Chapter 15: Meeting Madam Chen.
"Young mistress,we should have taken the horse carriage.I can't believe this people are shamelessly staring at you as though you are a ghost."Zhan angrily said.
"It's okay,just ignore them.They must have been hoping to see Meihui's dead body instead. I wonder what the poor girl had done to deserve such hatred." Princess Xiao Ai said and sighed.
A passerby who couldn't keep his curiosity to herself approached Princess Xiao Ai.
"Please excuse me miss,I would like to ask if you are the daughter of Lord Jiang and Madam Jiang." The woman asked while scratching the back of her head.
"Yes,I am Jiang Meihui.Any problems with that?" Princess Xiao Ai confidently replied and raised an eyebrow.
"Ha! Ha! Ha!.I don't have a problem.Why would I have a problem?" The woman said and gave a dry laugh.
"If there is nothing left to say then I will leave now.Zhan! let's go." Princess Xiao Ai said and left.
The woman stared at Princess Xiao Ai until she disappeared into the crowd.
"Young master,I think we should head back to the palace now." Huan advised looking tired.
"No,I can't give up now.Lets keep searching.Let's check the bath house." The second prince said and smiled while an exhausted Huan followed him.
"As if those gossip were not annoying enough,now we have to talk to Madam Chen as well?" Zhan angrily said.
"Madam Chen? Who is that?" Princess Xiao Ai frowned and asked.
"Madam Chen is young master Chao Xiang's mother.Your mother in law to be.She seems very nice and calm but the truth is that she is actually very cunning."
Princess Xiao Ai retracted her gaze from Zhan and looked in front of her only to see Madam Chen and her maid approaching.
"Isn't that Zhan? Meihui's servant? Madam Chen asked.
"Yes Madam,it seems like the young lady walking with her is young mistress Meihui." Madam Chen's maid replied.
"If that is the case then, I must not fail to fix her wedding with Chao Xiang.She is really beautiful and elegant.I really didn't expect this.Now I can proudly say that she is my daughter in law to be." Madam Chen said and smiled.
"Greetings to Madam Chen." Princess Xiao Ai said and bowed as she approached Madam Chen.
"How are you doing my dear?I hope you are fully recovered.?" Madam Chen asked
"I am perfectly fine Madam Chen.Thanks for your concern.You are the only one who loves me in the entire world aren't you?"Princess Xiao Ai replied and smirked.
"Yes,now that you are back,I think….."
"I have work to do.I must go now." Princess Xiao Ai said and left.
"Did….did she just cut me off?How dating of her!" Madam Chen blinked her eyes in shock.
"I have to reconsider this alliance." She snorted and left.
"Welcome miss,how may I help you?" A worker at Qingfeng restaurant greets Princess Xiao Ai and Zhan as they arrive.
"I need a room please."
"Sure.Please follow me." The worker leads Princess Xiao Ai and Zhan to a room upstairs.
"Thank you." Princess Xiao Ai muttered and entered the room with Zhan.
"Let me know if you need anything else." The worker said and left.
Zhan closes the door while Princess Xiao Ai changes into the white robe and the fake mustache.
"What will you do now?" Zhan asked curiously.
"I will mingle with the other people that are here.You must wait for me to come back." Princess Xiao Ai said and left the room.
"Okay." Zhan says and closes the door.
Princess Xiao Ai goes downstairs and goes to a table occupied by young and old men.
