Chapter 15: A Contract and Training
I looked at the small black ball in my hand. The device in my hand is what's called a pocket. To be specific it's an E-grade pocket. With this I can make a contract with the administrator. Every regular receives one after they pass Headon's test. I didn't even notice I got one until just now because it was in its invisible mode. After I realized I had a pocket all I had to do was set it to its visible mode.
Now if I remember correctly all I have to do is hold it and say.
"Contract with the manager."
The world darkened around me and I found myself in a dark space that seemed strangely familiar.
"Hello?" I yelled out.
"Back again are you?" A voice behind me said.
I turned around and saw a familiar face sitting on a couch playing on a Nintendo switch. The administrator was there.
"So why are you here this time? Don't tell me you died again. If you died again then I'm going to get bored again." He said looking over at me.
"No, I'm still alive. I wanted to make a contract with the administrator of the floor but I appeared here instead." I replied.
"Oh, that." He snapped his fingers. "There, you're all set. I just set up a contract that should work for all floors."
"That was easy." I raised an eyebrow.
"I prefer things that way." His face got a little serious. "Anyway don't keep time stopped for too long. It can really mess some things up if you're not careful. It may break some things or some rather unfriendly beings may notice something. Time is a dangerous thing to play with, remember that. Anyway you can keep time stopped for at most a few days but after that it gets dangerous."
I nodded. "I'll keep that in mind."
"Also, I made the heroes relics and sent them to the tower. Go and find them! Alright now leave. Bye!"
"Wait what! What do you mean the heroes relics are in the tower? Explain!" I yelled.
"Nope."
I found myself back with Sothis.
"It seems that we have some weapons to recover later." She said while adjusting herself in her throne.
Sothis basically lives in my mind so she saw everything that happened.
"Yes we do, but that's a problem for the future me. Right now let's figure out how to use shinsu. " I replied.
What I want is to be able to physically enhance myself in any way. That would be preferable. However to do that I need to be able to use one Baang. Something I do not have the time to learn. I would have to be an even greater genius then Baam which is downright impossible. I don't have time to learn how to make a baang. The administrator told me not to keep time stopped for too long and he probably was warning me about something I rather not find out about.
Actually, I'm curious over something. A baang is a unit of measurement for shinsu however no one has ever used anything less then that. I have always though the baangs are like whole numbers so what would happen if you used decimals? I think it's worth trying out honestly because there is no way I can learn to use a baang to its fullest extend with the time I have.
Now in the manga the sleeping bag guy gave a small explanation on how to create a baang. I named him that because he is never without a pillow and a sleeping bag almost like Mr.Aizawa.
Anyways I held out my hand in front of me and according to him I have to imagine the whole world gathering over my hand. Then imagine it all flowing into a singular point. I stood there for a few minutes holding my hand out looking like I was waiting to be handed something. Nothing happened.
I guess it's going to take some practice if I want to do this right. I just hope I can get this done in time.
*3 hours later*
Yes yes yes yes Yes! It finally appeared! A green little sphere materialized in my palm. I got it! Now I can get to the next step! Or so I thought because it fizzled out a second later. It seems I need to be able to sustain a baang if I want to learn to manipulate it. However the fact that I materialized it In few hours shows I have talent. Most people take much much longer to do the same thing. Baam managed to do it instantly but Baam is abnormal so he's an exception. It's time to get back to practice then.
*2 hours later*
I can sustain the baang for about a minute but that's good enough. This whole time Sothis has been watching me quietly and it's kind of creepy actually.
"It's not creepy. I'm just really interested in Shinsu." She stated.
"Sure sure, whatever you say" I rolled my eyes.
Anyway here comes the hard part, manipulating the shinsu. This is where most of the time is spent when learning to use baangs. This is where my idea from earlier comes into play. My idea is to manipulate only a part of the baang. There is no way I will have enough time to fully manipulate it. It's time for another time skip.
*1 day later*
I did it. It's only manipulating a very small portion of a full baang but I did it. It's probably only actually around 15% of a full baang but it's till something. My idea actually works. I can't shoot it or anything but by sending into myself I can increase my strength. Also if I concentrate it all into one limb that limb gains strength equal to what a full baang would give. However unlike when a a full baang is used where my whole body would be amplified this would just be one limb.
"You ready now?" Sothis spoke.
"Yeah, rewind as far as you can." I replied. It's time to get this show on the road.

Ellenad Thought this was dropped when I didn't post last week didn't ya. Guess what, it's not! Sorry guys about last week. I'm a high school student and my midterms started last Friday so I didn't have time to write a chapter. My midterms ended yesterday and it wasn't until Friday evening that I realized I forgot to post chapters.
