Chapter 3: The Prophecy, And The First Death (Williams POV)

Opening my eyes, I immediately noticed my mother and father looking at me with a surprised face they hugged me tightly refusing to let go, confused I asked "what's going on?"

My mother finally let go as well as my dad, and the explained saying "when you were out getting herbs you were attacked by a wolf, but there was what seemed to be a mage nearby and they saved your life."

Surprised that I couldn't remember most of it I asked "is the mage around, I'd like to thank him , as well as ask him a few questions."

My mother shook her head and said "no he's not around, it was your brother that brought you back and told us about the mage."

I got out of bed surprising my mother and father who tried to get me to lay back down. I ignored them wanting to ask Arthur about the man, I walked out of my room and found Arthur sitting at the table with Amethyst. Walking over to the table I asked "could either of you tell me about the man that saved me?"

The both looked up a bit startled by my sudden appearance, my brother smiled and said "we'll look who's awake, anyways the guy you were talking about-"

Arthur was cut off as Amethyst continued his sentence saying "the man had all black in with a hood covering his face, almost like an assassin. They seemed to be very well versed in healing magic or at least healing potions, but they also seemed very cold to others but so kind to you."

Confused I mumbled to myself "why would he be kind to me but cold to others?"

Arthur and Amethyst both shrugged, and continued talking. I walked away and sat down on the bottom stair that led to the office loft. I continued thinking about this person, and tried to reason why they acted that way towards me. As I was thinking, I heard the front door open and then what sounded like a Yelp. I walked around the corner to see my mother impaled on a sword that went all the way through her and almost touched the ground. Falling to the ground petrified, I heard my father run out. He was holding his sword, and tried to attack the infiltrators that had killed mother. As he attacked the one that killed mother a second one appeared, and stabbed him through the chest. Still on the ground I saw as one of them walked up to me, he was wearing a white hood over some armor. The man said "don't worry boy we're here to protect you, and bring you to the side of righteousness!"

Still terrified, I watched as another sword impaled the man talking to me as well. The man who had impaled him wore assassin like clothing with his black hood pulled over covering his face. Just as Arthur and Amethyst came running out, the other man placed the blade in my hand badly dodging the man in black. They both disappeared, making it seem like I had killed mother and father. Arthur looked at me terrified and I tried to explain but they wouldn't understand. Arthur ran out the door, and Amethyst collapsed. As soon as Arthur left the two men appeared again this time clashing swords, I ran over to Amethyst and tried to protect her. Amethyst looked at me with terrified eyes as I tried to explain saying "I didn't do it, it was that man in white and he made it look like I did it.

Still scared, and slightly distrusting of me she nodded her head. The man in black seemed to be losing the fight, but all of a sudden as soon as their blades released each other. The blade of the man in black was so fast it seemed invisible, the blade sliced through the man in whites head as he fell to the ground dying on the spot. The man in black turned towards us, and grabbed my hand. In a low raspy voice he said "let's go, kill the girl we can't have her seeing where we're going until I can tell she's trustworthy."

Still scared, but now angry I yelled "I'll never kill Amethyst, if anything I'll protect her until I die!"

The man placed his hand on my shoulder and said "do it! I can just revive her! She can NOT know where we're going and how to get there unless I know I can trust her!"

"Are you sure?" I questioned him, he nodded confirming. Hearing this I stood up from my crouched position, and raised the sword that the man I white shoved into my hands. Looking at her with sorrowful eyes I said "If what he says is true, then don't worry I'm not killing you think of it as being knocked out."

I swung the sword down decapitating my own sister, coming to the realization of what I fist did. I fell to my knees and said "I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry, Amethyst."

The man in black put his hand in my shoulder again and restated "she'll be fine, William. I'll revive her when we get to my home."

Nodding my head, I turned to him and asked "why did you come to get me I have no idea who you are?"

The man smiled and said "because of the prophecy."

He must've seen the confused look on my face, when he said "the prophecy goes like this, born triplets, leaving strangers. The light and the darkness fight over only two, but he third could be most powerful." He continued saying "William you are the third, and the most powerful. I want you to join my as well as your sister, and eventually we will get your brother too."

I nodded finally understanding but asked "so how did you know we were the ones in the prophecy?"

The man then said "because it has been over fifteen years, and you three are the only triplets to be born in that time. Besides I was told that the boy that would come join our side would be attacked by a wolf, and who did I find being attacked. Well of course it was you and your sister, so that's how I knew."

I nodded again and asked one more question "why am I the third, I'm sure Arthur and Amethyst would be much more powerful."

The man chuckled and said "because when you were being attacked you acted as though you heard a voice, and then the next second you had grabbed a stick and stabbed it through the skull of the wolf. The third triplet, when they are in danger, will hear a voice telling them what to do to get out of there safely. So that's how I knew it was you."

I nodded my head, and the next thing he said was "now grab you sisters head and body and come with me."

I grabbed Amethyst body and head, hoping he was telling the truth. I looked back one more time, and stared at the dead body's of both my mother and father. With my free hand I gripped my pendent, and turned around walking through the door to the man.
