Chapter 3: The Distant Kingdom
Mia froze after listening to her analyzation,then she said with furrowed eyebrows,"I wonder what is their purpose for doing this,I just hope that we don't jump into another fire pit"
"I also hope so,alright Mia now help me dress up like a 'royal'"Rebecca sighed as she said
"Okay"Mia said excitedly before walking towards the wardrobe to choose a dress.She always wanted to dress Rebecca up as beautiful as a princess,so she temporarily forgot about all the bad things before thinking about how to dress her up,do her hair and makeup
After forty five minutes when Rebecca looked at the reflection in the mirror,she couldn't even recognise herself
"This is me?" Rebecca said in disbelief
"Yes,do you like my masterpiece"Mia said while grinning happily
-knock-
At that moment a knock was heard and the two glanced at each other before Mia strode towards the door
When she opened the door she saw a young handsome man dressed in some foreign clothes
The man looked at Mia sharply before saying,"Is your highness ready"
Mia felt pressured being stared by the man's sharp eyes but she decided to bite the bullet and to know the intention of the man before letting him know anything about her highness
"You are"Mia questioned the man as her body is trembling in fear
"I am Evan Astley,the right hand man of Archduke Augustine",the man answered simply
Mia nodded her head slightly thinking in her heart that this man is here to take her highness away
When Rebecca heard this she stood up and looked at Evan before questioning him
"Can I take Mia with me"
Mia was startled hearing the question from Rebecca and thought to herself silently
'It seems that her highness does not know that when a noble lady or a princess from royal family gets married they take their personal maids with them'
The princess is wearing a light yellow dress with white flat shoes,her hair is tied in a ponytail and for the makeup,she is wearing a light pink shade in her lips and some pearl powder on her face
She looks stunning but it still could not hide her malnourished body
Evan looked at Rebecca,surprise filled his eyes before quickly regaining his usual sharp eyes
Those sharp eyes made Rebecca's hair stand up in the back of her neck,she took a deep breath and straightened her back to not show any timidity
Then looked at Evan's eyes and waited for his answer
Evan looked at Rebecca deeply and bowed before answering respectfully,"Yes of course you can,your highness"
Rebecca heaved a sigh of relief and said with a faint smile,"that's good"
"Your highness,you don't have to take anything with you apart from some of your cherished belongings".Evan said
"I don't have any cherished belongings that I have to take but Mia..",Rebecca said as she glanced at Mia
She doesn't have any precious belongings apart from the ruby necklace that she is wearing now that her mother used to wear when she was alive,Before her mother was buried Anne took out the necklace from her mother's neck and put it on her neck
Evan understood what Rebecca is trying to say,he said to Mia,"Miss your daily necessities,accommodation and salary will be taken care in the Archduke's mansion so you just need to take your precious belongings"
"Uhh I don't have any"Mia said to Evan before saying to Rebecca,"your highness let's go now"
Rebecca muttered an okay before Evan said,"please follow me,your highness"
After saying that Evan turned around and strode off down the corridor and Rebecca and Mia followed closely behind him
They walked out of the castle before Evan stopped at a place with nobody around and took out a small red stone with many patterns engraved on it
Rebecca curiously asked,"what is this"
"It's a teleportation stone,your highness"Evan answered
Rebecca curled her eyebrows as she asked slowly in a confused manner,"A teleportation stone"
"You will know everything once you arrive at the empire,your highness"Evan said respectfully
"Oh alright"Rebecca answered but the curiosity in her heart wasn't diminished a bit
She saw fire coming out of Evan's palm leading it towards the stone and the stone absorbed it before glowing bring red in colour,which took her by surprise as thought with wide sparkling eyes
'Is that magic,how cool it that,I want to learn how to do that'
After that a big hole in the air appeared in front of them,Rebecca could even see the place from the other side
"Your highness please take note that you may feel bit dizzy since you are experiencing it for the first time"
After saying that Evan walked inside the hole and Rebecca and Mia followed suit
After arriving even though Rebecca felt a bit dizzy she was still amazed by this extraordinary thing as she looked back just to see that the hole has long disappeared
Rebecca looked around before noticing that they are a bit away from the coast of the kingdom,she could see a large ship floating near the shore,looking around she saw the king and the queen with the crown prince and with servants around them fanning continuously and holding parasol on top of them
That selfish man neglected her and ruined her childhood and here he is enjoying his life and flaunting his power
The first time she got to know about the word 'family' she thought why does everyone else have a family while she does not,even though she has a father but that person doesn't love her he even hates her for something she does not have hands in,he puts her on a house arrest just on some mere assumptions without even the slightest care for her life and death,If it weren't for Anne and Mia she wonders whether she will be save until now
The Azov kingdom has one crown prince from the concubine who gave birth to a son in the year her mother gave birth to her,who is now the current queen and four other princes from concubines
The kingdom does not have any other princess apart from her,and now she the princess who was forgotten by the entire kingdom was suddenly remembered out of the blue for this marriage
He must have kept her alive till now to use her in exchange for benefits and for political marriages
Rebecca clenched her fists at the thought of this,she lowered her eyelids to cover the sadness floating in her eyes,her heart felt bitter and her body was trembling to prevent her from crying
Evan looked at Rebecca deeply before asking,"shall we go towards the coast and bid your farewell to the king and queen,your highness"
Rebecca woke up from her recollections as Evan spoke,then her body stiffened listening to his words as she does not even want to see their faces let alone bid farewell,she is afraid that she can't help but break down in front of him
Rebecca took a deep breath and chastised herself 'have some faith in yourself Rebecca,you cannot even control yourself then how the hell are you going to face your unknown future in a foreign land where you know nobody,get rid of your timidity and be courageous,just act casual you shall not let that man know that he has the ability to fluctuate your emotions'
After chastising herself she felt a bit better,she nodded slightly to Evan and said,"let's go"
The trio walked towards the king,the queen and the crown prince

A servant whispered something to the king's ears
When the king looked around his eyes fell on Rebecca's face,when he clashed into those golden eyes,he subconsciously thought of the scene when the girl was born and his eyes shouted fear but thinking about Evan next to Rebecca he gritted his teeth and told himself in his mind,'I cannot lose the majesty of a king in front of someone from the Magic Empire'
Evan nodded slightly to the king as a greeting
"Haha Rebecca from now on you are going to be a part of a new family so you must be obedient understand",said as he welcomed Rebecca with a kind smile and a warm hug and hoped that he won't get any bad luck on him
Rebecca nodded slightly as she was scolding the king shameless and hypocritical in her heart
She reluctantly hugged the king back
While hugging Rebecca the king thought to himself'It would be great if this jinx can kill the whole empire then I will take the empire under my control and then learn magic and then rule the empire.Then I don't have to worry about loosing my power instead I will become the emperor'
The more he thought about it the more kindly the king smiled at Rebecca but she only felt that goosebumps are rising on her body
After the hug,Rebecca bowed to the queen and the crown prince and they smiled calmly at her with disgust hidden in their eyes
When Rebecca saw the look in their eyes she thought,'I pity you for having such a stupid husband/father'
Then Rebecca looked at Evan
Evan signalled to someone on the ship to throw the ladders down and extended his hand towards Rebecca
"Your highness I will help you"
Rebecca placed her hand on Evan's and walked on the shallow waters before climbing up the ladder and getting on the ship
"Your highness please be steady as we are going to set off now"
Rebecca nodded slightly to let him know that she understood
The ship departs and is moving away from the kingdom in a very fast speed
As Rebecca looked at the distant kingdom,her eyes glowed with determination as she muttered under her breath,"Since you all did not hesitate to abandon me you all are in no position to ask for my forgiveness,one day I will take revenge for all my sufferings"
