Chapter 2: Flashback

Flash back to how this story started,

Werewolves and humans have always coexisted even though they may have not shown harmony in all of their practices. All of that thanks to a sacred lawbook that has maintained peace between the two parties ever since the start of time. And to keep everything under control,there was one sacred rule,one that not a soul has ever dared to revolt against. That was until Maria;the princess of Grenalada,an ancient city; decided to confess her feelings to Jake,a werewolf of an uncommon beauty.

May 5th 1900

The white round moon had already replaced the flaming rays of the sun .Under the blossoming cherry trees,Maria was waiting.She was wearing a white flowy dress that barely covered her shoulders, her red hear was a flowing beauty river ,it was as soft as a spider web hanging down her back.That night, Maria didn't bother to tidy herself up before going out that she forgot to wear her shoes.Still, she didn't care,her heart was pounding,hoping that Jake would have gotten her invitation.She was shivering from head to toe due to cold. However, she didn't care. Wait..Now that she's thinking about it, isn't it unfair to confess her feelings to Jake?what will he think about it?what if he hates her after?.

All those thoughts were rushing through her mind when she suddenly remembered the first time they met, they have been soulmates ever since she could remember. But now, a ball has formed in her chest from all the swallowed up feelings and she had to let it all out. At times, she would truly believe from the bottom of her heart that they were really made for each other. She has grown to notice every little detail about him, how his silver silky hair would fall on top of his shoulders, how majestic he looked whenever he metamorphosed into his wild form, and how he would immediately sence if she was in danger. Simply,how he was who he was. It all confused her as to whether he shared the same feelings with her , all she needed was his response, once she gets his approval, nothing else would matter, not even the sacred rule.

Maria was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't even notice Jake coming. Seeing how oblivious she was to his presence,he jumped on her only to bring her into a warm tight hug.

_"Helloo Maria darling,sorry for that,not really...but you should have seen your face."

Maria's heart had skipped so many beats that she couldn't move leave alone talk.

_"I guess I went too far with my joke .Im so sorry *hugging her again*Anyway,what is so urgent that you needed to talk right at this moment ?"

though her tomato face was enough of an answer. She said:

_"I don't really know how to say this ..." Her voice was barely audible that Jake had to lean in making her even more flustered" I..I...have to tell you something. It might sound selfish but I can't keep it to myself,not anymore...."
