Chapter 5: Impression
The freshman students recovered after two days of rest. Even those who lost all limbs or those who only have their head and chest left after the mana heart stimulation, easily recovered because of the middle-aged woman with pink hair. She has healing as her utility magic.
The students were given the weekend to prepare for the academy because they will all have to live in the dormitories provided for them. They were all given IDs that have RFID (Radio-frequency identification) to ensure security in the academy.
Josh got home. His house is very small. It is made of pure concrete with bare steel roofs. It is overshadowed by a huge condominium by its side. He was left there because the space he occupied is just too small; the wall of the building is thicker than his whole house.
"I'm back Mr. Panda!" Josh happily snuggled to the panda stuffed toy. He buried his face on the forearm-size stuffed toy until he got enough of it.
"Let's see… I only have clothes and Mr. Panda to bring… Ah! My charger, almost forgot it."
Josh packed up his four sets of clothes in an oversized blue shoulder bag made of plastic-like fabric. Then, he also put Mr. Panda and his charger in it.
"All good to go!"
Josh tried to sleep in his rock-like bed with difficulty. Memories keep plaguing his mind.
"I really need Mr. Panda…"
Josh took out his stuffed toy from his bag, and after about an hour of constantly changing sleeping positions, he slept off.
Morning 7 am in Josh's house,
'*Wisshh~*'
Sound of water falling on the floor reverberate. After a light shower, not really, because he only used a pitcher and bucket, Josh wrapped his lower body with a towel and looked at the semi-broken mirror plastered on his wall. Reflected on it is a handsome, innocent-looking boy. With blue eyes, black hair with a touch of dark red tinges on the end of the hair strands, and a small but pointed nose, he can make girls scream, but after putting on some clothes…
"Okay… Let's put the fake bulgy glasses and black bonnet… Look at that! Damn! Looking smart, boy! First impression lasts. I must make them think that I'm a smart guy, hehe. Maybe girls will flock on me, hehehe." Josh has a very ugly grin on his face brought about by 18 years of no romantic relationship in his life.
Josh's fashion sense is very weird. He is a guy that constantly worked from the age of 12 until recently to feed himself. The old man that took care of him when he was 9 died after 3 years due to old age. Because of this, he did not have any interaction with any youths the same age as him before. All he worked with are smelly, muscular, and bearded old men. They always said to him,
"Boy! Are you done in the library? That's good! Smart-looking guys are always the go-to of the girls!"
They are good guys. They always share meals with him for lunch. Leaving Josh to only mind breakfast and dinner. He did not attend school because his meager assistance in construction work only pays little for his growing body. He only had gone to the library and read for 3 hours at late night to learn. He spent his life until 18 this way.
