Chapter 7: EPISODE 6: DISHONESTY...BEGINS

Inside the messy room, the ground full of glass pieces and bloody hankies, Adelaine's face can't be drawn. She was curious and confused as she tries to remember Travis' words and actions last night.

Her eyes narrowed as she mentions to Cass everything that had happened last night.

She was in deep thoughts, making her statement very detailed to Cassidy.

"He entered the room with a sharp look on me. He--he was holding a bottle full of alcohol and then he came closer to me.

I- I was scared, you know. That's why...I backed off away from him but he looked like a mad guy."

With serious looks, Cassidy was all ears. She sat at the bedside, listening to every word she says.

"He said, 'Can't you see me? I was the one who stayed with you all the time.' I had no idea of what he was saying, so I asked him what is he talking about. But his anger worsened that he threw a fist on the wall. I wasn't able to stand his actions and I started to talk."

She looked down when she remembered her words to Travis last night.

"What did you tell him?"

"I told him that he's just a stranger that took me in on his room for a night and nothing more. He threw my frames and souvenirs. Those glass pieces hit my legs and I started bleeding. He was suddenly acting strange. He was fidgeting and he suddenly picked a glass piece from the ground. He pointed the glass piece at his neck. I was scared! So I run to him and tried to take the glass piece away from him. But he was holding too tight onto it, and so I did, too. That's how my hands started to bleed. He mentioned something."

"What? What is it?" Cassidy seemed like she was interested very in Adelaine's statement. Her eyes went round and a muscle in her jaw twitched.

"'You should've forgotten him after that accident three years ago!' he kept insisting those words to me. I was really confused so I stepped back little by little away from him. He just can't stop saying those words and made me shout. I told him to stop. That's when you guys entered the room."

After Adelaine finished talking, Cassidy excused herself and told her that she needs to call someone.

As soon as Cassidy was out of the room, she dialed a number.

"Hello?" She said right after the person on the line answered her call.

"Why? What's the matter?" the person said with a voice that sounds like a voice of a person that just wakes up.

"She's not doing well. She mentioned something to me last time. She's starting to feel like some events in her present had already happened."

"So? What are we gonna do?"

Cassidy was silent-- trying to think hard of something.

"For now, let's just--" she couldn't continue what she was about to say when Adelaine opened the door.

"Who are you talking to?"

Her jaw clenched and didn't know what to tell Adelaine.

"Hey, is everything okay?"

"What? Oh, yeah. Of course. We should get ready for school. Let's go back inside." she kept her phone in her pocket and walked back to their room holding Adelaine's shoulders.

"I still don't know what to do, Cass. I don't know if I should talk to Travis or not."

"You should talk to him. Just why on earth did you regret what you did that day? If you didn't, everything wouldn't end up like this."

"I know. Yes, you're right. I should talk to Travis and get things done."

"Done? What do you mean, done?"

"I should've cut ties with him earlier. I'm ending our...you know... connections to each other today."

"Today?"

"He told me that he goes to the same school I go to. I'll talk to him during my vacant time."

The two continued talking to each other while getting ready for school. Without any idea, Adelaine didn't know that Cassidy did not end the call earlier. She just kept her phone in her pocket but did not end it. And so, their conversation was overheard.

The day was going well. Adelaine as well as Cassidy was enjoying their day without worrying about anything. As if nothing happened last night. Throughout the day, they were performing very well in class. Until lunchtime, the two were enjoying their day and not worrying about anything else.

Holding onto Cassidy's arms, the two were walking down the hallway, on their way to grab food, when suddenly, Cassidy's phone rang.

She grabbed her phone out of her pocket to see who's calling. Adelaine at the same time was peeking on her phone.

Incoming Call

Travis Connor

As soon as Adelaine saw the caller's name, her mouth shaped into a circle, and raised her eyebrows while letting go of Cassidy's arms.

Cassidy didn't know if she should answer the call or decline it. All she was thinking was Adelaide's thoughts. And as she expected, Adelaine asked her an expected question yet she didn't know what to respond.

"Since when have you been in touch with Travis?" Adelaine asked her, still looking at the phone screen.

Cassidy was staring at her, thinking of what to say.

"I...I, uh...well, you see--"

Adelaine raised her head and looked up to Cassidy, her hand was still on Cass' phone, and forced a smile.

"What are you so nervous about?" she scoffed and smirked.

"There's nothing wrong with that. I'm not jealous at all. I was just curious, that's why. It's okay if you don't want to answer me."

Adelaine held her hand and told her that they will just grab some food.

"Let's just grab some food. I have some things to do."

On their way to the cafeteria, they decided to just eat outside the campus because of the long line waiting at the cafeteria.

As they were about to leave, someone shouted their name.

"Cass! Adi!" they immediately looked around the cafeteria and saw two guys waving their hands at them.

"Should we order food for you?" the guys asked them, shouting. Adelaine was silent as she stares at Travis who's waiting in the line. Cassidy's eyes were circled while looking at the guy that Travis' with and nodded.

The girls looked for a table good for four people and waited there. After some time, the guys went to them, holding a tray full of food. Travis' face went blank as soon as they sat down but the other guy kept looking at Cassidy while smiling at her.

"What are you looking at?" Cassidy couldn't stand him anymore. Her cheeks blushed to see his smile. His eyes narrow every time he smiles and Cassidy finds it cute.

As the two were trying to be close and getting to know each other, the moods for Adelaine and Travis were different.

They keep glaring at each other and roll their eyes. Of course, they're not on good terms after last night.

Adelaine tried to hold back her anger towards him, but she can't take it anymore and stand up. Hitting the table so hard as she stands up, she grabbed her things and walked out, giving Travis sharp looks.

Cassidy immediately stood up to follow her, but the guy held her hand and stopped her.

She turned her face and looked at him, "What?"

"Sit down. Travis will handle this. That's why we're here. So you should stop involving yourself in their business." the guy said and pulled her down to her chair.

Confusedly, Cass watched Travis as he stands up and walked away to follow Adelaine.

"Where's he going?" she asked the guy.

"That....is none of your-- our business." the guy smiled at her again and grabbed his phone.

"Well, my schedule today is....ask for your cellphone number!" he joyfully said, scrolling through his phone. He then offered his phone to Cas.

Cassidy stared at his phone and raised her head to see him. "What?" She asked, raising one eyebrow.

"What do you mean, what? Come on, don't be shy. You want my number, too, am I right?"

Cassidy gasped for air and rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, you're cute, but I'm not interested in you at all! Who do you think you are?!"

"I'm the guy you talked to in the corridor last night. I remember you. The so hot girl. So wild."

"What!? I don't bite."

Cassidy's eyebrows collided after hearing those words. Everything she did last night was on her mind. She didn't want the guy to insult her every time they cross paths and so she had no choice but to give her number to him.

She aggressively grabbed his phone and glared at him. After typing down her number, she clicked her tongue and gave back the phone.

"Don't you want to ask for mine?" the guy asked him as he sets her name on his contacts.

"Why would I? I'd rather ask for Travis' phone number!"

"But you already have his number."

Cassidy was shocked by what he said which made her ask him.

"Who are you?"

"That's too late to ask but,"

He stood up and offered his hand to her.

"I'm Calvin Owen. Travis calls me Calve."

He waited for Cassidy to hold his hand for a handshake but she didn't even bother to stand.

Dumbfounded, he rubbed his chin and awkwardly sat down.

Cassidy hasn't let any word out of her mouth which made Calvin uncomfortable.

He kept rubbing his hands on his lap with his head lowered down.

All of a sudden, Cassidy laughed.

"Honestly, I was interested in you last night. But after knowing how dumb you are, I prefer Travis than you now," she said as she scoffs.

"Well, you can say that I'm Travis' slave. I always follow him around, doing what he asks me to do as if I'm getting paid with a big amount of money. Of course, he's much better than me."

Cassidy was suddenly guilty and felt bad for him. After all, she was way too harsh towards him.

"I.. I'm--"

"You don't need to be sorry. It's true, though."

"Wh--why would I be sorry?! I was about to say that I'm going to look for the two. You're such an unpredictable person. Jeez." Cassidy stood up and left him alone at the cafeteria.

Walking around as she looks for the two, she looked back and saw Calvin following her, holding the foods they ordered earlier that were not even noticed after each one of them walked out.

She thought of helping him, but she found herself avoiding him, walking away from him with big steps as she walks.

"Hey! Aren't you gonna help me!? These foods are yours!" he shouted, panting.

Still, Cassidy didn't turn around.

Not even bother by Calvin's noise, Cassidy noticed a dark room. The door was close as well as the windows. She tried to peek through the window and could see no one. There were no lights inside.

She tiptoed and looked further. She then heard a low voice of someone talking inside the room. She listened to it but could not focus because of Calvin.

"I was drunk last night, that's why."

"You wouldn't say that I was in an accident three years ago even if you're drunk! After all, it hasn't been that long since we've met."

"I was drunk and...and I thought you were my ex-girlfriend. I mean no harm to you. I was just drunk last night."

At that moment, Cassidy knew that Adelaine and Travis were inside the room, talking to each other. She focused and listened to the two very well.

"What? Stop confusing me and tell me everything in detail."

"My ex-girlfriend was in an accident three years ago. You're not my first, Adelaine."
