Chapter 68: 68. Secret Arts
Ben faces the Yeti again after they're saved from the avalanche. But now they're in the mountain foot. The environment here is a lot warmer than the summit, so it will be more advantageous for Ben.
Ben attacks the Yeti and now he starts to dominate it. The Yeti doesn't get weaker, but Ben's spells have become stronger here. Ben's fire mode can release more heat than before, so it becomes stronger.
With more heat, Ben's attacks now caused more damage to the Yeti. Its cold attacks become less effective as Ben's fire's heat neutralizes and overpower it. The environment has affected their magic a lot.
The Yeti is being pushed by Ben and will lose if nothing changes. It suddenly jumps away and roars to the sky. Ben frown and doesn't know what the Yeti's doing.
The Yeti's hands suddenly get frozen and covered by ice. Then it slams its hands to the ground and shatters the ice. Cold energy is released by the Yeti and it spread everywhere at a fast speed.
Ben sees the cold energy is freezing the ground. It moves toward him too, so Ben needs to stop it. Ben takes a deep breath and creates a magic circle in his mouth.
"Sun Dragon's Fire Roar!" shouts Ben while spewing a big amount of fire.
Ben's fire hit the cold energy and spread to block it. The hot fire stops the cold energy from moving any further. When both spells disappear, only Ben's side that doesn't freeze. Ben also protects Bella in the car behind him.
Ben grins while the Yeti doesn't seem pleased by the result. It wants to freeze every area, but Ben has hindered it. But now, most area has been covered by ice and it starts to get colder.
"It won't affect anything. The altitude is too low, so it will keep getting warmer. Your ice will melt slowly," says Ben while grinning.
The Yeti doesn't care and rush at Ben. Now it covers its hands with thick ice and punches Ben. Ben increases the heat of his fire and punches back.
Their attacks meet and Ben's fire still overpowers the Yeti's attacks. His punches break the ice slowly until all the ice is gone. The Yeti wants to take some distance, but Ben doesn't let it.
Ben increases the fire around his body. Then he steps his left foot in front while his right foot is behind. He placed his hands on his right side and a big magic circle appear under his feet.
"Secret Dragon Slayer Art! 2nd Hell: Fire World!"
Ben spins his body counter-clockwise and swipes his hands. The fire on his hands moves and creates a spiraling dome that covers both Ben & the Yeti inside. It makes the Yeti stop and looks around to find a way out, but there's none.
Then fire starts to cover the ground, it moves from the dome toward the center. When it ends, everything inside the dome has covered in fire. It is truly a Fire World in here.
The Yeti now feels uncomfortable being surrounded by fire. It is not used to be in a hot place like this and fire weakens its element. So the Yeti uses its ice magic to cool its body.
Ben grins and says, "It's useless, your ice will just melt in here. 2500 Celsius!"
Ben raises the fire temperature to 2500 Celsius. This is the temperature that he can reach easily now. It is not hot enough for him because it's still far from Sun's surface's temperature.
But it's very hot for normal creatures, especially an Ice creature like this Yeti. The ice that surrounds the Yeti's body starts to melt. It creates more ice just for it to get melted by the high temperature.
Ben grins and decides to end this. He open his hands and spread his fingers. Ben lit a fire on each tip of his fingers. Then he creates a red magic circle on each of his hands and he swipes his hands to the center.
"Fire Pillars!" says Ben while swiping his hands.
A lot of fire pillars come out of the fire dome and move toward the Yeti. The Yeti tries to dodge, but the fire pillar even comes out from the ground. It hit the Yeti and caused the other pillars to hit it too.
The Yeti gets hit by fire pillars many times and now get trapped by them. Ben then controls the fire around the pillar to engulf the Yeti. The Yeti screams because it gets burnt, but Ben doesn't stop.
After the scream disappears, Ben uses his magic sense. He doesn't sense anything from the Yeti, so it must be dead. Ben dispels his magic and now the Yeti can be seen.
It has been burnt to death, but strangely its fur is still intact. Ben check it and find that the Yeti's skin & fur are fine. But its insides are not, they've been roasted and cooked by the high heat.
"This guy's skin & fur are very strong. No wonder the previous mages who took this job couldn't defeat it. If I didn't use the Fire World, then maybe it will take longer for me to win even in this environment. I can't imagine how long it will take if we still fight on the summit where everything is frozen," says Ben.
Ben wants to dismantle the Yeti's carcass and take its skin & fur when suddenly he hears many roars, "ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!"
Those roars sound similar to the Yeti that Ben has defeated. Then he senses many presences from the summit. He looks up and sees many silhouettes come down from the summit.
Ben widens his eyes and curses, "WHAT THE F**K?! Are they this guy's friends? Tch, as I thought, this is too easy to be an S-Class job."
The silhouettes finally arrive and Ben can see them. Just like his prediction, all of them are Yetis. There are 16 Yetis that have just come down. They're surrounding Ben right now and look at their friend's dead body.
They all roar in anger and look at Ben angrily. Ben doesn't say or do anything and just looks back at them with a strong gaze. They try to intimidate him, but he is not afraid even if there are many of them and he is alone.
"BELLA, ACTIVATE ALL CAR'S DEFENSE SYSTEMS TO PROTECT YOURSELF!" Ben instructs Bella.
Bella nod and activate all the car's defense systems. Ben is sure that the Yetis won't be able to break the car's defense system. It is strong enough to hold against Ben's strongest attack, after all.
"ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!"
The Yetis roar and raise their hands together. They cover their hands with ice and then slam it to the ground. They release the same cold energy attack as the dead Yeti. Their attacks merge and become very strong attacks.
Ben creates an orange magic circle above his head and says, "Plasma Mode!"
The magic circle comes down and passes through Ben's body until it reaches the ground. After that, Ben's body start to glow orange and it get brighter until it turned yellowish at 3000 Celsius.
Ben now uses Plasma Mode to protect himself. This mode can easily reach a higher temperature than Fire Mode. Ben creates a small hot plasmasphere to protect his body from the cold energy.
The cold energy hits Ben's plasmasphere, but can't break it. The car also gets hit by the cold energy, but it doesn't budge. It has strong defenses that were made by Roubaul using his best techniques.
The cold energy is still pushing Ben's plasmasphere. He clicks his tongue and raises the plasma's temperature to 3500 Celsius. Then he raises it to 4000 Celsius and finally pushed back the cold energy and destroy it.
The Yetis growl seeing their attacks didn't work. They all roar and then rush at Ben together while covering their body with cold energy. They also cover their hands with ice magic and send punches at Ben together.
"It seems you guys don't have many spell variations. It's good because they're strong, but it also limits your attacks," says Ben.
Ben close his eyes and clap his hands. The clap creates a bright orange magic circle that spins between Ben's palm. Ben opens his eyes and they glow bright orange.
"Secret Dragon Slayer Art! 6th Hell: Burning Torture!"
Ben releases a strong plasma energy wave and creates a big orange dome that trapped all the Yetis. The temperature inside the dome is around 4000 Celsius.
The Yetis' ice & cold magic start to melt and they can't bear the hot temperature. They roar in agony because they feel their blood boiling and organs roasted.
It doesn't take long for the Yetis to fall one by one without Ben doing anything else. In a short time, all 16 Yetis that attack Ben died, roasted.
Ben dispels his magic and says, "Nice Hell, isn't it?"
