Chapter 4: Chapter 3: A New Beginning
Reinhard is falling down at a high velocity, he can barely perceive what's going on, the city just looks like a bunch of glistening lights, everything looks like it's back to normal, or is it?
The Goblins and knights of the Florian kingdom have taken over and have placed their flags everywhere, along with their torches, only the King's castle is left which is practically unguarded.
Ferdinand swoops down with his mighty beast, and saves Reinhard who was losing too much blood, to the point of it being fatal. His left arm got completely incinerated, and his vocal chords have been crushed.
"Oh dear boy, Reinhard I won't fail you i promise" cried Ferdinand, holding the corpse of his almost dead son.
Ferdinand flies to a nearby mountain, and leaves Reinhard there, and casts a healing spell which starts working on Reinhard's crushed organs.
Ferdinand flies back at supersonic speeds to the kingdom, he knows there's no hope of survival against such a beast, the best he can do is evacuate the royal family and his own family, and then go on to aid Reinhard.
Nero starts regaining consciousness, on the ground face front, she looks up and gets a glimpse of the destruction caused by the opposing empire.
"Eugh, my arm has been crushed, I need to aid it, but first I need to regain my composure and help Master Ferdinand in the battle" Said Nero, only to lose balance and fall down again. Her mask is completely shattered, her robe is torn and her glider is severely damaged, her armor is breaking into bits due to the impact of the cannon and the velocity of her fall.
Nero and Reinhard were outside the main area of danger, only leaving Reinhard's family, the royal family and the invaders.
Reinhard could barely process what happened in the past few minutes.
He has an inner thought and conversation with his own self.
"Am I really dead? I can barely feel my arms, I'm not audible, my body has severe burns, all that training since i was a child, all of it got burnt to ashes, I was never a worthy fighter in the first place, almost dying in just a short span of time? My one opportunity to prove that i'm useful, gone, torn to shreds. Nero sacrificed her life trying to keep the kingdom safe and to keep me protected, someone who was more of a sister to me than a mentor, someone who grew up with me just like my siblings. My father, the true warrior of the kingdom, despite of me being almost as powerful as him, i collapse within seconds while he's still pridefully fighting and protecting a fallen kingdom? I'm pathetic, what makes him so different from me..., my siblings, all are weaker than me and are still fighting more bravely than I, my whole career has been shut down, I am incapable of even getting up or talking, I'd rather want my life to end than live a pathetic miserable life as a failed warrior."
"My Children! get back he's charging up now, darling take them to safety" exclaimed Ferdinand
The radiation of the Albacore was so powerful, that it destroyed the dragons and their wings, Ferdinand's family was falling down rapidly.
"NOOO" Ferdinand shouted out, he swooped down at hypersonic speeds this time, but it was too late, the albacore released its beam, charging at the speed of light, Ferdinand couldn't even react to it, he was caught in the explosion, his last thoughts while his body got vaporized were:
"I lived a good life or atleast i thought i did, i accomplished my goal to be a man who can protect my nation and my family, or atleast i thought i did.. due to my failure as a leader, my family, the royal family, and my trusted strong soldiers have lost along with me...Reinhard, you have made me really proud, i'm sorry that i have to leave you like this, you'll have to live in a world full of despair and darkness, Nero, although you aren't my biological daughter, you served me well, and Reinhard wouldn't have become the man he is without you...my life has ended with failure"
Reinhard begins to realize, what he lacks is Will, a warrior's spirit, compassion and pride, he slowly loses consciousness again, his eyes close while he sees a glimpse of his home getting torn apart, the city where he grew up all his life, the city he promised to protect, his family being burnt to ashes, his father who was shown to be invincible, turning to ash, he lost everything, or atleast he believed he did..he has no knowledge of Nero's whereabouts, he believes she's dead but she's in a similar condition to him.
The arthurian empire was destroyed, the celestial giants had lost, the heavenly dragons who were shown to be unbeatable, were down on the ground, either dead or severely injured.
Nero regained consciousness, her pretty face was shoved into the ground, she tries getting up, with her crushed arm and wounded body, only to see a completely destroyed Arthurian empire, with nothing but ash and dust left, the whole population was wiped out.
"What...Happened" Nero questioned what she was seeing, not believing what's right infront of her eyes.
She decided to glide down there, only to find out that her glider has been completely broken. She has lost hope, she believes she's lost everything, the man she looked up to, Ferdinand, the boy who she swore to protect, who she looked at as a brother, Reinhard, she believes she's done for.
But in the distant mountain, she tries to look for anyone who's left, with her "lens of the eagle" ( take it as binoculars but in olden times ), a device that can magnify and look into distant areas via the eagle lens, these weren't produced a lot due to eagles being rare in the area. She sees nothing, no one who remains in the kingdom, she loses hope and decides to fall off to her death, right when she was going to do so, she looks with her eagle lens to see Reinhard, grasping on to life, he would've been dead but his rage and thirst for revenge is fueling him, keeping him alive, but not for long.
"Master Reinhard!" Nero was surprised and she regained some of the hope she lost.
However Reinhard was not in the best condition, some of his organs have been crushed, his body has been burnt, his arm has been incinerated, while his face looks fine, gaps through his broken armor expose his inner burns and wounds.
"Nero...Father...Mother...Brothers and Sisters..I have failed all of you, i'll be joining you in the after life."
Nero runs as fast as she can, her arm has been bothering her and causing her a lot of trouble, on a whim without second thought, she cuts her useless arm off, and runs towards Reinhard, at such a high altitude, her breathing wasn't well and she tumbled over a broken tree branch, rolling over and falling 30 feet down
"Eugh, i need to get to Reinhard fast"
While she was heavily injured and almost on the verge of death, her will and duty to save Reinhard remained.
Nero finally reached, but it was too late, Reinhard had lost too much blood.
"No, Master Reinhard!" Shouted Nero
Nero didn't really have anything she could use to help Reinhard, you could hear his scorched wind pipe, his lifeless expression.
"Do you want to save that boy?" asked an unknown, almost angelic voice
"Yes, i'd go out of my way to do anything and save him" Said Nero
"Anything? You say, then i shall grant your wish, and bring this frail boy back to normal, In return I need you to do me a favor, you need to fulfill my requirements over the next decade or two." Said this angelic voice
"Anything, i'll do anything" cried Nero
"Very well then, I'm going to heal your injuries and send you to a realm completely separated from this main world, on a quest to kill the grandmaster of all dragons, a powerful being who can destroy this world in an instant, If you win over him and gain his cosmic abilities, you shall return to this main world, and live all powerful." Explained the being
"I will not deny this offer" Replied Nero
"Very well then"
Reinhard's body was floating and elevating up, slowly elevating while insane amounts of magic power were being absorbed by his frail corpse, his arm was regrowing, almost as if he's a lizard, his body was regaining shape and was not looking weak and frail anymore, his burns were disappearing along with his wounds, It was almost as if he was being reborn, his forehead got a symbol, a symbol of power. Reinhard wakes up, almost as if he's a new man, he felt..powerful, a power he never felt before, it's almost like he surpassed his normal self a few dozen trillion times over, Nero was gone, Reinhard believes that she died, Reinhard believes that he's now lost everyone and everything, and from this point on, he starts his journey for revenge.
