Chapter 10: [Chapter:10][First day of school.]

"Well…here we are…"

Fujimi Academy. The place where it all begins.

Well, not exactly, but it's still one of the more important places in the plot, as it's where most of the main cast are.

"Is it just me or is the school…like…big?", Kuroneko, who had the least experience with giant structures, asked.

"Elementary schools in the Academy City are larger…but then again, I guess it's pretty big for 'normal' places."

Well, in Mikoto's world, though they didn't appear in the series, I'm sure there are ESPers with abilities that increase their body sizes, and I doubt the younger kids can have perfect control over their powers.

It kind of makes sense to have most of the buildings more durable and take measures for when an accident happens.

"Although it's been quite a while since I've seen the outside world, I'm pretty sure schools aren't that big. Not in my world, at least."

Kaguya's world is…how do I say it, unique, so to speak. I remember the time period should be around the same as the twenty first century, but the culture in the Land of Fantasy itself remained similar to Japan in the feudal era. So things like schools weren't that popular yet, even though anime, manga, games, etc… from the outside world have been relatively popularised within the barrier.

"Well, the Ninja Academy is bigger than this, but only if the training grounds are included. Without the forests and lakes and mountains, just this building alone is much larger than the one in my world."

"Why don't we go inside already?", Irene asks, "I'm pretty sure we're being seen as suspicious just standing here."

Nodding, our group of six beautiful women and cute girls plus the handsome me enter the school's premises.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

"I still find it hard to believe…the principal didn't even doubt us…"

"How did you do it?", Irene asked me as the others too looked for answers.

"Oh, you know, just regular hypnosis."

"There's nothing regular about hypnotising people!"

Kuroneko's retort was ignored by us.

"I thought you said your only 'power' is your body?"

"Yes? Ah.", I look at Rias who raised the question, "What makes you think I need magic to hypnotise people?"

"You don't?" (Tsunade)

"Of course not. There are lots of things that can be done without magic or chakra or other special means you know? How do you think regular humans brainwash people?"

"But doesn't brainwashing have to start at a very early age? I mean, you need to take them when they are just babies and…"

I looked at Mikoto who was practically describing the plot of a third rated movie with a brainwashed assassin as the protagonist.

"You watch too many movies."

She turned away with a blush.

"I know someone who can control people's minds with just a gaze, but she uses her psychic powers…"

"Seriously? Does no one believe people can be controlled without special powers?"

I looked around, and everyone seemed sceptical.

"What about you, Kuroneko? Didn't you ever watch shows where magicians hypnotise people?"

"I mean, that's on TV. Nobody believes what happens on TV right?"

"Ugh! Forget it!"

What the hell!? I spent so long developing my 'Hypnosis : 743' skill, and instead of being applauded, I'm being doubted instead!?

((Well duh. As supernatural beings, they would naturally hold disdain towards 'ordinary' people, so why would they believe in ordinary folks being able to imitate them even without things like magic?))

I could only shake my head with a sigh.

"It doesn't matter. Just go to your classes already."

"Ara, no need to feel so sad, Admin-san. I believe you."

"And I would believe you too, if you didn't have that teasing smile on your pretty face. Now shoo."

I waved Kaguya away, making her chuckle as the group dispersed.

Since the Principal was under my control, we could freely decide what to teach and which class to join.

Rias joined the same class as Saeko Busujima, wanting to meet her and see if she would want to become her knight.

Just because she knows her future and can fix her mistakes doesn't mean she wouldn't want people with potential to join her peerage.

Speaking of, before any of the haters could start flaming her, Rias mentioned how she apologised to those in her peerage that didn't have much of a choice when they joined, like Gasper, Kiba, and even Koneko. She also said she tried to help clear Koneko's sister's name, but that just mentioning her made Kineko unstable, so she decided to find solid evidence first.

People change, people, even someone bitchy, like Rias is made out to be in some fanfics, can change for the better.

Anyway, I'm actually a little surprised she didn't try to ask one of the members to join her peerage, but I guess that's the respect she's giving us, treating us as equals and all that.

As for a Mikoto and Kuroneko, even if they could pass off as short for their fake ages, no one would believe them to be older than 15 or 16, so they joined the class with Rei Miyamoto and Saya Takagi.

Tsunade is the school nurse, and would be learning all she could about modern medicine in the next three months. I would have actually let her take a post like a university student or better yet, a professor with access to more detailed work, and with her 'Transformation Jutsu', she would have fit in any role, but something told me leaving her all alone with her studies unsupervised is a bad idea.

((You have good instincts.))

That I do, Dea-chan, that I do.

Irene is going to teach english. Don't ask me how she knows the language, I asked her too, and she was like,

"I learnt it last night."

As expected of the genius magician praised by both the Dragon King Acnologia and the immortal Zeref.

((You know you can learn a language in like a glimpse right? Your IQ might not have increased much but your 'intelligence', that it, your learning speed, comprehension speed, thinking speed, memory, and everything else have all become 'infinite' too.))

Oh yeah, now that you mention it, guess I'm a genius too huh?

As expected of me. Muahahahaha!

((Shut it, and get on with the story already.))

Tsk, kill sport.

Anyway, Kaguya chose to teach Japanese. It kind of suits her, someone who looks like a traditional Japanese Princess (anime version of course).

Me? Of course, yours truly is going to teach an entirely new subject. I originally wanted to teach Music, but decided to do something more fun instead.

It's a new voluntary / compulsory class, meaning it's technically voluntary, but anyone who doesn't attend won't be looked at nicely, making it technically compulsory as well.

The class will replace an hour of club activities everyday, which means…

"I'm bored."

((Well, there's nothing you can do. You have till afternoon before your class starts.))

Oh, in case you're wondering, I won't tell you what the class is. It'll be a surprise.

But if one of you can guess what it is without taking a peek at the next chapter when it's released, well…

I'll give you a thumbs up GIF and a like, I guess.

Anyway, moving on…

"Actually, why don't I explore the school?"

It was a pretty good idea, especially since I plan on making it the base of the survivor's camp we make.

What, you thought we'd go to the Takagi Estate? Of course we will, but later. As for why the school…

Well, considering how we'll be mingling with the students and teachers and staff for the next three months, I doubt the younger and more naive girls would take it well if the friends they made end up dying.

With that thought in mind, I changed my destination from the staff room, where I would need to spend the whole morning since I'm free till afternoon, to one of the famous locations of this school.

The roof top where Takashi Komiro's boy friend Hisashi Igo is killed by him.

Of course, by boy friend, I meant male friend. What are you thinking of? Get your mind out of the gutter, people!

"Huh, what do you know? This place is surprisingly pretty nice."

The season was early summer, meaning the morning sun wasn't harsh. Being near the sea, the cool breeze makes one feel relaxed, sleepy, even.

"Well…although I wanted to explore the school, a map wouldn't be so bad right?"

Problem is, even if I had the principal under control, sleeping out in the open while being a teacher probably isn't the best way to start his career, even if it doesn't really matter.

Looking around, I find the astronomy department's observation telescope, and smirk as I flash to its top.

Lying down, making sure I wouldn't be seen unless someone deliberately searches this part of the roof, I smile as I let my body relax.

"Ah…this is life…"

Honestly, even though not much happened, from activating the Chat Group to going to the first mission, there was very little time in between.

And I had never been a fan of having lots of things happen to me consecutively, denying me of my free time.

Cause, all my complaints about boredom aside, I actually liked taking a nap like this every now and then.

I blinked as I felt a presence, and smiled as Dea-chan appeared on top of me, using my body as her bed as her head rested in my chest.

"Sweet dreams, Dea-chan."

"Sweet dreams."

Yeah, taking a nap like this once in a while…really isn't so bad.
