Chapter 89: 89. Rescue 2
King had already left the place long ago by the time other soldiers even got there. There was another Mutant between the soldiers and he tried to use his heightened sense of smell like a tracker but couldn't find anything.
"The opponent is erasing his smell somehow". The mutant said and all of them started to intensively search the base for the intruder.
Steve was currently getting close to where Bucky and others were confined and he had some additional weapons in his arms like he looted some people on the way.
"The guard is tightening. Hope King is okay over there". Steve murmured under his breath and sped up his pace.
He was just a couple hundred metres away from the confinement cell. He was ready for any additional action.
King on the other hand had slipped away from the area of search and was making his way to the very centre of the base.
'Red skull should be in this room'. King looked at the metal door in front of him and prepared to enter immediately.
He entered the room and saw that there was no one in the room and the whole room was in a mess like someone took off really hastily.
'This guy's danger sense is not normal'. King rummaged through the mess on the floor and found a scroll.
He opened the scroll and saw a map of different hideouts all over Europe and then some more in the other parts of the world.
'That guy is an idiot'. King smiled mischievously while looking at the map and felt the fluctuations of Space stone in the room.
Then he exited and bolted towards the hangar in the base without regards to anything on his way. He was going to give that guy some inconvenience.
As soon as he appeared inside the hangar. He saw Red Skull leaving quickly on a Helicopter and Steve laying there like a dead dog with his suit ripped apart.
'I got late handling those hordes of enemies'. King ran towards Steve and saw him still breathing. So he was quite relieved.
"Wake up Idiot". King slapped him on the face and woke him up.
"Let me rest". Steve took deep and long breaths while speaking with some difficulty.
"No rest to the wicked". King said and picked him up like a luggage by the belt of his uniform.
"The rest of you follow me". He said to the rest of the commandos there that were looking at their two saviours in a daze.
"(Roar), we are going home". The soldiers all roared in excitement and yelled.
"We are not out of danger yet. So be serious and vigilant". King looked back at them and exhorted seriously.
All of them controlled their emotions and readied their weapons to make sure that they are ready to use them at any time.
"Stop the captives!" Some german soldiers yelled and started to open fire at the captives being led out by King.
"Take cover". King gave the order and took Steve's shield with him to counter the soldiers while Steve was resting behind cover.
'The magical thing about this shield is that you don need to cover your lower body and no one will fire there at all'. King ridiculed in his mind and quickly entered the flock of soldiers.
Then a massacre ensued. King didn't give a shit and started to slaughter the soldiers with the sword in one hand and the shield in the other.
The soldiers also expertly provided support from the back. The german soldiers were quickly broken through and the rest of captives passed with minimal casualties.
King was lugging the big guy Steve on his back as they made their outside the facility. They were able to get out fairly easily.
"Grab vehicles, Go! Go! Go!" On of the captives yelled and all of them started to get any vehicles that they could get their hands on.
They even took one of the advanced tanks that they had in the facility to drive back to the Allied camp.
Meanwhile, Howard and Peggy were facing a very pissed off superior.
"So you are telling me that you let one of the greatest minds and one of the most valuable soldiers in America go on a suicide mission?" The colonel stood up from the chair and his spittle flew on both of their faces.
He was so angry that his face was turning red from the adrenaline and blood rushing to his head. He was fully blowing his top.
"Colonel, it wasn't my fault. Steve wanted to go and then King said that he wanted to tag along. I am a victim". Howard shrugged his shoulders like it didn't concern him at all.
"You know how much those senators and Generals are going to bust up my ass if they don't come back!" Colonel roared and didn't stop shouting at them in the least.
Just then the phone in Howard's pocket started to ring. This one was given to him by King just a couple days ago and he always carried it with him.
"Sup Bitches". King was literally video calling him and even showed the huge caravan going behind him.
"Where are you?" Howard looked at the video call and he was astonished because this was the first time that he did it.
"Just blasted the whole German base into flames and now we are on out way back to the Allied base". King showed the Huge Caravan of vehicles by moving his arms and upper body a bit.
"A Loud Cheer to Victory!" King shouted at all the soldiers around him.
"To Victory!" All of them cheered together and voice resounded in the whole room where Howard was.
"What's this?" The colonel came forward and looked at phone in Howard's hands.
"This is King's invention. He is talking to me right now like those fixed phones that you use but this one is portable". Howard started going on a sermon and the Colonel was also listening intently while looking at the video.
"This could be very advantageous in War". The Colonel admitted frankly and his eyes were burning with desire.
"This one cost me millions. You can't afford it". Howard lied through his teeth. This guy got it for free.
Peggy rolled her beautiful eyes at him but didn't say anything. She also had one and knew that he was telling a lie.
