Chapter 7: 7. Who is that guy?
After lunch, they talk some more about their school life. Technically it was just Andrea telling about her school life. With Noel and Julian listening to the tale of their sister with a smile on their face. Soon they all retired to their rooms after a long talk with each other to get some rest after traveling all morning.
Noel took some well-deserved shut-eye in his room as he was awake for 7 full days in the game and hasn't had any sleep for such a long time.
A few hours later...
Noel hears someone knocking on his door, he slowly wakes up and makes his way towards the door as he unlocks the door.
Julian looks at his sleepy brother and says "Brother didn't you say you were going to meet bro JJ after a long time. It's already 7 pm now."
Noel regains some clarity as he looks at his smartwatch and rushes back inside, "Thanks for waking me up, But I gotta rush now. I will be having dinner with JJ. You guys don't need to wait for me."
Soon Noel got ready and took his old car and hit the road. The car was well maintained as it was one of their father's favorite cars. The car was just 10 years old but was in good condition due to its high technology. Although it was a Hovercar that runs on Magnetism and not like the New Skycars that fly in the SkyRoad. It still made good speed as Noel arrived at his destination.
Looking at the familiar flashy signboard (World's Barbeque) brings back a lot of memories. It was JJ and Noel's Favorite place to hang out. Looking around to see someone beating and kicking around a person who has fallen to the ground who was on the verge of begging the other his pupil constricted.
Noel POV:
Noel rushed forward and tried pushing the guy who was just about to kick the guy on the ground. But the big man just dodged the push as if he had an eye at the back of his head. The Big man turned around grabbed Noel's Collar gave out a big left hook.
Noel who has lived for 15 Years in the Vast Wilderness gave out a cold glint as he raised his right hand in a block stance as he raised his left knee to deliver a direct blow to the big guy's stomach.
Beaten Man POV:
The man on the ground suddenly saw someone approaching to save him and was in tears as he looked that little man miss his push towards the big guy. But when he was anticipating whether he would be saved or both him and his savior would be beaten together, suddenly to his bewilderment they both stopped their attacks midway.
Both people the one who had beaten him and the one he thought was his savior stopped as they looked at each other in the eye, then laughed and hugged each other. The beaten man on the ground felt like he had eaten bitter medicine at this twist of events.
Noel POV:
Noel looked at the left hook that had been blocked by him as well as his left knee being blocked by the big man as he let go of his collar to block the attack. Noel was stunned when he properly looked at the big guy, He could only laugh when he recognized his face as the big man was also smiling widely looking at Noel as they both laughed out loud and got a big bear hug from the big guy.
The man on the ground couldn't understand what was going on as first he was beaten by the big guy, then just when he thought someone had come to save him. They both stopped midway, laughed, hugged each other, and then they looked at him and left. At least his conclusion led him to think that he got off the hook and scurried his way to get out of there.
Noel looked at the big guy as he looks at him up and down, "JJ I barely recognize you, what happened man you buffed up quite a bit. Your not the fat JJ that I know about. What happened in between the 2 years."
JJ grinned, "Well, I am not the only one that has changed. What about you that block and the counter were perfect when did you learn how to fight and look that you gave me chills made me remember my training with my seniors at the Military Camp."
Noel laughed it off as he learned by watching some videos on the Skynet and asked about his experience and what had happened to make such a drastic change, even when he remembered from his future self what had happened to his friend.
JJ's full name was Jack Jhonson. He was Noel's childhood friend. JJ's father and Noel's father were friends and even after his parent's death the only ones who stood by him and his younger siblings were JJ's Dad Uncle Mark Jhonson even when the so-called relatives were trying to steal his family wealth.
JJ was a fat kid as far as long as he knew and these two years of separation when JJ's Father made him go through Military Training changed the boy so much that he was nearly recognizable. With JJ now being Buff and Strong like a well-trained professional, he had finished his 2 Years of military service.
Although the world was united under the United Federation, there were still some acts of terrorism and vandalism enacted by some dark and hidden organizations. So military training was not compulsory and it was a choice made by people. As at least the military gets enough applications to not make the training mandatory.
JJ was a good drinker even back then but now with a good body, he was a good shot. Now he was finally able to drink after 2 years. Although the duo didn't get full-blown drunk it was enough to share each other's exploits over the past 2 Years.
With JJ being the bulkiest man at the place and Noel with his unique handsomeness and Azure Eyes they were treated by quite some women but were all rejected in a polite way. They had the surrounding eyes on them and even some weird and crazy and daring glances shot their way towards them.
