Chapter 3: Chapter 3: the new world
After months of being monitored, I can finally go outside of my room. I left the room to find myself being escorted by four men, wearing black and tasers by their side, down a plain corridor toward a steel door.
When I entered I saw seven people sitting on chairs starring at me with sceptical eyes looking me from head to toe.
Before things started to get awkward Lily walked in wearing her usual white lab coat with a white shirt and black trousers.
"So before we begin shall we see what we have here." One of the men in the room stated causing everyone to stare at me once again.
Lily passed a clipboard to the man at the far end of the table.
He looked over the clipboard, over his glasses only to give a look of disappointment. I had no idea what he was looking at but from the frown on his face I could see something was wrong with me. He looked like a disappointed father who just saw his child's report card saying D.
"Why did you chose him? Why? He has nearly no military training whatsoever and already cost me 17 billion dollars. Do you want me to pay more to train him?"the man said towards Lily with clear anger in his voice.
"Sir with all dew respect he was the most compatible with the body and was the only one with a clean record in the system."Lily said
"Sir… if I can call you that can't you just download combat abilities into my body." I said nervously
"Hm. That could work if we downloaded it slowly." Lily responded
"Fine. Leave." The mysterious man said with a slight look of being impressed before sending us out.
I was again escorted out the room but not back to my room instead to a room filled with monitors and a evil looking chair that looked like something from the matrix. I was sat down in the chair before secured.
I don't know what happened after but I somehow knew basic close combat. This happened for weeks until I knew most close combat techniques. Then I moved onto weapon training, the same as before.
When I learned almost all the skills possible before test driving my new found skills. I went out with the four men who normally escort me towards a training room. After training I saw my test scores to see almost perfect scores. I was flabbergasted.
I guess am machine after all.
Unfortunately, since my body wasn't meant for that much energy usage in one day so my body became jello, my eye's became blurred and my feet became stiff. My consciousness went back to my private digital realm.
My world was still but at least I wasn't alone. Since I connected to the iPhone I had access to the internet, meaning web-novels.
"At least I won't be bored during my isolation. I wonder how long till they bring me back online?"
I went into the internet and caught up on history only to find a war covered world. This was the new world.
