Chapter 40: Ghost

"Morning" I said smiling and I walked through the doors of the building greeting Maria who was already at her desk on the phone, and she waved me down signaling for me to wait a bit, and I did.

"Hey babe good morning. This came for you."

"For me?" I asked confused as she handed me the basket and I immediately smiled as I read the note.

'Enjoy.'

Signed 'Prince Charming.'

I was one simple five letters word, but it meant the world to me.

"Secret admirer?" asked Maria as she wiggled her eyebrows at me and I chuckled.

"Something like that."

She smiled at me and I waved her good bye as I as I hauled the huge ass basket with me to the elevator and up to my office.

I kept smiling as I re read the note over and over not wanting to touch the pretty wrapping of the basket, but you know me, curiosity will get me in trouble for I immediately unwrapped it and gasped when I saw all sorts of varieties and snacks and treats.
