Chapter 12: Princess Mayor
Mr. Isaac Ibrahim didn't mind losing Maya Agustin. He didn't even have any expectations for her anymore. Shasha's suggestion deserved to be reconsidered. There was no point in forcing Maya Agustin to follow his wishes or worrying about Maya's life with her husband.
She was not a kid anymore. But he will stop funding Maya Agustin. However, Maya must be taught a lesson.
Besides, he didn't see any regret on Maya's face.
Mr. Isaac Ibrahim got up from his chair, he took the family album. He felt the need to introduce Shasha to his great grandfather.
He also showed the documents of several assets that would become Shasha's legacy. Who else can inherit his wealth other than Shasha? Maya Agustin? No! Maya Agustin will divert her property for her benefit and her new family.
Maya Agustin never seriously thought about her mother and Shasha.

In her room, Maya Agustin contemplated the life she had lived so far.
Why was it so difficult for her to love Shasha, her biological daughter. Shasha was a shadow of her gloomy life in the past. She gave birth in suffering. Her husband Rahmat preferred his family to live abroad than live with her, a poor girl who did not have a clear life.
In the past, she was just a country girl who dropped out of school but was beautiful and had a sweet voice, a traveling singer, who aspired to be famous and had lots of money, before she could find her father.
Meanwhile, Mr. Rahmat was a student of KKN¹ in his village. His mother was against their marriage because he was too young to marry. She eloped with Rahmat to Jakarta. But her marriage ran aground because Rahmat wanted to study abroad. At that time Maya had a lot of singing jobs.
They were in great opposition, from family and situations too. Maya wanted to become a famous singer. Rahmat wanted to take her abroad. But Maya refused. Should didn't want to lose the opportunity. But Rahmat still left. Maya still wanted to stay. They split up.
However, Maya lost her chance at that time because she just realized that she was pregnant. She was forced to return home, gave birth to Shasha, and left her behind, for the sake of her unfulfilled dreams. Two years later, Rahmat returned to pick up Maya. Rahmat looked for Maya in his mother's village, he found out the baby. His heart was broken. Rahmat, who didn't know that Maya had remarried and changed her name. Maya's real name was Mayang Sari, Maya disappeared, then appeared with the new name Maya Agustin. Agustin, the last name of her new husband, Ryan Agustin.
For many years they lived in misunderstanding and anger.
Mr. Rahmat finally remarried Aini Lestari. A patient woman treated his broken heart and gave him 2 children.
The night was getting late, but the old man and his granddaughter had not gone to sleep. There were still many things he wanted to talk about with his grandfather.
"Grandfather,
Grandpa, can I remain a shasha? "
"You mean?" his grandfather didn't understand.
"Shasha wants to stay at the boarding house. Every Saturday, Sunday, Shasha will come here to visit grandfather."
Grandpa smiled. "Yes! But your grandmother still has to live here, she's grandfather's wife," Grandpa voiced out his condition, he was afraid of losing them again.
He was forced to make Maimunah as a guarantee. Shasha thought for a moment, "it's up to grandma," Shasha didn't like to leave her grandmother here as a hostage.
However, her grandmother had her own opinion and will. Grandfather realized his mistake, he didn't want Shasha to hate him.
"Okay, but grandfather beg you, let grandfather help you," grandfather relented.
"Help doing what?" Shasha was afraid that her grandfather would use his power. She already knew how grandfather had managed many things to look after her all this time.
Including the bodyguards. Shasha met them here. Those people were familiar with her. So far they have disguised themselves as street vendors, cleaners, street sweepers, construction workers, and others.
Even now she knew that the natural garden was remodeled by her grandfather for her sake. Now it was a smart garden! Shasha saw the garden development proposal on her grandfather's desk.
Realizing all that, Shasha was terrified that her grandfather was more powerful than the mayor, her father.
Far from her thoughts and dreams, Shasha had no desire to be rich, powerful, let alone famous. Everything was beyond her expectations. Shasha just wanted to be a teacher, own a school, and write books. Simple.
"Tell me .... what do you want to help with?" asked Shasha firmly. It was obvious that she looked a lot like his grandfather.
"Grandpa wants to build your school?" Shasha looked closely at her grandfather. Her grandfather wanted to interfere with her activities. Other people would be happy if their grandfather helped them.
"Let tomorrow's meeting decide that," Shasha also had an arrogant attitude like her grandfather.
Her grandfather smiled. Shasha was the final decision-maker. She was hard-hearted like her grandmother and proud like himself. Pride in their case was positive, of course. Shasha wanted to stand up for her own efforts. However proud she was, this granddaughter was humble and hardworking in character.
But that was just Shasha being her true self. She never proclaimed herself as the daughter of a famous artist and the daughter of a mayor. She didn't even care about her parents' wealth, who were influential and powerful. Shasha always wanted to live a simple and dignified life.
