Book of Elad: Prologue

In the ancient days of Israel, before God's people's grand exodus from Egypt, Ázarʾēl, the angel of death, flew down to Earth to speak to Jacob, the Son of Isaac, who was the Son of Abraham.

"Why have you taken the long journey from God's great kingdom to Earth, O great Archangel of Death?" asked Jacob.

"I have come to bring good offerings from Heaven to give to your great line, I implore you to allow me to stay with you for seven days. In these seven days, we shall feast until the seventh day, where we will rest and give thanks to the Father, our great Lord." replied Ázarʾēl.

Ázarʾēl, however, was lying. He had come often to see Leah, Jacob's first wife. For Rachel was Jacob's favorite wife, not Leah, and in her desperation for attention and love she found Ázarʾēl. While Jacob allowed them to stay within their house, for the first six nights, Ázarʾēl visited Leah's room in the night. There they committed a grave sin against God, adultery. After seven nights, Ázarʾēl left as promised, much to Leah's dismay. It was too late, however. Leah was consumed by her lust and greed and had pulled Ázarʾēl into her sinful nature. In a few months time, it became clear that they had conceived a child. God, angry at Ázarʾēl's failure to stay pure and furious at Leah for tempting an archangel. God, in his rage and fury, cursed the child, granting it eternal life on Earth. Never would he be allowed to enter God's kingdom, but because the child had not sinned yet, he could not send it to Hell. A fate much worse than death, the child would grow till adulthood, then cease to age. The child would watch as history pushes forward, forever and ever. He would not starve. He would not thirst. No sword could cut him nor arrow pierce him.

Later that night, Leah cried out for her bastard son. Leah swore to love him as much as she could so that he would not live a sad life. God, however, did not allow her this wish and banished the child. A child unloved by even God has no place among the House of Jacob. He was granted only a name. He was called Elad, and with his name, came a mission.

"O child of Angel, O child of Man, I grant you name and I grant you purpose. Go throughout the world and observe the children of my kingdom. Discover for yourself what it is to be alive. Discover what it is to be right in the eyes of God and wrong in the eyes of God. If you can do this, I shall grant you death. A child like you was never meant to be born into the world, and you have my pity. To have the powers of Heaven through your father, but the failures of man through your mother is a more unbearable curse than your life will ever be. You will be feared. You will be hated. You will know true loneliness soon enough, child.

These are the writings of disciple Matthew who, upon finishing his writing, was told to burn the book, as Elad was not a figure of the bible and not a true member of Israel. He is Heaven's hated child and thus has no place in the Bible of God. Thus, the children of Israel are forbidden from adopting the child of Ázarʾēl into the kingdom, less you incur the wrath of the Father.
