened Princess Elise.

Princess Elise trembled when her sister's name was spoken, and an expression of fear could be seen on her face.

"Well, I'll take a short break. Please replace me for a moment, sister Siesta." Princess Elise agreed reluctantly.

"All right, princess." Siesta smiled smugly at Princess Elise's reply.

"Sister Siesta, where's Ziel?" Princess Elise suddenly asked about Ziel.

"I hid him in a safer place while chasing you, Princess Elise. I was worried about your situation. That's why I decided to help you that time." Siesta explained it to Princess Elise.

"Is it safe there?" Princess Elise asked because she was still worried about Ziel's condition.

"I asked a soldier to bring him here. Ziel's condition is a bit strange. I don't know what happened to him. But why hasn't the soldier returned yet?" Siesta tried to calm Princess Elise, but she became confused because the soldiers she asked for help to pick up Ziel didn't return.

Siesta became worried because the soldier had been away for quite a while but didn't come back until now. While she was thinking about it, suddenly a voice came from outside. One of the soldiers guarding outside came to Princess Elise in a panic. The soldier stopped in front of Princess Elise while breathing heavily. Siesta had a bad feeling when she saw this.

"Report, Princess Elise! The enemy has invaded this place! You have to escape from here and take shelter in a safer place. The castle is currently in a dangerous situation, so you can't go there." The soldier reported to Princess Elise.

"What!? How many enemies are there here? After all, I have no intention of returning to the castle. I won't leave this place because I have to wait for my sister!" Princess Elise immediately rejected the soldier's request with a firm tone.

"The enemies that attacked this place were about ten people, and they were powerful. They were almost as strong as lord Theodore." The soldier replied with a frightened face.

"What!? Are you sure!?" Princess Elise panicked after hearing that. Even though she tried to be calm, she was still a little girl after all.

"Yes, I am sure!" The soldier answered confidently. Before Princess Elise could say anything, Siesta spoke first.

"We better get out of here right away, Princess Elise." Siesta gave her advice to Princess Elise. Her face was as worried as the little princesses.

"But what about the people here?" Princess Elise saw the other victims in that place, and their number was not small.

"That's..." Siesta couldn't answer because she was also worried about the same thing as Princess Elise.

Siesta couldn't help but be silent after hearing Princess Elise's question. He knew that Princess Elise's nature was the same as Princess Aishia's. Princess Elise loves the people of her kingdom very much. Siesta couldn't help but sigh heavily when she had to face the stubborn nature of the two sisters.

"What if we saw the situation first, Princess Elise? Some soldiers will start evacuating patients and taking them to a safer place." Siesta provided the most reasonable solution at this time.

"Okay. Please ask some soldiers to help evacuate the patients!" Princess Elise immediately agreed with Siesta's suggestion.

"Yes, Princess!" The soldier quickly left Princess Elise, gathered the other free soldiers, and evacuated the patients. But it turned out that what they did was too late.

There was an explosion from the direction of the shelter entrance, and the winged men charged into the place.

"What!? Why so fast? Didn't the soldiers keep them outside!!?" Princess Elise cried out in shock.

"I don't know, Princess. Perhaps the soldiers had been defeated." The soldier also panicked when the winged men barged into the shelter.

After hearing the soldier's words, Princess Elise and Siesta's faces sank. They broke out in cold sweat and didn't know what else to do.

" We have to get out of this place now, Princess!" Siesta subconsciously shouted at Princess Elise.

"But..." Princess Elise still didn't want to leave that place.

Before Princess Elise could continue speaking, Siesta had already grabbed her hand and fled through the back door. Unfortunately, the winged men were already waiting there.

"Hehe... this is the girl that the commander asked us to capture?" One of the winged men chuckled.

"What have you said? Why do you want to catch me?" Princess Elise asked in a trembling voice. Siesta quickly hid Princess Elise behind her.

"What do you guys plan to do with capturing Princess Elise?" Siesta tried to figure out their purpose.

"You don't need to know. Ah, I guess you might have misunderstood something. I need not only the girl but you too. Hahaha..." The winged men laughed loudly at Siesta's reaction.

"Me too? What are you planning to do with capturing the two of us?" Siesta narrowed her eyes and looked into their plans further. Even though she was scared, she tried to be brave.

"Didn't I tell you before that you don't need to know about it? Surrender voluntarily, or I will destroy this shelter and the people in it." The winged man suddenly laughed evilly.

"Soldier!" Princess Elise shouted for the soldiers in that place. But none of the soldiers came to her. This made Princess Elise and Siesta even more frightened.

"Hahaha... If you are looking for your soldiers, then you will not find them anywhere because they are already dead!" The winged man laughed loudly and suddenly disappeared.

"What have you done!? Hics... His..." Princess Elise was crying sadly. She could no longer keep trying to look tough. Finally, she returns to her true self, a 10-year-old girl.

While Princess Elise was crying, she suddenly felt her consciousness fade. Before she passed out, she saw that Siesta had already fallen because one of the winged men hit her from behind.

Princess Aishia was surprised because suddenly three fire spears attacked her from the sky. She had no time to dodge or set up a barrier to withstand the attack.

Booooooooooooooommmmmmmm!

A huge explosion burned the area where Princess Aishia was. The impact of the blast destroyed the surrounding buildings.

"Stupid! Didn't I tell you not to kill her!?" The commander slapped his men.

"I'm apologizing, Lord Erigos!" The winged man could only lower his head in front of the angry commander. Just as the winged man had said, the white-haired man acting as commander was called Erigos. It was still unknown why he had come to the Argaint Kingdom with tens of thousands of magical beasts and wreaked havoc on the place.

"If she dies, next is you!" Erigos said in a threatening tone.

After the smoke and dust from the explosion slowly dissipated, what appeared there shocked Erigos and his men. Princess Aishia was fine there with a gray tortoise shell-shaped barrier protecting her.
