"Somebody! Please, we need your help!"
Seong Yong-rae almost lost count as to how many times he already had heard of it. He once asked his buddy Gok Jeung-hui who was also waiting here for their turn in front of him, if he somehow had heard that cute feminine voice shouting for help.
Strangely, Gok Jeung-hui didn't seem to hear that and just shrugged when he was asked. Since his best friend, and the other people present here, didn't seem to hear it, Seong Yong-rae started to believe that it was just a part of his wild imagination and tried to ignore it for the next few minutes.
But the more he ignores it, the more it only becomes louder in his ears. And it is slowly killing his curiosity!
At last, after several more minutes of enduring the noise that he could only hear, Seong Yong-rae finally gives in and asked his best friend Jeung-hui to watch his spot for him while he goes walking around the shop to look for that annoying voice that's been calling out to him nonstop.
But of course, he did not particularly say all of that. What he said is that he was getting curious with the shops' other games and will go ahead and try to check them out.
Even though he was confused why, Gok Jeung-hui, a teenage boy of fifteen with the pale white skin, reddish curly hair, hazel brown eyes, short build and covered with baby fat, lets him do whatever Yong-rae wished to do while he watched out his spot behind him for his friend.
After making sure his spot is safe, Seong Yong-rae started roaming around the shop to look for that weird but cute feminine voice that somehow belongs to a girl of his age.
The whole shop is really a huge one, there's a reason why it's been mostly a to-go shop by gamers like him whenever they want to buy the latest game, computer parts, gaming tools, and other cool stuffs like that.
He was easily being distracted by some games that were in display in the video game aisle. These spot was built mostly for the games that were still being played by the youth today but only it is kind of outdated a little.
And surprisingly enough, as goes deep into the aisle, the voice of the girl from a while ago is starting to get louder as well. It was like he was nearly approaching to where she is exactly located.
But in here? Why here? Seong Yong-rae really thought that someone was genuinely in danger and needs saving. And here he thought he was going to be some pretty girl's knight in shining armor!
When Seong Yong-rae arrived at the farthest corner of the video game aisle, he did not see anyone in particular. Not a cute girl dressed as a damsel in distress, nothing!
So did he just waste a few minutes of his precious time when he could just go and wait with his best friend until they could finally get hold of the latest game by Codec?
"Man, I'm outta here," Seong Yong-rae muttered to himself and was just about to turn around and head back to his line when something had caught his eye.
At the farthest row of this large display cabinet filled with outdated games, there was something that's glowing on the last row of the cabinet that immediately caught his attention.
Seong Yong-rae turned around once more and walked to where he saw the glowing light. The more he walks near to it, the more the light fades.
Finally, after taking several steps just to get to it, Seong Yong-rae finally finds the cause for glowing. He stretched out one hand and took out a random video game that had been the source of light earlier, except now the light had died down under his touch.
This thing was not even in a solid DVD holder, but was sealed in a ziplock plastic container only. What in the world is this thing even doing on a place like this anyway? Did the store owner mistakenly placed this outdated game over here or what?
"The Last Villain," Seong Yong-rae read the title on the cd itself. This must be the title of the game, which is kind of lame by the way according to Yong-rae's standards.
"Pfftt. What kind of a lame name is this?" Yong-rae whispered to himself and was planning to return the cd back to its shelf.
"Congratulations, you're the last person who'll be given the last copy of that very cool game,"
"Whoa!"
Seong Yong-rae almost jumped back to where he's currently standing when he suddenly heard a voice from behind which caused him to quickly turn around to see who it was.
Strangely, he was greeted by the smiling face of the seemingly grumpy bloated store employee that was assigned at the cashier earlier who is now entertaining the customers. Even the clothes are somehow identical.
That guy over the cashier is grumpy and never smiles at all. But this one does. Weird.
But wait, if that guy, assuming he and this guy are all the same, is right here, then who's the one in-charge of the cashier and customers right now?
Surprisingly, the smiling bloated guy was able to follow Seong Yong-rae's line of thinking since he immediately stopped him from moving away and immediately explained that he was the twin brother of that cashier guy.
"Ahhh..." was the only reaction that came out of Yong-rae's mouth.
"Anyway, you mentioned that I can have this for free..." Seong Yong-rae quickly added and raised the cd for the guy to see. "Am I right?"
"Absolutely right, mister," The bloated smiling responded enthusiastically with one hand doing the gesture.
"But why?"
"You sure do like to ask a lot, boy," The guy whispered to himself in frustration.
"What's that?"
"It's nothing!" The guy barked. "Let's just say... you were among the few selected ones who got this game for free. Happy now?"
"Oh boy, this must be my lucky day indeed!" Seong Yong-rae exclaimed. Not only did he get to have the latest game, he would also be having one extra game on his list when he gets home later.
"You ain't don't have to show it to my brother, er... Rufus. Just take your purchased item with you and you're good to go."
Seong Yong-rae slightly squinted his eyes a bit. "That is kinda suspicious honestly, but okay dude. Thanks again for choosing me to be your lucky winner!"
Waving his hand goodbye, Yong-rae quickly went back to his original post with the game in hand. And just as soon as he left the shelf, the smile from the bloated guy earlier disappeared in a whim as his over all figure was slowly changing.
From the bloated guy he was before, his body changed into a slender, tall one with slightly big muscles. His face was meticulously hidden under the hood of the black cloak that he's currently wearing and a wooden staff was clutched on his right hand.
The friendly grin that he was showing to the boy earlier suddenly changed into an enigmatic smile that spread on his thin lips.
"Oh, you are very lucky indeed..." The enigmatic guy said to himself as the smile grew wider.
