Chapter 3: SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN
As soon as the light shone over the body, Jiang Meili felt her soul leaving her body. This process was very painful.
"OUCH! Nobody said anything about experiencing this immense pain" Jiang Meili finally complained when she found herself floating in an endless white corridor. As far as she could see, she saw nothing at all.
"Because nobody was actually stupid enough to go through this process like you," suddenly a childish voice replied.
The voice scared the hell out of Jiang Meili as she could see no one. She kept looking everywhere to find the source only to hear the voice laughing.
"Stop looking for me! You won't be able to see me, my dear Meili. You know you actually took a very big risk. Anything can happen to you now."
"No matter what happens, it can't be worse than death." Jiang Meili replied.
"True. But still you were brave and for that I will give you a reward in your next life."
"Next life! So it's really true that I can reincarnate," a smile plastered her face as she said this.
"Don't be that happy, first listen to me. The new body you are going to reside in is also from a novel and kinda shares the same character setting as you expect she doesn't die young like you."
"It's okay. As long as I don't die, I don't mind being poor too."
"Lili baby don't get that excited. Because the new Jiang Meili will be in coma for the rest of her life after her 25th birthday."
As soon as the voice dropped the bomb on Jiang Meili, the smile, the dreams she saw in those few seconds all shattered into pieces. She tried to glare at the voice but could find it. Unable to contain her frustration, Jiang Meili shouted, "Seriously, I sacrificed my power and my life to spend my life lying on the bed. THIS CAN'T BE. AHHH!"
"Stop shouting! Are you trying to turn me into a deaf and stop interrupting me. From the beginning I am asking to listen but no you have to stop me almost after each word i say. Hmph! If you continue like this I will not give you the reward! Now tell me will you interrupt me or not again?" the voice complained and threatened Jiang Meili.
"No, I will not be interrupted anymore as long as I am not in a comatose state. Please don't let me be in a coma, please dear voice," said Jiang Meili in one breath.
" Fine you will not be in coma and that's going to be your reward. So stop interrupting me. Now listen carefully, to ensure you do not lie on the bed for the rest of your life, you will do what the book requires you to do and don't deviate from it for the first 25 years of your life."
As soon as the voice said that, a similar light beam was seen and the next thing Jiang Meili heard was the cry of a baby.
