Chapter 5: THE FIERCE ARROW

"She's a spy sent by that stinky bastard, Rong Qiqiang," Hei Bao breathed out. He gritted his teeth while saying that name. His face displayed dislike and disgust. His finger claws retracted and so did his wolf fangs.

His bloody red eyes disappeared and the bright golden and yellowish eyes were on display again. After he calmed down, he figured he wouldn't beat around the bush anymore. Cheung Qi might have misunderstood him and led him to shouting and growling again. This was their very first fight that almost made them reveal their forms. But, they weren't that stupid enough to continue fighting. They aren't kids anymore.

"My Lord, what do you mean?" asked Cheung Qi.

"My Lord, you two just met at the bar last night. Or, are you saying you have met her before? "he asked, eyes wide open. Hei Bao just stayed silent, still pinching the bridge of his nose.

Hei Bao paused and sighed, then closed his eyes. He straightened his body and leant his back against his chair. He opened his eyes, those beautiful eyes that seemed to shine brighter than the sun.

"I just happened to see the small tattoo behind her ear when we had sex last night. And I remembered the report you gave me weeks before. " Hei Bao continued.

"What report?" asked Cheung Qi. He was confused. He reported to Hei Bao almost everyday, so he wondered which one?

"The one about those killings in C city. Those who were bitten by vampires had a tattoo left on their bodies, be it on their back, arms or legs. I thought maybe she did the killing or she just left a mark. And that tattoos represent something. When you wake up from the dead after being bitten, you'll recognize yourself as one of the vampire clan. The only people who can mark a tattoo are the people who inherited the will to mark whoever they killed ", said Hei Bao.

"And you're saying that Fei Nian must be one of those people, is that right?" Cheung Qi asked curiously.

" I'm not so sure but, maybe she is," Hei Bao answered.

"My Lord, may I ask what kind of tattoo it is? " Cheung Qi asked.

"A red moon. Red represents blood. So when the moon becomes red, they will hunt down humans and drink their blood dry " Hei Bao blankly answered. Dislike in his voice can be heard.

"Rong Qiqiang really deserves to be a leader. He makes all things related to their clan" Cheung Qi stated. Hei Bao nodded his head once a little.

"Last night, when she suddenly appeared in front of me, she was already suspicious. We hid our smell and did not tell anyone we were going out. That's what she got for being so careless and stupid" Hei Bao said.

"We just entered the club at that time, a club where many people were. Why did she choose us who was in the very corner? when there are so many people around?" asked Cheung Qi. He stared at Hei Bao and was about to ask something again. But was stopped by Hei Bao.

"After I saw her tattoo behind her ear, that's when I knew she was from the vampire clan. So, I planned on taking her to a hotel and left after I killed her. But, something came up and I ended up bringing her here and that's what happened," Hei Bao.

"Then why did you use Rui?" asked Cheung Qi. Hei Bao suddenly laughed loudly. It wasn't a normal laugh, it was a devious laugh. Hei Bao shakes his head left and right, then finally stops. His devious smile dropped. Now his face was grim.

"I wonder what would have happened if I wasn't holding Rui at that time. It is funny to think that, once she saw Rui, she began shaking like a scaredy cat". Hei Bai stood up and turned around to face his window, then put both his hands in his pocket.

"She seemed to know what Rui was for. And she seemed to be very familiar with my weapon. But, how? " Hei Bao continued. He narrowed his eyebrows and tried to think.

"Then how did you know that she was a spy sent by Rong Qiqiang?" Cheung Qi.

"That was just a guess." Hei Bao. His gaze dropped and he stared down at the building. Hei Bao's lips suddenly lifted into a smirk.

"But, it seems like I never guessed it wrong," he continued. When Hei Bao looked down, he saw a man who was wearing all black and wearing a black hat too. He may have been on the 50th floor, but his eyes were like telescopes. He turned around and faced Cheung Qi.

"I need you to investigate Fei Nian's whereabouts. The sooner the better. " Hei Bao commanded. Suddenly, his stomach grumbled, making Cheung Qi laugh a little, so he glared at him.

"I spent my precious time on you talking that I even forgot to have breakfast," Hei Bao huffed.

"Let's go eat outside. Order anything you want, "Hei Bao said and walked to the door. He opened it and walked out. With Cheung Qi following Hei Bao, they walked to the elevator without speaking a single word until they reached the garage.

After Hei Bao said his last sentence, Cheung Qi's face lit up and her eyes shone. This guy loves to eat, but luckily he does not gain weight. (I hope all.) Cheung Qi was about to open his car door when Hei Bao suddenly called out to him.

"You drive. I'm so hungry that I don't have the strength to even lift a finger, "Hei Bao lazily said and entered the car and sat in the back. But you managed to open the door?

'But you managed to open the door?' Cheung Qi. He walked over to Hei Bao's black Mercedes Benz and opened the door to the driver's seat before sitting down. They then drove off.

Instead of bringing his boss to the luxurious restaurant, he brought him to the simple and flowery café. I stopped and parked the car in front of it. Once Hei Bao saw the scenery outside, he stared at the window in disbelief. Hei Bao turned his head to look at Cheung Qi's back.

"A-Qi, what the hell?" Hei Bao only uttered in shock. Cheung Qi just smiled and looked at Hei Bao in the mirror. Then he started to lose his seatbelt.

"Chu Yan brought me here once and I met two of her friends who work here." Cheung Qi said. He did not wait for Hei Bao's reply, since he'd just received a refusal and more excuses, and went out the door first. Hei Bao could only sigh and just follow Cheung Qi outside the car.

As they were making their way to the café door, Hei Bao could smell the faint sweet scent of a strawberry. But, there is something sweeter that is mixed into it. The smell dragged his feet and made him walk a bit faster. Something sweeter that can make his mind go crazy and blank.

"Welcome," a deep yet gentle voice sounded in his ears. Making him look at the person with a fwip, faster than lightning. They say, when you meet your mate someday, you'll think that that person will be the most beautiful person in the world you've ever met.

Yet, Hei Bao wasn't sure. Instead of meeting a beautiful person, he met someone who was buffed and a handsome young man standing at the counter.

The same height as Hei Bao and Cheung Qi. He was wearing a white shirt and a black apron tied around his waist. His dark hair was down and his eyes were black. His hands were busy wiping something that Hei Bao didn't know. Hei Bao snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the quiet whispers and giggles from the customers inside the café.

He walks over to the counter, his pace is slow and his back straight, but he isn't straight. The man named Hao Mingyu lifted his face and a smile plastered on his gentle face. Just then, Hei Bao noticed that the air around the café felt warm and peaceful. The door bells chimed again. Cheung Qi appeared and his voice echoed inside the café.

"Yo man!" Cheung Qi. Hao Mingyu's eyes passed straight behind Hei Bao and landed on Cheung Qi. He smiled at the other, showing his pure white teeth, and greeted Cheung Qi.

Hao Mingyu lifted his fist, Cheung Qi did the same and they did a fist bump. Cheung Qi stood beside Hei Bao and introduced him to Hao Mingyu. He told Mingyu that Hei Bao is his boss and was here to eat something. They both give their orders to Mingyu and wander their eyes to find a seat.

They found one, then sat down and waited for their order. Hao Mingyu appeared with a tray on his hands and gave their orders. Hei Bao told Cheung Qi to pay the bill, and Cheung Qi was dumbstruck. Cheung Qi then remembered what Hei Bao said earlier.

'Order anything you want', but Hei Bao did not say that he was paying. So Cheung Qi ended up paying the bill with a grumpy face, making Hao Mingyu chuckle.

They made their way outside the café, with Hao Mingyu following behind them. Before entering the car, Hei Bao extended his arm to shake hands with Hao Mingyu. They bid their goodbyes and drove off back to the building.
