Chapter 41: Battle In The Deep Caves (1)
Kai looked down at the crushed adult [Rock-Wyrm] with a pleased look on his face.
"This guy wasn't a big deal either. Leveling up sure makes things easier, I could definitely get addicted to this feeling..."
Kai stuffed his hand into its corpse and unceremoniously pulled out the Ichor-covered gallbladder. He took a bite out of it like a snack while looking at the corpse with interest. He pulled out the massive pincers on its head and held one in each hand.
They were as hard as stone and had a bit of weight to them, so Kai figured they would make good temporary weapons.
"I'll turn you into a manual later when I have enough Qi"
Kai dragged the two pieces away and hid them as best as he could before heading back into the tunnel.
"This place is...massive"
Kai had only seen it from the outside, but now that he was inside, he felt the place was just too big. There were also stone-like eggs covering the entire cave. They glowed with a small brown light illuminating the depths of the cave slightly and making it look even creepier.
Kai inspected the closest egg.
[Rock-Wyrm Egg] [Grade 1] [7 Qi]
"I wonder if I can get Qi from these eggs..."
Kai's eyes scanned the hundreds of eggs in the tunnel as a sinister smile crept onto his smile. He didn't waste any more time and instantly crushed the egg he had just inspected with his foot.

"Hahaha!", Kai let out an involuntary laugh when he saw the system message. The egg was hard but with his new physical strength, shattering it with one hit was as easy as cracking a normal egg.
The egg was just filled with Ichor so there were no gallbladders to be found, but for Kai, the Qi alone was enough. Just as he was about to go on an egg-breaking massacre, a screeching sound was heard from the depths of the cave.
Kai looked over and was able to see a group of [Rock-Wyrm Adult] moving towards him at a fast pace. There were at least 50 of them aimed at Kai with hatred in the screeches.

They screeched loudly as they moved vigorously towards Kai.
Kai didn't expect that breaking one egg would result in such a response. Even killing hundreds of their born young only resulted in them sending one adult after him, but crushing an egg made them send hundreds of adults after him?.
Kai suspected that the eggs were somehow more valuable to them but it was irrelevant at this point. He enhanced his body and backed away from the tunnel as quickly as he could.
He was confident in fighting them if he got his defensive stacks to the maximum, but Kai had never fought this many [Grade-2] beasts at once so he wanted to be as careful as possible.
Kai smashed a few more eggs on his way out to increase his Qi some more. They were already mad at him so this much shouldn't be a big deal.
He backed away from the cave and went back into the more narrow tunnel. This would limit how many of them would be able to get to him as well as reduce the chances of getting surrounded.
Kai went back to the crevice where he had his backpack hidden. The entrance was only big enough to allow one [Rock-Wyrm Adult] through at a time so he would make his stand there.
Kai ran as fast as he could, but the worms were a lot faster than he had anticipated. The front runners were already shooting spiked rocks at him. He dodged what he could but a few were still able to hit him in the back as he ran.
Kai had already enhanced his body with Qi and his newly acquired [Mortal Grade-3] body was also helping him shrug off most of the damage. At most he got a few bruises from the attacks. The hits also became less intense when he activated [Primordial Dragon Stance] to increase his defense for each hit he took.
By the time Kai had reached the creative, he had the full 10 stacks of [Primordial Dragon Stance]. He wielded one-half of the [Rock-Wyrm] pincers in each hand as he prepared for the coming battle.
The first beast appeared through the crevice. The space was too small so it couldn't use its tail to shoot the spikes at Kai. It rushed at him wielding its pincers, ready to snap him in half.
Kai stood his ground as he watched the approaching beast patiently. He positioned his two pincers in front of his body then moved his left foot to the front while he positioned his right foot behind him and braced for impact.
The beast didn't slow down and seemed to be in a rage, wanting nothing more than to tip Kai to shreds. within a few seconds, it was already on him.
At that moment, Kai activated the second skill of [Primordial Dragon Stance] making himself completely immovable. The beast crashed into Kai expecting him to be pushed back, but he did not move an inch. Instead, the beast had unknowingly impaled itself on Kai's Pincers

Kai kicked the corpse back, dislodging his pincers from the corpse and knocking it back into the other [Rock-Wyrm] behind it out of the crevice entrance.
"One down, 49 more to go..."
Kai got ready for the next [Rock-Wyrm] that entered the crevice. Today would be a long day.
