Chapter 4: * Not Born But Created; Rulers of the Realms and Their Minions
Slayer and the others were Ancient Demons, who weren't born but was created into existence.
The ones who Created them were the ones known as, the Rulers of the Realms; when the Earth was just newly made.
The Rulers of the Realms are the ones who control and have Supreme Power over everything. They were the first to come into existence, just appearing from the Nothingness one day. And they are the ones who brought everything into existence in the Realms. They made the Rules for which the inhabitants of the Realms had to follow and obey.
There are Two Rulers of the Realms. They alone held the powers of being Divine Deities and of God's, they held the absolute power and strength over all and everything.
In the beginning there were only one realm that the Rulers had made.The Realm at that time had the living and the dead co-existing with each other and at that time life was much more harder and darker.
The ones living had to constantly hide and run from the corrupted spirits that would hunt to suck out the souls of the living, craving and yearning for the livings life force.
The two Rulers soon became angry with each other and soon it became clear that the two Rulers could no longer rule over the same Realm, and if they would go to war then everything that they had created would be destroyed. Both knew that neither one of them would never stop if it got to that point.
And so the Rulers decided to separate the Realm into two Realms. One Realm for each of them to Rule over.
The Land of the Dead belonged to the Ruler that was of Wrath and the Darkness, Corruption and The Dead. The Land of the Living belonged to the Ruler that was of Magic and Life, and Blood and Fire.
The Rulers didn't interact much with each other after that. Except for making sure that their Realms followed the Rules that the two Rulers had made and agreed upon together, making sure that they each saw to it that they both kept everything in order and running accordingly and smoothly within their Realm, without there being any major problems that could cause an unbalance with the other Realm; Then there wasn't any reason for much interaction.
They didn't mind leaving each other alone to do whatever they wanted when it came to the other Rulers Realm that they ruled. But after many hundreds of centuries, ruling over their Realms, the Rulers had started to become bored and tired of what it was they had created.
The Ruler of The Realm of the Dead started wanting more Power and Control. Becoming Greedy, and thought that the Realm of the Dead should control both the Realms and let the living die suffer and die out. This of course did not go over so well with the Ruler of the Living Realm.
So it came to be that the Rulers of the Realms decided together to make another Realm. It was the Realm they came to call the In Between.
The In Between was created to give the Rulers a place that they hoped would allow them to be able to leave the other two Realms, hoping that they would then be able to not be so involved. But there was always something that would need their attention and Since there wasn't any others who held any powers or abilities that it took to step in for the Rulers, like they so desperately wanted.
They finally were Left with no other choice, They came up with the idea of each creating a Demon, to give some of their own powers to and who they could leave to Rule the Realms in there stead. This would be what would Allow the Rulers of the Realms to stay in the In Between indefinitely, like they wanted.
When the Demon Siblings were created into existence they were each raised individually by their Ruler who in fact had created them. The Rulers decided to each create two demons for each of the Realms. They took their time to teach each one, combat and killing skills, hunting and survival skills and how to work and use their powers. But, the Ruler who created Sinyster made her different and unlike the brothers. Without the other Ruler knowing Sinyster was closer to their level of powers.
The Rulers gifted the Demons with some of the same abilities, one of them being the ability to Shape-shift into their own chosen, personal creature that the Rulers bestowed upon them.
Slayer's Creature was a Fire Wolf, Vishious' creature was a Shadow Raven, Wycked's creature was a Skeletal Tiger and Sinyster's creature was a Dark Merwitch.
All the Demons shared the same powers of being Immortal; nothing could harm them during the night hours. They also could Camouflage themselves to blend in and surprise any enemy or intruders. Also, all had the ability of Petrification when they chose to use that touch; to forever leave one as a stone souvenir.
The Rulers would depend on their Demons to see to it that things kept running smoothly and stayed in balance. That the Living and the Dead were kept separate and the Living didn't know anything of the Realm of the Dead. And If anyone in either Realm would do anything that went against the rules and what the Rulers wanted, then they would be punished accordingly to which Realm they belonged to.
If in fact one was taken to the In Between Realm from the Living Realm; their existence wasnt going to be anything like it used to be. Instead, the Rulers would turn them into their Minions. Which Ironically, they were to forever follow orders.
It was a very painful, agonizing mutation. The skin turned ashy-black, and their bodies were distorted, disfigured and twisted. Their teeth became long jagged and blade-like that were so large ones mouth seemed to be forever opened.
Their tongues and eyes were cut out so they could no longer speak or see. Instead, they were only able to hear orders and do whatever the Rulers told them to do. Having lost the ability to see and speak they were forced to depend on their other senses to get whatever they were ordered to do; done. And their other senses were heightened unbelievably quick.
Bones protruded out of the knuckles of their hands and were razor sharp; And their heads were turned permanently upside down. They looked to be of something that would only exist in one's worst nightmares, Forever Damned to be Minions for going against the Rules of the Realms, or until the Rulers decided to destroy them. They were the ones that the Rulers would have deal with watching over the Gates, seeing to it that the souls of the less, inferior demons and the human souls; would go to the right destination after death.
Letting the souls who were meant to pass through the Gates, entry and that the souls who weren't permitted to pass through them, didn't. Keeping watch so the souls of those that were denied to cross through the Gates and instead were fated to forever be lost, didn't try to enter into the Gates and cause problems of unbalance.
The Rulers would be called by their Demons only for serious matters. Which was hardly ever done or needed because the Rulers made their demons where they could handle anything that would arise, so left their Demons to deal with it.
When their Minions weren't needed by the Rulers, they were kept in a place that was no less then Hell; where they were constantly tortured and beaten unmercifully. Their screams of perpetual agony echoed through out the In Between Realm.
The ones who were brought to the In Between who belonged to the Realm of the Dead, would be thrown into the Waters of Eternal Entrapment; a place that was excruciatingly painful for the soul and would never allow them to rest, slowly making their soul deteriorate and after centuries of only being allowed to look out from the waters, craving to be able to leave them again, They would cease to exist and their souls would be destroyed.
