Chapter 23: CHAPTER 22
Daniel John has an identical twin brother named Darryl John. They are too identical that people cannot distinguish who is who. Even their own parents had to use their clothes to distinguish between them, so it was extremely difficult for outsiders to tell them apart.
They were both children from Laurier family, yet their destinies were polar opposites.
From a young age, Daniel was always healthy but Darryl was weak. He was sickly and cannot do extreme things such as playing outside for too long. He was also home schooled because their parents was afraid that something might happen to him while he was in school.
The Doctors' explanation was that during pregnancy, one twin hoarded most of the nutrients, leaving the other twin with a nutrient deficiency. So, while Daniel spent his childhood under the sun growing up with the kids from school, Darryl spent his childhood in the hospital and studied at home.
Because of Darryl's condition, it meant Daniel was the only one who could take over the Laurier Corporation, so the members of the Laurier family more or less preferred him.
Daniel was young and didn't know better. He didn't think much of it.
As he grew up, he finally understood that Darryl had paid the price for his own good health. So, he thought that if he was a bad kid, his parents would love Darryl more. That was when he started to skip classes and get into fights. He learned how to drink and smoke, joined gangs, stayed out late and changed girlfriends like he was just changing his clothes.
And now that Daniel turns 28, his parents are pressuring him to get married. And that's the main goal for tonight's birthday party, to match make him to the daughter of some elite families.
Aside from Deguzs family, Laurier is one of the most wealthiest and influential family around so, fixed marriage is common to them. Though it's different from Deguzs because...
A Deguzs doesn't marry for business.
But the Laurier family was known for that. They want the next Heir to only marry a woman who has a strong family background. Though Daniel doesn't like it because tying a knot is not on his vocabulary, he has no choice.
That's the reason why he became a playboy because he knows that someday he will be marrying someone he doesn't know.
But he was not yet done playing. He was not yet ready to settle down or maybe... he was just waiting for someone.

The next morning at Platinum Residence.
There was silence in the big room. The weather outside was clear, the sky was a wash of azure blue and there was a fresh scent of grass and soil lingering in the air.
Some kind of bird was perched on a branch, chirping in high spirits. Very swiftly, it flapped its wings and flew far away…
Maezhei had thought at first that she wouldn't be able to sleep on an unfamiliar bed, but she had slept so well through the night without any dreams.
So, after showering, she went downstairs where breakfast had already been prepared. She didn't see Zake, and none of the servants mentioned anything about waiting for him to eat, so she assumed he had already gone to work.
After breakfast, Maezhei was worried that she didn't really know how to take care of the Little White Tiger. She was fond of Snowy but she has some doubts.
She was afraid that Snowy might not yet accustomed to her. You really can't tell.
'What if Little White was just fond of her at first?'
'What if she was not the right person to take care of Little White?'
'What will happen if Little White suddenly throw tantrums like last time? How would she handle it?'
In the end, her worries were for nothing.
The whole morning, she was on the sofa looking at her script, while Little White Tiger sat next to her. They didn't bother each other, but shared a harmonious air.
The servants only appeared once to bring some dim sum and fruits. Their movements were very quiet and light, as if afraid to disturb the Little White Tiger who was asleep at Maezhei's feet.
It seems like Little White Tiger preferred silence.
Standing in a corner, the old butler silently observed them. Snowy is not approachable. Except for the Deguzs family, no one ever dared to get close to him. And everyone was afraid of him.
This is the first time he saw that except for the other members of the Deguzs family, Snowy let someone get close to him. Even him who was serving the family for a long time, it took him years before the white tiger get used to him.
He had curried Little White's favor for so long and yet he was only able to approach him now after feeding him beef. But this girl is a stranger and yet she only took a day to get close to Little White...
When Maezhei finished reading her script, she looked at Little White who just woke up from his short nap beside her.
Maezhei went down to sit on the carpeted floor beside Little White.
"Little White, you're so cute when you are sleeping!" she said while rubbing the white tiger's head.
The white tiger just roared softly.
Maezhei's heart almost bled out of cuteness. She couldn't resist and grab Snowy's cheeks and pinched it. She hugged the white tiger tightly, "Darling, you really have a soft fur! It was so warm too!"
"Little White, did you know that I dreamt of you lastnight? And in that dream, you let me touch your paws! They were soft, comfortable and sooo nice!"
"Little White, can I touch your paws?" she said pouting.
The white tiger just looked at her for a long time.
A simple order for his paw and he'll give his paw? That's impossible, right? Argh. Why am I thinking this. Of course, Little White wouldn't let him!
The old butler who heard her shake's his head. He knows that Snowy doesn't let anyone touch his paws. He hates it the most. This girl is just digging her own grave.
The old butler was about to leave when in the next second... he was dumbfounded.
How could that be..?
Maezhei was about to retreat when in the next second, she saw Little White's furry and meaty paw extended toward her…
Maezhei blinked.
Little White agreed? That simple?!
Her Great White would not let her because their paws are extremely sensitive. If she wanted to touch Great White's, she had to find a fortuitous day and cleanse herself with a bath… And it all still depended on luck…
Yet she did it to Little White with just a single command...
Maezhei then carefully reach out to touch his furry paw.
Ah, it feels so good! Omygod! It is so soft and just unexplainably adorable. Also, Little White didn't resist at all!!
"L-Little White, can I touch the other paw too?" Maezhei asked eagerly.
No, no! This is such a good opportunity! I must touch both paws with my own hands!
Little White immediately lifted his other paw.
Maezhei: "...!!"
The Old Butler: "!!!!"
Meanwhile, a certain someone who was on the second floor: "...."
