Chapter 25: The Beehive(Part 2)
(3rd Person POV)
"You sure we should focus on these guys?" Starrk asked Cregan as he dodged gunfire, "They're pretty weak."
Cregan smirked as he grabbed a marine by face with his left arm.
"What do you want me to do? Use my Conqueror's?" He asked as he flung the marine to a group of others
Starrk kicked one that charged at him in the chest, "That'd be useful yes." He said
"Focus on yourself, Starrk! These guys may be fodder but they're still plenty of them." Cregan said as he cut down several marines down, "Use your haki."
"I am." Starrk said boringly as he effortlessly dodged gunfire, "Just using observation, these guys ain't putting much resistance."
The marines were having such a hard time moving past these two. They were stronger than they anticipated.
"Dammit!" One of the soldiers exclaimed, "Someone call for backup! These guys are no joke! Call a Rear-Admiral here or something! They're cutting us down by the dozen!"
Cregan was the one doing the cutting down. Starrk seemed to be merely punching and kicking marines down, not really wounding them much.
Cregan smirked even more as he pointed his blade at the crowd of marines.
"You fuckers ain't getting out of here in one piece." He sneered
Starrk saw this and rolled his eyes, "Why so bloodthirsty against some fodder marines?" He said, "At this rate, we'll wipe them out in no time."
"That's the plan!" Cregan said as he charged at the crowd of marines
He dodged gunfire and immediately cut them all down. Starrk merely scratched his cheek as this happened. He was expecting more of a challenge but he was disappointed for some reason. He had hoped to put his training to use.
Cregan then wiped his blade as he looked around, the entirety of the group was wiped out. He was sure he didn't kill any of them but just wounded them enough to take them out of the fight.
"That was quite the fun…." Cregan said, "But I'm sure the real party will start in a bit. These cannon fodder surely called for backup and the actual strong ones will arrive shortly."
Starrk planted his sword on the ground and leaned on it.
"Yea…who do you think we should expect?" He said, "A captain? Rear Admiral? Or a Vice Admiral?"
Cregan stroked his beard, "Definitely a Vice Admiral. I mean they'd be stupid not to send one here. Hell, an Admiral should've been sent here."
Starrk didn't like the idea of an actual admiral here. He didn't even know who the admirals were in this age. He's not so sure if Sengoku had become a Fleet Admiral by now, if not, he's the only Admiral he knows of currently.
"Well lets hope they ain't troublesome." Starrk said as he looked around, "I don't sense anyone."
Cregan nodded, "Neither do i-" he said before he turned around quickly, "Wait no, I do. We got multiple newcomers on their way fast."
"Another platoon?" Starrk asked
His observation haki wasn't as fine-tuned as Cregan's, so he could only sense so far of his surroundings. Cregan can sense even further than he can.
"Less than before." Cregan said, "But there's still a lot."
Before Cregan could say anything else, a figure dashed past him.
"What?!" He exclaimed as he turned to see a woman running towards a pillar
The woman jumped on the pillar and flipped in the air. Both Starrk and Cregan watched as she pulled out two flintlocks and aimed them at the two.
In an instant, she fired the guns.
Starrk had grabbed his sword and blocked the bullet with the flat of his blade as it bounced off it. Cregan merely dodged it with ease.
They watched as the woman landed on her feet. It wasn't that she shot the guns at her that surprised them, it was the speed that she appeared in.
Cregan narrowed his eyes, "And who's this?"
Starrk widened his eyes, he recognized her almost immediately. It was the same girl he had met aboard Kizaru's ship when he was held prisoner.
Anne straightened herself up as she stood between them, she merely glared at Cregan.
"You fiend!" She growled,
"I'll take you down!"
