Chapter 2: The Wakeup call
It was the middle of December, the whether was cold to the point where any thing outside would freeze with in a matter of hours. Although the sun was high up in the sky the snow kept falling they shimmered like tiny diamonds when sun light hits them. The snow covered the ground like a blanket, from far away one could here the laughter and shrikes of children it was a beautiful scenery in which one could get lost except for the one laying on the hard cold ground feeling the coldness sweeping into her body while taking her last breaths.
The blood sweeping down her wound tainted the white snow, although the scenery of some one dying should be horrifying. The girl laying on the snow seems ethereal, a beauty which was taken from the heaven she seems to glow with her white flowing dress beautiful black eyes looking into the sky while she was smiling as if she was relishing and welcoming death with her arm wide open.
If one knew the real life of the famous Actress Yang Meiling of the rich Yang family, the one behind the facade and gory then only they would empathize with the girl who was laying on the snow.
Humans are fickle creatures they believe only what their eyes could see and what they could only hear. Everyone love and admired the Oscar winning actress Meiling. men went crazy for her and women wanted to be like her but nobody tried to know the real her. The girl who was abandoned by her father at the age of 9 after her mothers death, the girl who was mentally and physically abused daily by her stepmother till it was discovered uncle.
At 13 she was adopted by her uncle and aunt. they were not able to have kids due to some complications so they loved Meiling a lot as she was their chance at having a kid. Those years with her uncle and aunt were the only time she truly loved herself. from a young age it was known that Meiling was an intelligent child she learned every thing faster and better that those of her own age.
She finished high school at age 14 and as she wanted to be a doctor she went abroad to study medicine. She easily got in to the most prestigious medical university in London, but disaster struck again when she was in her second year of studies, her aunt and uncle was killed by a drunk truck driver. When she abandoned her studies and returned to China the funeral and every thing was already done by her father. She dint even get to say her last good byes.
After she came back from london, those were the some of the most dark days of her life. she was so depressed that she wanted to end her life that was when she met Huang li jie. Huang li jie was the son of her fathers best friend and they had played together as kids. when she was at her lowest Huang li jie helped to come out of the depression, he convinced her to forgive her father and stepmother and to embrace her half sister. In a world where no one loved her Meiling thought she found her soulmate. Her happiness and love knew no bounds everything Huang li jie wanted Meiling was ready to give. Even if he had asked for her life she would have happily given it up for him. what Meiling dint know was she was not falling in love but falling in to a pit of snakes who were ready to consume her whole.
The first thing Huang li jie convinced her to do when they got together was let go of her dream of becoming a doctor he wanted her to become an actress in his entertainment company he said he wanted her help and that this was for there future and that he cant live without her being gone for hours as a doctor that he cant live with her suffering long hours he gave numerous excuses to convince her the sincerity of his thoughts and actions.
It dint take long for Meiling to become famous in the entertainment industry she was gorgeous and at the same time she was actually really good at acting. As always she gave her best she whole heartedly accepted that her destiny was to become an actress. with in her first five years in the industry she won numerous awards nationally. With her being inn the forefront Huang li jie s entertaiment company, huang entertainment became the largest entertainment company . She gave all her assets left by her uncle to li jie for his company. The only asset left was the shares in her Uncles company and numerous properties left by her mother to her in her death.
Some how during the first few years in the industry Meiling learned to not express her thoughts she knew no one would want to know her the world wanted to see the beautiful and untouchable Meiling but not her invisible scars which were slowly forming in her the scars which made her who she is and what she will become. so she hid her self, and tucked her sufferings and dreams in a corner of her heart and moved on so that she could keep the love of that one person.
At age 25 she Acted in her first Hollywood movie and won her firs Oscar now at age 30 she has 3 Oscars, more than 7 best actress awards she was in the height of her carrier. It was just last week when Li jie asked her to give up her shares to her sister by saying that she way too busy to handle the shares properly and that she should give the control of those shares to her sister and she easily agreed like a blind fool.
But she was a fool no more finally she got a wake up call but it seems too late.
Even from the start one truth she knew was the fact that her father dint love her like he love her half sister who was born just a few moths from her birth date. Her father was the second son of the Yang family so he dint inherit the Yang family company and assets so he married Meilings mother Xia Ning who was the sole heiress of the Xia Family while being in a secret relation ship with Jiang Yunmei. He knew the fact that Xia Ning was a heart patient and that she had only few years to live and he was lucky that Meilings grandfather died in cancer in second year of his marriage to Meilings mother who had no interest in the business thus getting the control of all Xia family assets although they were in Xia Nings name Yang Bao controlled them. Even at her death Xia Ning didn't know of Yang Bao s betrayal. Meiling knew it when her father brought her new step mother and half sister who inherited her fathers features into Xia family home with in days of her mothers funeral. Meiling who was a sensible and intelligent girl even at just 9 years knew that she had to be silent that she had become a stranger in her own home that she had to become invisible. although she dint say anything for Meiling her father died with her mother. His betrayal to her mother molded although she dint blame her half sister Yang Diu she had no real feelings for her.
It was just last night it that Meiling was sleeping peacefully beside Huang li jie in their apartment when the phone started ringing. Meiling was half awake when it started ringing it was the home number and there was a phone in the bedside table but Huang li jie did not attend it he suddenly got up from the bed and got out of the room which Meiling found strange as it kept ringing so she took the phone the same time she could here that Huang li jie also attended the call but from another room in the apartment. Meiling thought that it was a business call and that Huang li jie dint attend the call not to diturb her so she was gonna keep the phone down when she herd the word coming out of Huang li jies mouth.
Huang li jie: Baby Diu I am sorry I kept you waiting my love. Meiling was just beside me so I needed to get away and my phone i kept it at your place after lunch and forgot it there
Yang Diu: I am missing you, when will you fully come back to me.
Huang li jie: my love you know that I am doing this for us.
Yang Diu: I know that but it would be so easy if just we could kill her.
Huang li jie: but you know we cant do that although your father has control of half the Xia family assets and is the Chairman of the Xia Group of companies he can be in that position till Meilings 31 then all of the assets which are held in the trust and the ones being controlled by your father will go to her and if she dies before that then the assets will be liquidated and donated in her name, and although she agreed to give you the yang company shares its not much compared to the Xia group of companies so if she dies after inheriting the assets and is married at that time then her husbands which means me will inherit the assets. so we just need to wait a little more and be patient as we have been for the last 14 years. just one more year and we will be free.
Yang Diu: I know my love. I will wait for you I know your doing this for me if father had not kept this secret from Meiling we would have lost everything already. If you had not agreed to dads plane nothing would have been possible.
Then kept on talking to each other while not realizing that some one was listening on their conversation that someone's heart was broken into pieces.
Meiling kept the phone down but was in daze every sentence she heard kept ringing inside her head. she was in that state when she got in to her car and drove to a park this is the park to which her mother often used to bring her as a kid when ever something significant happens in her life Meiling visits the park it was her little piece of safe haven she felt close to her mother when ever she came here.
Meiling sat clam on the bench for hours analyzing but she knew that at this point she had no way out if they could wait this long to kill her just to achieve their goals then they are capable of anything. she could go to the police but she had no evidence. she was their till the break of dawn when she got up and she started walking when she heard the shot it was from a distance she froze on the spot then the second shot she felt it as it directly hitting her near the heart.
She dint cry she relished the pain like applying a cold medicine in over a bruised muscle. she felt relived as a new plan formed in her mind. if she died then everything will be over even for those who betrayed her her revenge would be taken by taking away all that they want and waited for. with that thought Yang Meiling took her last breath from this world
