Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Deal!

When they returned to the office right after lunch, Jackie brought Bob to her office while the others headed to the conference room.

When he stepped into her room, he gazed out the glass wall toward the Marina Bay.

“You have a very nice office, Jackie, and quite an impressive view, I might add.”

“Thanks, Bob. Please have a seat,” she replied, smiling cautiously.

*What’s on his mind? Is he gonna bring his tech team in? Does he plan to squeeze us for equity?*

And sure enough, he again brought up his tech company, MyStacks, and what they could do for the project.

“My tech team has been together since we started operations. They’re intimate with our core operations and I don’t see anyone else leading backend development,” she responded, keeping a stiff upper lip.

He smiled at her, quite taken by the way she stood her ground -- graceful, yet assertive.
