Chapter 67: A new friend?

(3rd pov)

He had grown a lot from the last time he had seen him. Guy took a look at his empire and it was certainly different from his previous one. An empire of monsters.

When Guy had used his analysis skill on Rimuru he was surprised by what he saw.

'Rudra.'

Not only that but the strength of the person in front of him had grown a lot. It was hard to tell since he was suddenly able to hide his strength quite well but Guy had enough experience to estimate another's strength.

Guy began to make theories in his brain. After all, he hadn't noticed this the last time he had looked at him back during Walpurgis. But soon enough he had found an answer that was good enough for him.

'He was too weak back then. Because he was such an idiot in the past and messed with his soul somehow ended in the body of a slime. Maybe only a small fraction of it. Yet as the body grew stronger his soul was able to heal. And the old fragmented soul returned to one body.'

Guy would be lying if he said he wasn't excited to see his old friend. It didn't matter if he had lost his memories and had entered a new body. That was his best friend right in front of him.

So he wasn't able to hold himself back and wanted to fight him. He wanted to see if he would still get the same feeling he always got while fighting him, fun. As a primordial who stood at the apex of the world, there were few things that could entertain him. He had spent most of his time just lazing around and fulfilling his agreement with Veldanava.

When they stood in front of each other in the same battle ring they had fought so many times before he couldn't help but get a bit nostalgic.

His first move was to stop time and approach him. What he never expected was for him to also be able to move in the frozen world.

Guy was wrong about one thing. This wasn't going to be like his past battles. It was more fun.

In the past, Rudra and he were at the exact same level of strength. A battle in which any move could turn the tide, yet always ended in a draw. Guy had spent so much time gathering strength and was sure he would have to lower his strength to what it was back then. But the punch he felt told him otherwise.

For some reason whenever he tried to use his lord of Pride he would always get confusing results.

'Did Rudra get so tired of me copying all the moves he spent so much time learning that he obtained a skill to counter it when he was reincarnated?'

Guy couldn't help but hold a burst of laughter at the thought. Yet he had to focus his all during the fight. The two void dragons that were approaching him had a hint of something he would recognize anywhere.

'Did Veldanava also entrust you with some of his power? First Michael and now this. If this causes another mess I am going to personally bring him back and kick his ass. He entrusts me with keeping balance in the world and then he pulls shit like this.'

As the fight continued on and they moved to hand-to-hand combat he noticed something.

'He's copying me.'

Guy had to hold back another laughter.

'I can't believe it, he really has a skill like mine. Quite the petty one aren't you? Though I can't blame you for being jealous of my Lucifer. I guess I should return everything I stole from you.'

With every new move he showed him was another new move that Rimuru learned.

"What do you intend to do with the Eastern empire?" Guy asked him in between swings of the sword.

"I will take care of them when it is time."

"What about the western nations that aren't your allies?"

"..."

"You know, you're a bit of a cheater. At this rate, I might actually lose the bet. Though I guess you broke the rules by acting personally so I can call it a draw."

"Hm?"

"Oh well, I returned the favor. Time to get back to the fight." Guy said as he used the final move he had left to teach.

Using the chance he had opened Guy struck with a full-powered attack.

His fist was coated in a dark aura and he sent a punch forward.

"Calamity claw."

Of course, this attack was dodged without a problem. However, that was within expectations. It didn't matter how Rimuru dodged or if he teleported. Guy was only opening a window so that he could activate his skill once again.

"Gabriel, Fixation."

Every particle inside the ring had been frozen, if time stop wouldn't work then he would freeze him in place. Even if it only lasted a second that was all he needed. But what he didn't expect was for him not to be slowed down at all.

This one moment taken off guard was all Rimuru needed.

"Let me go all out as well."

Rimuru pointed a finger towards Guy and tiny sparks began to appear on his finger. This was the activation of True Dragon Magic(Veldora.)

"Bang."

A beam of lightning shot out of his finger at an extremely fast speed. Threatening to destroy anything in its path. Even with all of his speed Guy could see this beam moving faster than he could. Using his control over space Guy instantaneously teleported out of the way of the beam. Yet the moment his sight adjusted to the new location he saw the beam in front of him once again.

The lighting beam had turned to follow Guy, doing an unnatural and abrupt turn yet not losing any of its speed. The beam cut through Guy's chest sending an extremely high electric current through his body. Yet it didn't stop there. The moment the beam had cut through his body it turned once again and went through his back. The beam continued to jump back and forth until Guy's body was riddled with beams. And once the job was done the beam disappeared.

Guy was left standing without being able to move his body. The electricity that coerced through the beam had made all of his body tense up and begin to spasm. Sensing his vision beginning to blur a little he thought as he activated the copied Satan, lord of Wrath.

'I did say I would go all out didn't I'

A large wave of magicules left his body as they began to burn in order to increase his strength. Guy was making an intentional effort to burn as many magicules as he could from the beginning to increase his healing.

Rimuru's body became coated in black lighting as he appeared in front of Guy who had yet to recover from the attack. Punch after punch Guy got launched throughout the entire battlefield. Guy was struggling to keep up but his body was slowly becoming strong enough. All it took was time.

Eventually, Guy got launched into the sky and rimuru appeared above him with a flash of lightning. The traces of lighting had been left all though the battlefield suddenly disappeared. And for a moment there was quiet on the battlefield. And the very next moment, once the punch connected with Guy a massive wave of lighting struck him and he got launched towards the ground.

Guy hit the ground with such strength that the entire battle ring shattered and exploded. However, all of the pieces seemed to stop moments before touching the protection field Velzard had set up.

For some reason, the skill that was giving him strength stopped working just before the punch. And Guy's eyes were slowly being filled with darkness.

'Is this… my loss?'

Were the last thoughts he had before he became unconscious.

Guy opened his eyes to see Velzard and Rimuru standing side by side looking at him.

"KufuahAHAhAHhahaAHHAHAHA" Guy couldn't hold back the joy he felt at the moment.

"See, you broke him. You gotta pay me reparations since I am the one who is going to have to take care of him." Velzard said with a scolding tone while looking at Rimuru.

"I'm pretty sure he was already like that."

Velzard released a smile and laughter.

"Hehe, you're right."

Guy slowly stood up from the rubble as his strength was returning to him.

"I lost…"

In the past, the only person Guy had really lost to was Veldanava. And that was a really long time ago. Back before he even awakened his Pride skill. Back when he was new to this world, not long after he had been summoned by some foolish humans.

Rather than disappointment, all he felt was a fire that had long dwindled reignite in his heart.

'I must have been lazing around too much since I let this happen.'

Determination and a wide smile on his face he turned around to look at Rimuru.

"So, who is it going to be? Rain or Mizeri?"

"Huh?"

"I lost my bet, didn't I?"

The two maids that had been watching this whole event happen suddenly jolted. Mizeri enjoyed her work on the frozen continent. Or well, at the very least she didn't complain. She was reliable and was always thinking ahead. Efficient and an exemplary maid.

Rain on the other hand saw her chance to escape this frozen wasteland. She was sick of having to spend so much time in the cold, even if she was immune to it she still had to deal with the cold affecting her environment.

Rain stepped forward and with a shameless tone said.

"You should definitely pick me."
