Chapter 55: THANKYOU.

Imperial city at Seren and Louis's apartment in morning,
Seren asked, " So we had a room beside the bedroom all this while? Then why are we both sleeping in the same room when we already had another empty room?".
Louis replied, " This room was originally my study room as you know where I worked my real office matters as the superior so I never thought about turning it into a separate bedroom for both of us and just decided to share one room but now Lucas is gonna live with us so of course he will need his own room and space".
Seren was speechless. She asked, " When did Mr. Edward did all of this? And now where you will be doing your office work?".
Louis said, " I ordered the renovators to do it yesterday after you messaged me that you were not coming and about my office work.....that I can do with you. We can share one study room. Right?".
Seren asked, " Was it all prepared by yesterday? How come renovating a room needs just a day?".
Louis said, " Wifey what do you take me as? Your husband is someone who can have all of it done on fingertips. Just for the time being....I'm an intern employee".
Before Louis could continue bragging about himself, Seren's phone rang. It was Kevin.
Seren picked up the call, " Speak".
She just listened to what Kevin said on the other line and then disconnected the call and went towards her study room leaving Louis behind.
Louis thought, "What? Again she is behaving as if I don't exist? This woman doesn't even bother to take a look at me. Shouldn't she at least praise me or say that I did good?".
Louis followed her to the study room as she already left him. When he entered the study room, he saw Seren struggling with something on her laptop. He asked her, " what happened?".
She replied, " I saved a drive on my laptop but I'm not getting it".
Suddenly the desktop screen hanged and Seren was more worried and anxious about her drive which had some important details about her patients cases.
Seren started pressing any button and tried whatever she could to make her laptop work fluently again but nothing was working. Louis noticed the struggling soul and came towards her.
He strode towards her from behind as Seren was sitting on the chair. He leaned down as he kept one of his hand on the table to support his body and other one used for the laptop and said, " Let me help you".
Seren noticed that Louis was again close to her. She tried to get out from there as she was completely trapped between his arms. Because of him leaning down to her, their faces were also close to each other.
Louis was trying to focus in order to fix the problem but this cat was wiggling here and there. He stopped and then held her head as he said, " Be quiet little bunny, let me work on this".
Seren froze and could only look down to avoid his eyes. After a few minutes the laptop started to work again.
Louis said, " Check if you have your drive?".
Seren looked up and searched her folder on the desktop as she found her drive. She sighed a heave of relief.
Looking at her sigh Louis asked, " Is this the drive you were searching for?".
Seren turned to look at him to reply but she noticed that Louis was still leaning as his face was closer to her. She was flustered and only nodded to answer him.
Louis retracted as he said, " That's a relief then. Next time don't recklessly press anything when the device lags. Just call for me and I'll help you out" and left to leave.
Before he could open the door Seren called him. Louis stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her as to why she called him.
Seren keeping her expressionless face said, " Thankyou".
Louis was shocked but he replied, " Now that I think about it, I never heard you say thanks to me".
Seren mumbled to herself, " What nonsense is this quack spouting now?".
Louis continued, " On the day we registered our marriage when I helped you buckle up the seat belt in the car, all you said was.....'Don't expect thankful words from me because I didn't ask for your help and you did it out of your good will'. I even was with you in the haunted house all the time when you were scared of those ghosts. Last time too when you were about to fall on the mirror in front of the dressing table, I caught you right on time which prevented you not getting hurt. That time I saved your life but still you didn't even give me a word of thanks. Last night too I made dinner and brought it to you but not even once you complimented me neither you said thankyou".
Seren was speechless as she only looked at him and didn't say anything. All she thought was, " Does he remember all of it in so much detail?".
Louis waited for her to reply but she just looked at him. He commented, " And you never respond when I'm right".
Seren averted her gaze as if she was caught and Louis had already looked through her.
Louis said, " You always ignore me and treat me as if I don't exist. Can't you just praise me once and say that I did good? You never compliment me even when....".
Seren cut him off and replied, " Thankyou".
Louis smirked and decided to tease her a little more," What did you say? Come again?".
Seren looked at him and replied again, " I said thankyou".
Seren commented, " You even complain when I do as you say".
Louis confronted himself and teased her a more, " No, its just that I didn't hear you clearly. What did you say? Huh? Hmm?".
Seren ignored him and stood up to leave for work. After she left the house, Louis who was at the apartment because of his day off started laughing as he remembered Seren's face when he teased her. He smiled when he remembered Seren saying thankyou to him. It was the first time when she thanked him.
Little by little Seren and Louis were both getting to know each other. Seren was someone who always made Louis want to be with her. And to Seren, Louis was someone who used to bother her a lot which no one dared to do it to this woman because of her cold behavior.
