Chapter 22: Chapter 22: the fugitive
pov: Cian.
sincerely nothing is the same for me, secondly I had not yet finished consuming the remains of the old man for evolution, but after that, I had to finish with the enemy in front of me, which is a dog, even so I did not know what to do with the academy, more importantly I am a fugitive wanted by the law.
The red tower was declared an enemy of the Kingdom of Morke making public the identity of the survivors, others were executed in the central square, while I, I hide, the academy knows my identity, it is only a matter of time to be found, so I used the best tactic I had in mind.
Hiding in plain sight, where everyone will see me and no one will look for me, my steps took me through the main market, looking for supplies to use on my next trip, until I saw her, in the main square hanging.
Her radiant smile as I examined her, she was guiltless, Erica on the gallows, her body inert, even naked Ellie, tied to a post with her hands and legs, her body despite the bruises and visible wounds was still alive, but her eyes were only asking for death.

doubts arose in my mind, I didn't want to see her like this but I couldn't do anything either, really is this right? I tried to take a step back and soon a guard spoke.
"Ellie Jack Storm sentenced to the penalty of execution and public humiliation, charges, withholding information of high importance to the search and capture of a traitor to the crown, all in the name of their king Steven second with his name, leader of the Heavens, chosen by the hells, tamer of demons and slayer of gods"
my body goes numb at her words, she is hiding information about me.
I looked at her again the moment the executioner walked to the side carrying a long and heavy sword, it was clear, they won't cut her head off in one blow, first her legs, then her arms and thus mutilated her in public.
"haaf!"
a sigh escaped my lips, for I knew well what I would do now.
Ellie's lifeless eyes met mine, and so use movement from the shadows to stand beside her, and slowly untie her, as I held her in my arms.
"easy, I'm here now."
"y-you w-why?"
Ellie began to cry as I held her in my arms, on the other hand the soldiers began to move around me.
"what do you plan to do?"
"roll it."
"quick."
Only at that moment did the one wearing red-striped armor speak.
"Who are you?"
I looked at him with hatred in my eyes and sighed.
"I have to stop giving myself pretentious names, but, I am the red tower resistance."
pov: narrator
all the soldiers drew their weapons and the ones in the distance drew their guns, ready to attack, yet it only took one look from Cian for a group of dark thorns to impale the surrounding soldiers.
No one could do anything and the panicked people started to run, while Cian carried Ellie in his arms walking down the street, calmly.
"why did you come?"
Cian didn't answer and kept looking straight ahead, but Ellie kept talking as Cian slipped into the shadows with her.
"they'll still be looking for you..."
Ellie looked down and embarrassed spoke calmly.
"you know your right hand, it's in a not very comfortable place for me and let's not talk about your left hand."
Then Cian's body trembled slightly, her left hand was literally grabbing one of her breasts, while the left one was on her butt to keep her in a fast position.
But still, Cian didn't move her hands, after all it was the best way to keep her restrained, since behind them there were soldiers watching them, although they didn't attack or act they were only observing them.
"you must move, they will follow you and me too, you must get rid of me right?"
Cian looked at her and shook his head.
"I won't get rid of you, we will look for another place to go, but first we must regroup."
only when he finally spoke a dust bomb was thrown into the air, that took him by surprise, not knowing what will happen he decided to cover Ellie and an explosion threw him back to the ground.
Wounded Cian stands up while a blanket of darkness covers Ellie, around them three mages in blue robes, accompanied by soldiers in silver armor.
"surrender red tower cadet, we can come to an agreement and save you."
quickly one of the mages spoke, but Cian just watched them from his position, covering Ellie in a dark sphere.
"Are you from the blue tower, why are you working with the kingdom?"
Cian asked before acting, but the answer was somewhat expected.
"we don't work with the king, but we don't have the power to destroy him either, that's why we need to save all the cadets he's hiding."
Cian scanned the ground and the soldiers, looking for multiple options to escape.
"I can't go, I have something to do."
then the wizards, lowered their heads and their sadistic smiles appeared.
"it's a pity, I thought wearing dead wizards' robes would help, to trick you, now!"
"exploding sand!"
"crossbow!"
"double fire!"
two of the mages acted quickly and one of the warriors cast his aura skills, Cian didn't have much experience against those skills, but those of the orc he trained with were much more powerful.
Cian took care of the sand with a water bubble, while with the fire he suppressed it with earth, on the other hand the aura cross slash, he received it directly in his body.
But to his surprise a strong pain began to run through his body, no, his soul.

confused Cian looked at the warriors, who were smiling ready to attack.
