Chapter 185: A Distraction For September

Chapter 185: A Distraction For September

Somewhere else.

Where September was. At a tavern. At a tavern, she was resting. At a table, she was drinking. She was having a cup of coffee in her own corner of the small and modest tavern. She was in her own world. She wasn't bothering anyone. She was coming back from her long journey.

Her mission was to bring Gill back to the Morgan Marsh, back to his lagoon. That mission was over. It had been completed. Now, it was time for the Autumn witch to come back home. Back to the tower. Since this was the middle of the night, and that, she wasn't counting on sleeping at the tavern or any other place for that matter other than the tower… She required that one, additional cup of coffee to fuel her up and make it back home.

There were a few people in the tavern with her. September had a dark cloak on her shoulders and a hood on top of her head. She was attempting to hide her identity. But her cloak and her hood didn't discourage the men in the establishment from checking her out a lot. Even with that dark cloak covering her body, the boys could still perfectly see the buxom and voluptuous nature of her body. They didn't know who she was yet. They couldn't see her face because of the hood, but they knew had a real piece of juicy meat in the place.

A couple of the men were so excited to have her here that they deeply considered walking up to her and her table and speaking to her. To them, she felt so lonely, on her own, without anyone to speak to. Without anyone to spend time with. If only she had someone to chat with. The night wouldn't be as long as it was.

The guys truly considered going to see her. Some of them were discussing with one another. Talking about her. They definitely had it hard for her.

Who wouldn't?

Her big tits were literally sitting on the edge of the table she was sitting at while she was drinking her hot cup of coffee. The steam was ascending in front of her face.

"So, who's going to talk to her? You? Or you?" One of the few men at the bar in the tavern was deciding who was going to be the one who would be making a move and coming to talk to her.

"No. It has gotta be you. Talk to her. Go on. Talk to her."

"Me? Are you nuts? My wife is waiting for me at home. You are single. You can go talk to her. Come on. Don't chicken out."

"Alright. Alright. I'll go. I'll go," one of the three men at the bar finally decided to stand up and to walk toward the witch in disguise after quickly finishing his mug of ale. As he walked toward the woman in the corner, he could hear his buddies, making fun of him, laughing, giggling. Everyone was drunk. Everyone was having a great time. Everyone except for September Autumn, who was simply so tired from her journey. She obviously didn't want to be bothered, but those guys were simply too drunk to pick up on that. It was impossible for them to notice that she preferred being alone. Away from them. The only thing she was asking for was to stay separated from them. As much as possible. She wasn't asking for much.

"Hey, lady…" the man who walked up to her said. Too loud.

"..." no response whatsoever from her. She didn't pay enough attention to him to look at him. She never turned her head to him. She never did. She continued sipping on her hot cup of coffee.

"Um… You have been quiet the entire time you were here. Do you need some company or something like that? Do you require a friend or something?" The same man continued having a discussion with her. He wasn't interested in going back to his buddies, with another failure under his belt. That drunk guy often failed to seduce women at this tavern. No. Not just regularly. Always. And getting drunk was the only thing that gave me a little courage to speak to women.

"..." still no answer from. She wasn't interested. At all.

"If you're shy, I'll let you know about a little secret of mine… I'm shy, too. I am. I really am. And if you want us to be shy together, I wouldn't mind opening up to you even more if you could just‒"

"‒I am not shy," she finally responded. Speaking to him without even bothering to turn her head to him. "But you're drunk. Go away," the witch insisted. She didn't want to be bothered. Then, after she had lashed out at him, his two other buddies quickly came to his rescue. The three drunk men surrounded the witch in the cloak and the hood. His two friends were pissed. They didn't like the way she was behaving and the tone she took when finally answering their buddy. So, now, the three of them were ganging up on her.

"Our buddy only asked to help you, so you feel less lonely."

"Yeah. Our buddy didn't mean anything bad. Why be so upset about it? What gives you the right to act that way," the other said. The three drunk men were surrounding her in the corner.

"Guys. I don't have time and energy for this," she said to them after finally turning her head to them. She delicately placed her cup of coffee down as she turned her head to them. While it wasn't her intention, the three guys saw her face. They finally saw her face. They discovered who she was even without her needing to pull her hood down. They saw that it was the former Witch Queen. Here.

"You?" one of the three men said when he saw her.

"The Witch Queen? I mean, the former Witch Queen?"

"What is she doing here? Man… She is even hotter in person…" the man who first approached her whispered to himself.

"That's it. I'm leaving," she said as she stood up. She left a couple of gold coins on the table. Too many for a simple cup of coffee. She circled around the three men. Left them behind and rushed out of the tavern. She was on her way back to the tower. She was hoping to make it home before sunrise. She wasn't too far from home now. Perhaps a couple of hours away from the Autumn Tower.

But then…

Dark clouds formed in the sky above her head.

Lightning.

Thunder.
