Chapter 10: Intensified Conflict
After entering Chiba's tent, Akimitsu was notified of the intervention of the Sage Race on the conflict going on this planet. Because of the emergency, he will be deployed immediately and assigned to a squadron that just lost its captain.
Then, he was led by Captain Chiba to a building with a massive platform inside. After seeing the platform, Akimitsu felt a large amount of chakra running through it. Without hesitation, he stepped on the platform, then, a space crack appeared similar to the space-time Ninjutsu, Yomotsu Hirasaka.
After entering the rift, Akimitsu teleported to another region of the planet. As soon as he arrived, he could hear explosions in the distance. In front of him were a group of injured soldiers.
With a frown on his face, Akimitsu asked: "Where are the Squad Leaders?"
All these people were a little surprised by this stranger's arrival, but after seeing Akimitsu's eyes--which was turned back into Mangekyou Sharingan after sealing his Rinnegan--they knew that he was probably their new Captain.
Soon, a few members of the squad with Byakugans and Sharingans came from the next room; and they too were injured with bandages all over them.
After seeing this, Akimitsu waved his hand and chakra thread came from his finger into the body of these people, Then, he used Yang Release to treat their injuries. After awakening both the Rinnegan and Tenseigan, Akimitsu gained the ability to control all Five Chakra Nature, and Yin-Yang Release. The Tenseigan even granted him the ability to use the Truth-Seeking Ball.
After everyone was healed, Akimitsu ordered all the soldiers to get ready for battle, then ordered the Squad Leaders to inform him of the general situation as he walked in the direction of the battlefield.
One person said: "Everything was going fine as we had the advantage against the Alloy Race. Then, suddenly, a tear in space occurred and the members of the Sage Race appeared and attacked both sides of the battlefield. Since we were caught off guard, we suffered a lot of casualties."
"How did the Alloy Race reacted?"
"They opened a two-sided battlefield, fighting the two of us together."
"Did anyone asked for an alliance against the other?" asked Akimitsu.
"Why do we need an alliance? Our Otsutsuki clan can still fight both of them together," replied one of the Squad Leader. Akimitsu could see the deep arrogance of the Otsutsuki clan from him, the arrogance that often led to their demise back in the Shinobi World, and probably across many other worlds in this universe.
Soon, all of them arrived at the battlefield; it was an open plain divided into three sides: on one side, there was a group of automatons that looked like robots from Akimitsu's memories. They came in different sizes and shapes and used all kinds of modern and futuristic weapons like tanks, missiles, laser beams. This group also had the largest population.
Another group was the Otsutsuki clan. They looked like humans, but they were using all kinds of Jutsus. On this battlefield, Akimitsu saw more than 20 full-body Susanoo rampaging on the battlefield. Raising his head, he saw a few individuals with either Rinnegan, Tenseigan, or Jogan floating in the air. He even saw the Commander that he had a meeting with after he first became a captain.
On the other group, there were many animals--mostly toads, snakes, and slugs--along with a few human-looking ones. In this group, the size of the animals all vary from really small, to a few dozen meters tall.
These animals could talk, their bodies were extremely powerful. Every time they punch a member of the Otsutsuki clan or the Alloy race, they would cause great damage. Some of them even destroyed a few Susanoos.
These animals could also use strange techniques, but Akimitsu did not discover any chakra inside their bodies, and he was not surprised as he knew that members of the Sage Race used natural energy.
As a branch member of the clan, his destiny was always to be sent to the battlefield. So, at a young age, he was thought about military tactics, the different races of the universe that could compete with the Otsutsuki clan, and how to fight them.
The Alloy Race and the Sage Race were major focuses of these lessons. Since the Alloy Race was basically made of metal, they do not have chakra inside their bodies. So, the Otsutsuki clan cannot absorb their powers through the God Tree. So, most planets inhabited by the Alloy Race will be left alone by the clan.
As for the Sage Race, although they have chakra inside their bodies, they cannot use it due to the lack of ninshu or understanding of Ninjutsu. However, they also cannot be absorbed by the Otsutsuki clan because of the natural energy that they used. Once a clan member does so, he or she will turn into stone.
As soon as Akimitsu arrived, he received orders directly into his mind from his Commander to enter the battle, and he did so. Activating his Susanoo, he rushed to a nearby giant toad and started fighting.
His red Susanoo wielded two blades, while the giant toad had a spear on its hand. The clash of the two destroyed the environment around. However, they were evenly matched, so the battle continued in a stalemate.
Of course, that's because Akimitsu did not do his best. According to the stringent rules of the clan, no matter how many contributions he made to this battle, all the rewards would be granted to his Commander. So, he did not do his best but just observe the battlefield while preserving his own life.
In the corner of his eyes, Akimitsu saw a soldier who lost a companion, screamed with grief in the sky. Then, his eyes turned into a Rinnegan.
While floating in the air, the soldier muttered to himself: "Is this the power of God?" Then, he laughed like a madman. Unfortunately for him, a toad suddenly appeared in front of him and said: "Sage Art: Sonic Scream!"
A powerful sonic wave came from the toad's mouth and hit this 'newly-promoted Commander'. Instantly, his innards were destroyed, he sprayed a big mouthful of blood before falling on the ground; he never got back up.
The majority of people just gave him a glimpse, before the fighting continued.
As for Akimitus, he found himself surrounded by another member of the Sage Race; this time, it was a human. This person had strange markings in his body, and he looked exactly like Jugo from the Shinobi World, with Orochimaru's cursed mark. And his abilities were similar well as he could control his body to change into different shapes.
The only difference was that there was no mark on his body, and this person could absorb the natural energy in the environment to use his abilities. Another difference was that this person was perfectly sane and did not lose control of his mind.
Nevertheless, even with the two teaming up to fight him, he was still perfectly fine. Of course, he made it look like he was struggling in order not to draw too much attention to himself.
Just like that, the battle continued for a few hours before all sides decided to stop due to fatigue. Although the Alloy Race did not know the concept of fatigue, their casualties were the largest in this confrontation.
